What a fantastic event!
We had a fantastic night at Four Crosses, what a wonderful venue! Laura was our host and she was brilliant! She let us choose our own vigil methods which was so refreshing as other companies usually dictate what we do. She put us all at ease instantly and was also so helpful and hospitable right until we left the next morning (thanks for the wake up call!) I can't wait to book another, thanks for a memorable experience!

Wymering Manor
A spooky and atmospheric ghost hunt hosted at Wymering Manor. This was my second ghost hunt, and in my personal opinion a much more memorable one.
Alongside other family members of mine, we explored the crevasses and dark damp corners of Wymering Manor with our excellent hosts, who did not put any pressure on us when it came to exploring and communicating with the possible inhabitants of the house.
Basic refreshments were available including tea, coffee and other hot drinks as well as fruit juice.
In group one, we were taken around by one of our four hosts, Ethan. Ethan had a calm presence and did not seem to be phased by much during the evening/night/morning, even despite some tapping, banging and use of professional equipment which seemed to react heavily when attempting to communicate with the other side.
The night was filled with laughter, seriousness, scepticalness and everyone in our group seemed to get along well together which led to also talking about past experiences as well.
We shall certainly be doing another one of these in the future, as I believe that our hosts were truly down to earth and genuinely nice people who do this out of their own curiosity and eagerness, which made it even more worth the while.

Wymering manor - great experience.
My husband and I have just experienced our first ghost hunt at Wymering manor .
We didn't really know what to expect but the hosts made everyone welcome and at ease with what the evening entailed. I liked that we were were split into smaller groups and we were given the option to partake in vigils and activities. I really enjoyed table tipping and glass divination as we experienced some strange phenomena.
Our group was led by Clare and Sonia who were great at getting up the groups energy and helping us to have the best experience, so huge thanks to them.
This was a great experience and we will be sure to book another one soon.

Me Leah and my partner Earl have traveled from Manchester two times. Once 2 weeks ago to pen y lan and today to ford green hall. All hosts where amazing every time especially Tracey who we have had both time. Great at her job and makes sure everyone gets the most out of there time. Just want to say a massive thank you to the haunted houses team on Saturday 26th July at Smithills hall. I came with a friend and were placed group 3 with a number of other guests. We were in Laura's group with Liam who was doing his first event as host shadowing Laura. I have to say that they were both amazing. both confident and knowledgeable and pro active in engaging with the team and pushing us to be interactive with the venue. We had a number of unexplainable things happen over the course of the evening. looking forward to reviewing the footage I took. Laura was fab, looking forward to booking another event.

Our guide Adam was lovely and friendly and informative.
Our guide Adam explained everything to those of us who were new to this. He made us feel safe and secure and explained all the various equipment. It was a fun night and we even had some activity.
We will be going to more in the future!
Also, special mention to the gentleman who did the safety walk with us, they were great too. We will be going during the day too, to support the Sheffield Fire museum.

Unprofessional hosts at the Skirrid Inn…
Unprofessional hosts at the Skirrid Inn ghost hunt. Having attended previously with a different company we had high hopes but were left disappointed with one of our group even having a nap during the session.
One team member was googling information on her phone while at the church which completely ruined the vibe.
We were advised that the real fun would begin at midnight when the pub closed for the evening but we felt the evening became a joke from then on.
What followed was three hours of the hosts making sexual innuendos about the 'Judge' and 'Fanny' and a soul reliance on the ghost tube app - even when attempting to communicate via Ouiji.
Having attended other paranormal ghost hunts, we don't expect activity and understand that at authentic nights it may be quiet. However, after the opening talk about being respectful to the spirits, we were gobsmacked by the amount of times the host yelled out 'oh come and play with my balls Judge'...
The hosts ruined a fantastic venue and safe to say we will never attend another event with Haunted Houses!!

I'm genuinely sorry to read that your visit to the Skirrid Inn fell short of expectations, particularly as we understand how important the atmosphere and delivery are during a ghost hunt.
We take all guest comments seriously, especially when someone feels let down by our team. While we always aim to inject moments of humour where appropriate to keep the night engaging, it’s clear from your review that the tone in parts of the night didn’t resonate well with you — and I appreciate you sharing that perspective.
With regards to the use of a mobile phone at the churchyard, I will look into this with the relevant team member, as we agree it’s vital to protect the ambiance of each vigil. Similarly, your comment about the use of innuendo and the balance between entertainment and respect is noted. Although some guests enjoy a more relaxed approach during late-night sessions, we understand this isn’t suitable for everyone — and we will be reminding our hosts that tone and professionalism should always be judged carefully.
I’d also like to reassure you that tools such as GhostTube and similar mobile apps are not part of our official toolkit. If used at all, they should always be presented clearly as experimental and based on guest interest — never as a primary method. If the use of such tools felt repetitive on your night, we will certainly take that on board and review it.
Regarding the language quoted in your review, we’d like to offer a little context for readers unfamiliar with ghost hunting equipment or the venue’s history. The “balls” mentioned are standard paranormal trigger devices — touch-sensitive objects that light up when moved or touched, commonly used in vigils to detect possible spirit interaction. The name “Fanny” also refers to Fanny Price, a spirit historically linked to the Skirrid Inn. That said, we acknowledge that humour was used in those references, and we’ll be reminding our hosts that tone should always stay appropriate and be balanced thoughtfully with guest expectations and the respectful atmosphere of the venue.

An unforgettable night at Fort Widley!
My daughter and I had an absolutely amazing time on the ghost hunt at Fort Widley this past Saturday. From start to finish, it was such a good experience, and we're already buzzing about booking again in the future.
What truly made the night so great were the hosts. While all four hosts were fantastic, the two who led our group were particularly brilliant. Their enthusiasm, knowledge, and engaging personalities really brought the experience to life (or perhaps, un-life!). The group size was also perfect, allowing for a really intimate and personal investigation.
Overall, it was a thrilling and genuinely enjoyable night, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic paranormal experience!

Have been on a few spirit hunts how with this company, the people who run the night are lovely, very welcoming, friendly, and nothing sounds stupid to them. Non judgmental and really down to earth.
Different sites have different feelings so if your really looking to spirit hunt or ghost hunt I would suggest booking a few different places as not all are as active as you would think
