Predatory

I paid my loan in full, and was told I would get an email confirming this. i did not get this email, but the following day I did get an email offering me further finance, which I find predatory.

I was also contacted more than one about missing payments, when I paid above my minimum repayment each month.

Hello Bee, thank you for bringing this to our attention.

First, please accept our apologies—this is certainly not the experience we aim to provide.

It sounds like there was a synchronization delay between your final payment and our automated systems, which resulted in both the missing confirmation email and the ill-timed marketing message.

Regarding the payment notifications: if you were paying above the minimum, you should not have been flagged. We would like to investigate why our system didn't recognize your account as 'up to date' to ensure this doesn't happen to others.

Please reach out to us at customerservice@harmoney.co.nz so we can manually send your payoff confirmation and look into your account history.

We value your feedback as it helps us improve.

Kindly
Glen

Be careful with their "Won't affect your credit score"

I’m very disappointed with my experience with Harmoney. They advertise that applying for loan “won’t affect your credit score,” yet a credit inquiry appeared on my file even though I didn’t complete the application. That’s misleading and unfair.

To make things worse, I couldn’t even finish the process because Harmoney doesn’t integrate with Wise, which is my main account. So now I’m left with a credit hit for an application I couldn’t complete.

If you’re considering Harmoney, be aware that their “won’t affect your credit score” claim didn’t match my experience at all.

Frustrating process!

I'm finding the process extremely frustrating and unnecessarily complicated. I’ve provided all the required creditor information for a personal loan from a bank, including a settlement letter, which was initially accepted. However, when I tried to input the information into the dashboard, I was unable to proceed past the “code and reference” section.

The settlement letter clearly states that the funds are to be paid directly into my personal bank account, which naturally means there is no creditor reference or code. Despite this, I was told the letter still needs to be adjusted—although the current version already specifies that the funds will go into my own account. This seems redundant and makes the request for a reference or code irrelevant unless they want one specifically from me, which has not been clarified.

The entire process feels unnecessarily drawn out and confusing. To add to the frustration, the voicemails I receive are difficult to understand because the caller speaks too quickly or appears rushed.

This experience is making me feel uneasy about proceeding with the loan at all. If the communication and process are this unclear at the application stage, it raises concerns about what dealing with the loan going forward might be like.

Incompetent

I've been with Harmoney since 2019. Thier business practices are sketchy, and barely legal. When you apply for a top-up, they will role your new loan into an existing one, then increase the interest rates without explaining this.

I've recently applied for a top-up. It has been approved and the contract was ready to sign. They then deleted my contract before the due date and spun a lie about moving to a new system and that is the reason my approved loan was deactivated. To mention, my loan was approved after they moved to a new system.

I was then asked to reapply, which I did. Now my application is stuck in the bank details upload page. They can't accommodate SBS bank for some reason. I have been contacted by numerous representatives all asking the same bloody questions of when I will upload my bank statements. I'm tired of explaining the same story over and over since around 12 May.

I will be seeking debt consolidation elsewhere and close my Harmoney account ASAP.

Do not use Harmoney for your borrowing needs. They are incompetent and as mentioned, they will roll in a new top-up loan into your existing one, increasing the interest rates and resetting your payment plan to the maximum days

While most of the interactions were great including the offer including fast turnaround, I accepted my quote last Wednesday & because Harmoney are going through the migration to a new platform & system I had to accept the quote again today (Monday) which has delayed the payout. Ideally I would have liked the funds paid out last Thursday or Friday but apart from that everything was awesome & thank you Harmoney for backing me & coming to the party.
