You cannot watch any sports on HBO Max

You cannot watch any sports on HBO Max. It’s constantly stop/start and sometimes freezes during commercials.
I went online and found out that UConn won over Illinois with 3 minutes left on HBO.
Maybe they are getting kickbacks from other streaming services to provide lousy service.
A travesty, and yes, I’ve called twice in the last 10 months for resolution. Nothing.

Make out like they have all the 4 FA Cup games live, but after signing up and paying u find out that u still have to buy a TNT package on top, i mean what's the point in that 🤣 If u have TNT already why would u watch it on Hbomax? So be careful if u are signing up for the FA Cup games, they don't have them.

I tried to find out what packages were available to upgrade from the "with adverts" basic package.

They wanted to charge me to talk with support!

Blocking negative feedback on their website

Tried to leave some less than positive feedback on their specific feedback website. Having written the feedback, followed the catchfa, and added my details, I tried to submit the feedback and was blocked by their security system!
How to avoid negative feedback, have an AI block under the guise of 'security' before it's actually submitted!
This is trumps america, the death of truth, honesty, and most importantly, free speech.
NO NO, HBO.

Today I tried again to leave a negative review snd was again blocked by their security system. So I changed the text to a positive review, snd it was accepted immediately!!!

User support seems all AI from my chat…

User support seems all AI from my chat session. If their poor LLM can't parse your question, they ask you again, hoping they can do better the second time. Useless.

The content is okay, but nothing special. Although in theory all their new stuff won't be available on Sky or Virgin, and only on HBOMax.

Not impressed so far, but will continue for a few months to give them time to improve the experience. You would have thought they'd have done a better job considering the money they have.

Terrible …

This review covers my attempts to move from a subscription to discovery plus with tnt sports in the UK to the new hbo max app.
I used 2 firesticks and one of Amazon own Omni fire televisions all devices fully updated.
No standalone app available ,despite being available on an I phone ,an android phone and a Samsung TV.
Help , Information and details from both hbo and Amazon ,almost non existent verging on totally useless.
At least with Amazon I spoke to a human ( bad English reading from a script) but a human nonetheless , where with hbo I could never get past the ai chat .

No real difference to me got hbo max and tnt sports as Amazon prime channels only difference I can see is instead of hbo getting all my money if they cared the slightest for customers they now have pay Amazon a cut

I think this is only short term anyway ,I already cancelled my paramount plus annual subscription and used it the least if the streamers and the starfleet academy woke fiasco was the final straw and now it looks like the Donald will rubber stamp the discovery take over for the ellisons I fear hbo will go the same woke route .

Can’t sign up as HBO doesn’t recognise my VM or prime account

Tried to sign up today using virgin media HBO Max says doesn’t recognise my virgin media account then try to sign in using Prime Video again HBO says doesn’t recognise my Prime Video account despite me logging in with my usual passwords et cetera so my attempt to get HBO in the UK has complete waste of time now given up. Why is it the development of so many of these television streaming apps are so poorly done?

Way too many ads

Signed up this morning through sky as it says it’s included. And half of the stuff on there you have to pay extra. And I went to watch a show and after 4 mins of adverts before it even started I’d had enough and closed the app. Absolutely terrible ads and the app is so clunky and slow.

Absolute Rip-off – €16 for a Library of Ancient Movies

I am beyond disappointed with the launch of Max in Ireland. I paid €16 for the Premium plan, expecting a top-tier streaming service, but what I got is easily the worst platform on the market.
The content library is an absolute joke. They advertised a 'new experience,' but it’s just a collection of stale, old movies and outdated content that everyone has already seen a decade ago. Where are the actual new releases? It feels like a massive cash grab targeting the Irish and UK markets.
The user interface is clunky, and the streaming quality for 'Premium' is hit-or-miss. Paying this much for ancient movies while other platforms offer actual value is insulting.
Total waste of money. If you’re looking for fresh hits and blockbusters, stay away. This is a massive letdown and I will be cancelling my subscription immediately. Avoid at all costs!

I have been moved to this nonsance from Discoveryplus. Now I have unskippable ads. So we have an adwall behind a paywall, it's worse than YouTube, and that takes some beating. Disgraceful, and not a human approach, just late stage capitalism monetizing every second of the day, every part of your life, and everything you enjoy.

HBO just lost a subscriber

HBO just lost a subscriber, I love the show The Pitt until tonight. Why you can’t just be entertaining instead of political. To bring ICE into this episode was petty. This nation is under so much division and you and your f-ing writers just decided to drag a one sided story into a great show. I’m canceling my subscription immediately, and I hope others do the same.

Been a fan since the 80's but no more

I've been a fan of HBO since it launched in the 80's, but that allegiance ended when our current no ad tier subscription no longer includes our 2 Roku devices we have along with our Apple TV. They're in the same house but HBO says we have to purchase separate plans for each device or do this code bs.

Worst service

The library of HBO Max is not one of the best one. Cancelled subscription through their site on 03/14/2026 while the new payment was not due until 04/03/2026 and got disconnected service on the same day. What an experience. It’s completely impossible to reach their customer service to report an issue
