No car available, car return issues and unknown damage
When I arrived at the desk no car was available from my class and they wanted to downgrade me. I did not accept and had to push back very hard, suddenly I got a car in the same (or higher?) class. When returning the car I put the key in the key deposit box. End of day I was called why I didn’t bring the car back. I told I did and they made a mistake. Free hours later I got an email that the window was damaged, which cannot be true. It feels like they didn’t like me and play this damage game.

We rented a car from this website about two months ago. The car suffered a minor collision and we had bought full cover. the company on this portal officially promised to contact us (I will quote below) but to this day no one has even sent an email and the hotline cannot report damage because they claim it was a full cover with the windshield turned off (which the company did not write in the policy before buying )

If you have booked a full insurance through HAPPYCAR with your provider, you are eligible to receive a refund for the incurred damage costs. All the insurance conditions about what is covered, can be found in your booking confirmation.
In order to open a claim and to request a refund for the damage costs, please go online to our contact form and select the correct reason for refund.
Please keep in mind that your provider can take up to 20 working days to resolve a claim.

I rented a car with full insurance from happycars.
While driving, I got hit by a rock in the windshield from another driver.
I reported the case 6 times using the forms on the site.
Unfortunately, the company has not responded to any of them and the hotline is blocked. Can't get my money back highly NOT recommend
they promised to contact, unfortunately, only on the trust remote, they continue to lie everywhere, about contact from them

I've used HappyCar a few times now, and now I know how it works, I will gladly use it again. It's easy to get your car and all your insurances at the best rate. The one thing you should always check because it's not always clearly marked, is that you rent a car that is on the airport, and not at a parking spot with a 15 min shuttle bus. I've accidentally booked that a few times, but it costs you so much time because the shuttle bus always takes a lot of time to get there. After making that mistake a few times, I'm very mindful in what I book and it works perfectly, but they should give it a bigger and more clear notification on their website when booking.
I've had one time that I've had to use the insurance, they paid very fast. So overall, I'm a happy returning customer!

ordered car not available substition inadequate
i have ordered and paid for a 5 doors nine seater car. Opel VIVARO or alike.
The car rental company used by Happy Car did only have a five seater. With 6 aduls and suitcases this was not doable. I have asked for an additional car. The cost involved were on me and i am waiting now for Happy Car to refund the EUR 197 cost of the rental for the additional car.

Don't book a car at Optimorent / Easy Car Hire in Catania!
We booked in February 2023 at happycar.nl a car for two days at Catania Airport. Happycar told us that the rental company was named Optimo Rent. The office was very hard to find, no one knew the company. In the end we found out that they changed the name and are now called Easy Car Hire.
After we finally found the office the lady at the counter was very aggressively trying to sell us their insurance, even when I told her that we did a full insurance from another party. This experience was not pleasant at all.
After this we went to pick up the car. I have to say that is was dark and the end of a big storm so it was still windy. We checked the cars exterior and did a quick scan of interior. This was a big mistake from our side, it turn out that the hatbox was missing. The guy that checked the car before taking the car “did not notice” it was gone, but when we came back with the car THE SAME guy was quick to point out that the hatbox was missing. This was very suspicious to me and I know 100% it was not their when we picked up the car because a big thing like that you will notice if it was their and then “stolen” as the guy suggested. There were also no signs of an break in into the car.
After closer inspection of the attachement point of the had box you could see it was broken a while ago because the black plastic was grayed out.
My point is this: stay away from this company! Yes it seems cheap but they charge us 326 euros for the hatbox. They look like professional scammers. Pay a bit more with a reputable car rental company and do not ruin your trip like we did. If you still decide to rent with this company make sure that you document the interior and exterior and take your time to do it!

damaged car
When I got the car they said it was a new car with no
dents or scratches. I went to the parking and found a very dirty car (on the outside) with dents and scratches all around. Not that it was a small scratch or something, no there where scratches all around the car and a small dent in the door of the car. I went back in and demanded that they wrote it on the agreement. I think that if I did not see this or report it they would have charged me afterwards. This is customer unfriendly and smells like fraud.

Don't book your car here, they advert with cars at a airport but you have to take a shuttle bus to some bad industrial place. Very very poor communication and no solution in terms of cashback. we've paid way to much for a airport service wich we never got, the shuttle service was way cheaper. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS CAR BROKER

Dont book with happycars. Arrived at Pisa and there was no reservation made for us. Nobody contacted us and all the cars were sold out. Ended up paying more for a car lastminute at another company.

worst company I have had contact to date. I suspected that I had not received confirmation from the official rental company, I contacted them by email 1 week before my trip. And I was informed that my reservation was canceled, NOBODY sent me nothing giving an information of the cancellation. They Didn’t answer the phone and the « solution » would reimburse me the amount paid in 10 business days, and they presented me with a proposal with twice the amount that I had already received the proof by email. A real disregard for the customer. In addition to not presenting any solution for reconciliation and repair of damages caused to the customer.
