Incredibly slow at settling money into the account, but VERY fast to take out overdraft fees. My debit card on a business account was shut down because of a fraudulent charge. New card was ordered, and after two weeks still hasn't arrived.

I can't get my money, at all, without going into a branch and getting cash. The business account app has no virtual card, so I can't connect it to digital wallets. Customer Service was useless at resolving this problem and told me I needed to open a personal account to get a digital card.

I deposited a check through the mobile app at 10:30 am Monday morning. It is still pending. Mind you this is a check from a Hancock Whitney account going into my Hancock Whitney account. While other banks move forward, Hancock is going back in time. When I called, the person on the phone told me there was nothing she could do, and also told me I shouldn’t use the mobile deposit, I should have just come in to the branch. So what is the point of a feature that is supposed to be for convenience. Their entire online presence and mobile app is barely functional and dated (mind you this is the new version they just rolled out). My employer switched to Hancock and so I did as well, but I will be pulling my account and returning to Chase. Do not bank here!!

Generally Bad Customer Service

I don't have any issues going into the branch but the customer service experience is very hit or miss. I put in a dispute of a charge and it has been 11 days and I've received no response. It's fine dealing with them but as soon as there's any problem it's always an extreme headache dealing with them to figure it out. I had no similar issues with Wells Fargo when I used to bank with them. Even my online banking with Venmo has gone smoother than it has with Hancock Whitney. It's a southern bank with southern problems I guess

Refusal to verify funds

A check was written on Hancock Whitney Bank from my mother's estate. I deposited it into Charles Schwab brokerage and I was informed by them that Hancock Whitney is refusing to verify the check, even after weeks of waiting.
There *absolutely* are sufficient funds for the check to clear, yet Hancock Whitney is determined to obstruct funds from going to the surviving heirs from a deceased parent's estate.
Heartless and unhelpful organization.

They “updated” their app but actually…

They “updated” their app but actually got a whole new app, didn’t tell customers and didn’t get rid of the old app. AND the new app is not nearly as user friendly as the old app. What is happening in America. Everything is so messed up. Nothing seems to work properly any more.

I am writing to express my frustration…

I am writing to express my frustration and disappointment with the service I received at the Hancock Whitney Bank drive-thru location on Elysian Fields Avenue on Saturday, 01/31/2026.

I arrived at the drive-thru a few minutes before 12:00 noon and was behind a white pickup truck. When I pulled up, the truck appeared as though it was about to leave, but instead the driver placed the vehicle in park and remained there for several minutes. After 12:00 noon, the driver then sent an empty canister to the teller.

When I pulled up immediately afterward, the teller refused to respond or assist me in any way. This was extremely frustrating, especially since I was present before the noon closing time.

I then contacted customer service to report the incident. I waited approximately 20 minutes to speak with a representative, who showed little concern about what had occurred and did not seem interested in documenting or addressing the issue.

This experience was unprofessional and unacceptable. Unfortunately, this is not the first negative experience I’ve had at the Elysian Fields Avenue location, and it has left me seriously considering moving my banking elsewhere.

I hope this matter is reviewed and addressed, as customers deserve better service and accountability.

Sincerely,
Soon to be banking elsewhere

I had a checking account here for a…

I had a checking account here for a number of years. I wanted to transfer money from my account to my wife's account at another bank. The web site is awful and I couldn't figure out how to do it so I sent them an email through their system. No response. I sent them another email and told them that if they couldn't tell me how to do this I would have to close my account. No response. I opened an account at another bank and began withdrawing money a little at a time. I finally went on the web site to see how much money I had left and withdrew that amount. Then I got a letter telling me that I was overdrawn and they charged me a fee for being overdrawn. Tomorrow I'll call them and make sure my account is closed and never do business with them again. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this bank.

Bank stole my money

This bank is really awful. They stole my opening deposit by restricting my account after opening and then pocketing the monthly fees while I couldn’t do anything about it. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BANK!

Online Banking is a nightmare

I did all my banking with Hancock Whitney for over 20 years. In recent years, they have closed most branches and ATMs are hard to find. The worse is their online banking which they have become so obsessed with security that it is difficult to use that service. They will suddenly disable your access and want you to get your computer professionally "cleaned" then give them a report. After doing that, it might be another device you use they don't like. It doesn't matter what your verify with them they want you heading to a computer shop. I would avoid banking with them.

Profit with OD fees - a thing of the past? Not with HWB

Despite being a long-time reliable customer who gets things done. HWB still charged me a 36-dollar overdraft fee for the same amount paid. Living in the old ages, I guess. HWB represents itself a loyal, community and customer-oriented bank. But it is actions like that which put this bank in the same category as BOA or Chase. Which is not a good one. Profit at all costs it seems. It is pretty disappointing how they handle situations like that. I took a loan for house improvements. Personal loan. Never miss a payment, just do my thing. Yet. No other offer, no options for a repeat. Just take the money and run it feels like. On top of that I was under the impression that overdraft fees are capped at 5 $ now. Still HWB takes 36!!! I had 2 of them in 6 years. Still, not even a courtesy wave. One can only hope that this profit making only thing of the past will go away. Banks make millions and maybe billions with that, praying on the folks who struggle the most. A 5 $ overdraft fee is reasonable, makes sense and still gives them some profit and it would not heard folks with low income nor retirees or so. But I guess that is not a main issue for larger banks.

So the account I have at Hancock…

So the account I have at Hancock Whitney Bank is in Bogalusa louisiana and Shay a black female that works there on Austin Street Bogalusa Louisiana, she illegally closed out my 3 accounts I had with them and was involved in stealing my money her and Gregory mangrum 985-750-0260 1631 Avenue G Bogalusa louisiana or 810 Redwood Avenue Bogalusa Louisiana! And he gets a s.s.i. check each and every single month and she comes from the projects she is born in 1985! And Shay is always talking about making it rain, and Shay has fake hair, and she tries to look on the up and up! When she is up to no good and stealing she needs to be arrested ASAP! This was in like 2018 or 2019! Although I will put the date of experience different

Scam bank

Stay away from this bank. Don't fall for those bonus traps; you will end up not receiving anything but a $20 maintenance fee each month. This bank is like a scam. Don't do any sort of business with them.

Worst bank ever

Worst bank I ever been with. I had money stolen from my savings and checking. This was my first time reporting fraud. Was told they was going to shut down my account and then be able to open another account. Was given a call yesterday that their closing out my account and I can’t bank with them which doesn’t make sense. Was told so many different things without an answer. Their fraud department is honestly the worst no customer service as a business owner I would never recommend this bank. If you ever think about banking with this branch run away as far as possible.

Despicable and dishonest

What despicable bank. Not only was my mother, a customer of 40+ years, promised a loan multiple times to get a vehicle, then it was taken away and the woman (Fran) said that she never said that - sorry, chick, you're SOL because I was ON that phone call.

Fraudulent transactions are reported and then suddenly the bank doesn't want my mother as a client anymore? Is it HER fault there are scammers out there? HW needs to have better security.

My mother has been a customer there longer than any of them have been alive.

Jimmy Benoit would be LIVID at this level of customer service.

This 1 star is for the mortgage service not directed at any one branch or person in a branch!! The company they use is awful. Their computer system apparently gets holidays off. It's a computer!!!! It does NOT recognize my phone number that it texts me and calls me on about a late payment! The computers take 5 or more days to talk to each other when a payment is made!!!

HORRIBLE SERVICE PANAMA CITY

Closed my debit card last Monday due to fraudulent charges. Called Panama City Branch in Bay County and spoke to Wanda who informed that my debit card was never ordered. Only she couldn't help me to expedite my card since bank error. I had to call whoever helped me last or call the 1800 number. Horrible experience and in ALL my days of Bank Management I could tell when someone is lazy and just doesn't want to do their job. Bank Error but Customer needs to figure it out. NOT GOOD WANDA AND PANAMA CITY BRANCH!!!

This bank is the absolute worst…

This bank is the absolute worst nightmare of a bank. I have never seen such crap with a banking institution in my 58 years of life. Starting with getting my debit card. Supposedly it takes 5 to 10 business days. Well I am STILL waiting and its been 3 weeks. After 2 weeks they supposedly put a "RUSH" 3 day delivery on it. And told me I was lucky because the $75 fee wouldn't be charged to me. How freaking kind of them haha. (It was NEVER sent via USPS) Then I was told it would be sent via FedX and she would call me with the tracking number today. But I had to call back and find out that she really meant it was being sent via UPS. I then was told it should be here by next week. What the heck was the point of a so called 72 hour "RUSH" delivery.... Not to mention I am going to be charged a monthly fee because I haven't had a direct deposit or debit card transaction (that would wave that monthly fee) that I cant do because I don't have a card. Then the rudeness of an employee telling me "Maybe you should contact Congress if this is bothering you" The list goes on and on. I will definitely NOT be continuing with this pathetic excuse of a banking institution.

An absolute joke of a bank

An absolute joke of a bank. Stuck in the 1920's, they refuse to upgrade with the rest of the world. What's fun is leaving $0 in an account just to watch it go negative because they penalize the poor customers. Lolz. Go fk yourselves Hancock, you will never get the money you charged a zero dollar account to get it negative. You are absolutely criminal.
Sincerely Trent Rapps, New Orleans customer hating Hancock since Katrina.
P.S.Seriously, your bank is an absolute joke. Please close it and sell it to Capital One or something.
