Organised

Organised, professional, honest valuations. Had a couple of issues with the listings which were quickly rectified.

Postage department absolutely con.

Postage department absolutely con.
Bought a very small autograph book.
They are trying to charge £12 transfer fee? Plus £15 packing fee all on top of the postage cost.
They then agreed that I could send SAE .
So paid full invoice.
Now they are still trying to charge me a transfer fee and handling fee!!
AVOID.
Unless you can pick your item up .
AVOID

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear of your frustration regarding the postage and handling charges for your item.

Postage, packing and transfer fees can vary depending on the service requested, the handling involved and the location of the item prior to dispatch, though we appreciate these costs may not have met your expectations in this instance.

We would like the opportunity to review the correspondence and charges applied to your invoice so we can clarify the situation properly. Please contact us directly at media@hansonsauctioneers.co.uk with your invoice details and a member of the team will look into this for you.

First time auction user

This is the first time I have used an Auction House and I was impressed from the very first meeting to the auction itself.
I felt the valuations were fair and the whole process and communications were friendly and straightforward. So much so, that I went home looking for more items to be valued!
All but one item were sold and that will go into the next auction.
I would not hesitate to recommend Hansons in Newark to anyone and would like to thank them for a great experience.

Not to be trusted

Unfortunately not the first time commenting on the same failing. Having submitted several lots for inclusion in the August sale I noticed that once catalogued, one lot included items which were not mine. I contacted Hansons (Edwin) and the lot was withdrawn. The same issue occurred when the lot was included in a subsequent sale - again contact made and the lot withdrawn. The same issue arose when the lot was included in the February sale. This time Edwin sent me a photo of the lot and I explained which items were not mine. I received an email to say the lot was unsold so visited the auction house to collect the items. At this point, it transpired that in spite of multiple warnings the lot had indeed been sold. Many thanks to the two ladies on reception who dealt with the situation calmly and professionally. The responsibility here lies squarely with Edwin - disorganised, does not return phone calls and unable to act on reasonable instructions.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are very sorry to read about the repeated issues you’ve described and the understandable frustration this has caused.

The situation regarding lot allocation, withdrawals and communication is clearly concerning, and this is not the standard of organisation or service we aim to provide. We appreciate you recognising the professionalism of our reception team, and we take your broader concerns seriously.

Given the complexity and history involved, we would like to review this matter in full. Please contact us directly at media@hansonsauctioneers.co.uk

Newark

Initially had a contact issue when asking for a visit.
The auction had technical issues so was paused a couple of times.
On screen it looked like it was taking place in the corner of someone's garage
