Love love love!! My blowouts last longer and my hair is soft and shiny. A small amount of New Wash goes a long way, so do y over use it. Be sure to rinse really well and you’ll love it too.

I have now been using New Wash (Original and Deep) since October and my hair has never been greasier. I have to wash every day, compared to shampoo which was 2-3 days before washing. I emailed with them to ask if this was normal, and they suggested I try Deep. But no difference. I was hoping this was it, the right product for my dry, thin hair but no, not at all. I will keep looking and hoping also I could still get a refund as both products did not work at all.

UPDATED: They've decided to heed my warning and a day after this review have refunded my account.
I have to agree with the reviews here. If I had only paid more attention to the reviews! (Sigh) First of all, I had NO idea that my one-time purchase would sign me up for a subscription. Not only did I not want another bottle of product, I now am having the time of my life trying to get a refund. My guess is they do not let you return anything. That's just BAD customer service! I know they've received my emails because they confirmed my subscription is cancelled but did not address the return. The first three emails I did receive a response but they only included a link for returns that sends you circling through their website, which doesn't have anything on it regarding their policy or how to mail the unwanted product back. Dirty. Rotten. Scoundrals. You've been warned!

This feels like the Emperor’s New Clothes. What a scam. It is terrible. And they expect you to have greasy hair for 6 weeks while using their terrible product and paying for the pleasure. My hair was lovely before and in good condition. I’m going back to normal shampoo. And I’ll be less gullible next time.

The most expensive hair product I have ever bought, but wanted to try it because I have a very itchy scalp and thought less washing and no harmful detergents might help. After 1 month of exclusive use my scalp is as itchy as ever and I still have to wash every other day as hair gets so greasy. I won’t be buying it again.

I've been using new wash original and sometimes rich, for around 18 months now. I LOVE these products. My hair is moisturised and manageable and I can leave it down from wet without having to heat stroke anymore. I've never been able to do this previously - and I've tried everything over the years. I was very surprised to see some of these other reviews. It does take a bit of getting used to, maybe they need to do a lighter version for some people. But I've always had great customer service from them and fast delivery. Product lasts ages. Happy customer.

It's working for me! I started this about 6 months ago and whilst I swapped back to traditional shampoo and conditioner once or twice, in the end I found that Hairstory seemed to be working very well. I have fine hair, not super thick but not super thin and given that I have highlights and am 58 years old, it previously tended to be dry, but the product leaves it feeling strong and soft. I went to have my blonde highlights done last week and the hairdresser asked me what I'd been doing, as she said she'd never seen my hair looking and feeling so healthy. You absolutely have to rinse and scrub your scalp A LOT, but it's still so much easer and quicker than endless washing and conditioning. I only wash my hair every 5 or so days and it looks fine with no greasiness or heaviness and is lovely to comb through. I'm not sure that it would work so well for people with thick hair and I use the standard product as I can imagine that the rich one would be very heavy. Anyway, having read so many negative reviews, I thought I'd put in my positive one! I took off 1 star just because it's a bit expensive, but I think worth it for just 1 product.

Don’t answer their emails. Charge so mich money for product, I was subscribed by mistake, took my money didn’t send me the product and now can’t reach them. Not to mention the build up on your scalp after using this.

I have used New Wash for 8 weeks now.

I’ll start with the good points:
• My roots are less oily than they were - I’ve gone from washing every other day to every 4 days.
• My hair is less knotty.
• When I complained to customer service about the first pouch of product I bought (on the recommendation of their quiz) New Wash Deep, they offered to replace it with Original free of charge straight away, no fuss.

Now, the bad:
• Hair always looks dull and lifeless, hangs in weird clumps rather than soft waves.
• Have to use a lot of product if you have long/thick hair, and you only get 260ml for £44 (!)
• My hair is falling out in huge amounts. I literally can’t brush my hair anymore as I’m losing so much it’s going thin.
• Customer service advice on how to use the product correctly sounds like guesswork. Obviously they’re not going to suggest not using it anymore, but that sounds like the answer to many complaints - this product doesn’t suit a lot of people, including me!

In short: I wish I’d googled the reviews before buying. Will be discontinuing use and asking for a refund. Avoid this product, especially if your hair is already thin, as there seems to be a common issue with it causing hair loss.

Have been gradually transitioning away from shampoo - first, using sulfate and silicone free products, then washing less often, then moving to co-washing. I thought that if this product lived up to the hype, it might be worth the expense.
Three weeks later, I've had to ask for a refund. My hair is unbelievably dry and straw like and started to shed/break off at an alarming rate. Not only could I not wash and leave to air dry, I'm having to buy extra products to repair the damage. This may work for some people, but not for me.

I have been using HairStory Rich for about Four months now. At first I really loved it. I even bought the brush, the dry shampoo and then leave in air dry crème. For whatever reason the last month or so my hair turned into being limp, greasy, disgusting, lifeless! I thought I was losing my mind. Never did I think Hair Wash would be the cause. Just stumbled across the other reviews and so many stories are similar to mine. Extremely disappointed and I’m sure it’s too late to get a refund. Stay away

I purchased this on 19th July and have got through what I consider to be the settling phase. Now out the other side, my hair at best is no different, at worst, it’s more frizzy than before and I’ve noticed some thinning at the front (my hair has always been very thick with no issues at all - except slight frizziness). I’ve asked for my money back.

This stuff is awful. It smells exactly like my compost bin and left my hair looking like straw. It's just a con.

The good:
-almost no plastic in the packaging
-very moisturizing

The bad:
-ineffective
-expensive while being ineffective

I really wanted this product to work, I should have waited for more reviews to come in before I tried it. Things that went wrong:
-my hair is about 17 inches long so "trying" turned out to be expensive as I had to use more product
-I thought a $40 pouch was pricey but not a terribly huge commitment to try... problem is, I had to buy the $90 pouch after less than a month because I was running out and my hair hadn't adjusted to the product yet
-"adjusting" isn't great. I've been using new wash exclusively for over two months now and my hair is frizzier, knottier, and stays clean for a shorter amount of time than it ever has. I tried everything they suggest- rubbing it in more, rinsing it out more, using it more often... there's no difference. Tried blow drying it, washing at night and sleeping with a bun, using it daily... nothing made it better.
-I used to wash my hair every other day and it was fine. with new wash, it gets disgusting after 36 hours.
-no matter how much you rinse, your hair never comes out exactly clean. and no, I don't normally have oily hair, even with washing my hair every other day

I think this is a product that might work better for those with curly or wavy hair, as the added (natural? product?) oils would help define. For straight hair, it doesn't do anything positive. The only thing I would use it for is a deep conditioner, and I would not pay this much for a deep conditioner. My hair has felt less heavy when I put LITERAL OIL in my hair.

Hairstory is possibly the greatest beauty scam known to man. It is an astonishingly overpriced hair product that doesn't do anything good. Hair loss was considerable, zero volume, limp and just awful. Do not waste your money, you will regret it.

I have fine, wavy and curly hair that frizzes easily. I used JUST the shampoo and forgot about doing anything else and fell asleep. The next morning, my husband said, "Oh, your hair! What did you do?" I ran to the mirror and my hair was BEAUTIFUL. It looked like I had spent actual time on it. Loose curls and defined waves. It was really something!
My stylist showed me to use an inch or so only and work it with water into the scalp with a shampoo brush. Let the remnants go through the rest of the hair.
Love it.

I bought this product with high hopes. I have fine blonde hair and a flaky scalp. No matter how long I rinse it for I end up with a waxy greasy coating on my hair that makes my bright blonde hair look dark and greasy, it's worse directly after washing and takes forever to dry. Gutted as this is an expensive product. DO NOT BUY.

I bought hairstory original and texturising spray. I have been on no shampoo (water only) regimen for a year and wanted something that will not ruin the results of it but allows me to get the clean-clean look when needed
Whilst my hair looks nice, my scalp developed itchy hard bumps. I never had any issues with my scalp for over 12 months and this happened literally straight away after first use.
Not impressed

This left my hair limp and greasy within hours of washing: I only wash my hair once a week anyway, but this product meant I had to wash 2-3 times, and then use a lot of dry shampoo in between (I had to add dry shampoo when my hair was dried immediately after wash). I have also experienced more hair loss. I will not be buying it again, and concerned about the long-term health of my hair.

I bought this product after reading a review in a magazine. I used it for the recommended ‘transition’ period and my hair is still super dry and sits flat on my head at the roots.
To be clear, I have thick hair that’s usually quite moist. Such a shame that something that could be a good solution is so ineffective.
