DO NOT BUY

t's a same I can't give 1 Star.

DO NOT BUY!!!

The Scooter broke down 1 week after we had it. It wouldn't start although fully charged. We contacted them and the responses were sarcastic and inefficient. They get their Scoters from China and they expect China to send spare parts etc. They had no idea what it was. They assumed from the description we gave them, what it could be and said they will ask the company in China to tell them what it was and send a spare part!!! I told them to bring the scooter to to have a look but they refused. When I asked when it will be delivered, the guy on the phone said that he cannot predict the future!!!

We requested a refund as it is within our legal rights as consumers and they kept ignoring the request, asking us to bring it to have it fixed. We had no intention to have changed since at this point the trust was gone. Keep in mind that nowhere on their site it says that they can repair the scooters.

Finally, we spoke with The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission who told us exactly what to do to get our money back.

Long story short, DO NOT BUY.

Simply - Don't be robbed by this company!

If you are considering purchasing from GyroWheel.ie / Ciarán Hughes trading as Electric Unicycle please think again!

- Bought Scooter from GyroWheel.ie on the 8th November 2018 (Trading As Electric Unicycle a registered as a sole trader by Ciarán Hughes)

- Within 1 day of purchase and testing the vechile. The i7 Scooter lost power completely. Having phoned Mr Hughes to explain my issue his immediate verbal response was that I must have damaged the scooter or changed the settings. I had to return the scooter to Mr Hughes home which he fixed in 24 hours and and asked me to collect from him again

-26th March 2019 my scooter collapses with the steering column snapping off the scooter. Luckily I was not injured. Emailed GyroWheel.ie and request full refund for damaged scooter. Mr Hughes responded asking me to return the device for assessment. He never offered an apology or was concerned of my wellbeing.

- Scooter was returned to Mr Hughes on 9th April by UPS. Returning the scooter was an additional expense. I've now forked out over €700. On the same day I spoke to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission who assisted me with a template to request full refund under my consumer rights.

- Mr Hughes provided an assessment to the scooter which he claims was "Force Sustained to cases this breakage was by sudden impact against a pathway step, pothole or similar" Mr Hughes also states to the damaged scooter being "accidental damage and not an inherent fault with the scooter". This was a terrible assumption and disputed in court.

- Despite requesting full refund. Mr Hughes decides to repair the vechile although this was never requested. He then requested an additional €50 repair invoice to be paid and he will return my scooter. Mr Hughes has and still has my scooter in his possession since the 10th April 2019.

- I raised the case with the Small Claims Court. (Justin Dawson -vs- Electric Unicycle - D:SC:DUNL:2019:005054). Ciarán disputed the claim on the 23rd July 2019 which resulted in a District Court hearing on 7th January 2020.

- In the court hearing the judge summed up that Mr Hughes is not a qualified engineer to repair these vechiles, is selling potentially dangerous products and awarded in favour of the claimant with full refund on return of the vechile which Mr Hughes already has in his possession

- I requested refund from Mr Hughes on several attempts which he has ignored. With the court decree issued The Dublin County Sherriff has also investigated.

- Mr Hughes in his attempt to dodge refunding my owed money has ceased the name "Electric Unicycle" with the Company Registrations Office as of February 2020 however still trades on his website GyroWheel.ie

Dont get caught out purchasing from GyroWheel.ie

Still no contact, still no communication, still no refund!
