I’m extremely disappointed with my…

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience with Gulf Air. I booked my ticket nearly two months in advance, along with many other passengers, at what was a reasonable fare at the time.

Recently, due to geopolitical tensions and rising fuel prices, flights were affected—but now that airspace has reopened and flights are operating again, it’s very concerning that my flight scheduled for 10 May 2026 was suddenly cancelled. What makes this worse is that the airline is still running flights on the same routes, but at significantly higher prices.

It feels unfair that passengers who booked early at lower fares are being penalized, while new tickets are being sold at inflated rates. This raises serious questions about transparency and customer fairness.

I expected better reliability and integrity. Cancelling flights under these circumstances, without proper justification or suitable alternatives, has caused major inconvenience and financial stress.

I hope Gulf Air reconsiders how it treats its customers in situations like this. As it stands, this experience has been very frustrating and disappointing.

Customer Service Don’t Care

I appreciate this is difficult times with the ongoing conflict. What I don’t appreciate or accept is being putting on hold and then hung up on after being in a call queue for over 45 minutes. It is unacceptable customer service. Clearly the agents can’t be bothered helping and this is common based on the reviews I can see!

Refusal to provide the Refund Application Number

Refusal to provide the Refund Application Number for flights that they have themselves cancelled. No reply to calls, whatsapp, mails, X, twitter, instagram for the 48 hours. No information provided. All is organized so that one cannot receive information and get refunded.

Booked return flights London to Dubai…

Booked return flights London to Dubai transiting through Bahrain for April 2026. The Middle East airspace crisis has made Bahrain one of the most disrupted hubs in the region.

Called Gulf Air directly and was told they can only confirm whether flights are operating one week before departure. One week. That is not enough time to make alternative travel arrangements when you have visa appointments and banking deadlines that cannot move.

Their own rebooking and refund policy only covers flights up to 15 April for rebooking and 31 March for refunds. My flight on 19 April - just 4 days outside the window - gets no protection despite the exact same crisis affecting it.

When I asked for help, I was told to contact my booking agent. No direct assistance, no flexibility, no accountability. If you are flying through Bahrain right now, think carefully.

Reference SR260058454 and SR260058455 / flight GF 567 and GF 19

"Delay - the first plane from Oman was late so they refused to let in the second one to Paris. "Apparently" because of our luggage they cannot recovered in time.
2 people arrived at the same time and let them go and enter to the plane. We waited a loooong time to find a new "solution". They wanted us to stay at the airport and take a plane 24 hours after. After that, we take a new flight for Doha with a new transfert again to Paris. Initially we didn't have another transfert and we arrived to Paris at 1 pm whereas it was recovered at 7 am. We missed there the train we had booked and had to book a new one : 50 euros x 2. I need to be reimbursed for that and a compensation for that incredible situation. Not my fault that the first plane of your company was late. Same company, you knew that we were arriving, so many people in that situation. I really don't understand..."

One and only bad experienced flight in the world

Hi team,

flight :- GF0271 depart from COK on 30/01/2026
at 4:50 (Ref:- NKRRBQ)

i am very disappointed on that day because of check in team manager( Cochin international airport Gulf air night shift ). I dont know staff name and any other details i can provide he is working at night shift and i was travelled alone with infant baby 29 of Jan 2026 mid night. I had problem with ticket confirmation from behrin customer service and one of the check in staff helped me for call customer service and i am very happy for that but manager was very rude to him becasue of staff given phone and Manager was shouted infornt of evryone. Thats not good manner, the staff who helped me getting sad, i can say to the manager, who are you. You are just departement manager not head of airline.. when i catch you next time in airport. I will teach you how to behave to staffs and customers..
I am looking and finding actually his name as soon as possible. I will not close this case until i catch that old guy.. Very shame CIAL and i will share this situation to my friends and social media as well

During times of emergency

During times of emergency, they do not prioritise their customers. They have turned off all available outlets of contact in order to avoid processing refunds or cancellations.

I am being held in a foreign country and there is no customer support to help.

Worst customer service

Worst customer service, you can't get through to them on phone or any other social media platforms. I paid for booking my seats around £100 and my flight got cancelled, it's impossible to get the refund and the lady on the phone was so rude. Worst customer service, please do not fly Gulf Air especially when you are booking from the UK. Appalling.

Perfect flight

We flew with Gulf Air in November from London Heathrow to Bangkok and had an absolutely brilliant experience throughout. The outbound flight was smooth, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. On the return journey, the crew continued to impress with their welcoming attitude. There were no delays, and the aircraft was well maintained.
The in-flight entertainment was perfect, and we appreciated the snacks and drinks provided throughout the flight. Although the food was basic, it was absolutely fine for the journey. Initially, we were a bit hesitant after reading some reviews, but we’re happy to say there was no need to worry, everything was fantastic.
We will definitely choose Gulf Air again for our future travels!

We flew with Gulf Air October 2025 and…

We flew with Gulf Air October 2025 and to the run up we were really nervous as a lot of the reviews were really bad ….. however 4 flights later travelling London Heathrow - Bahrain - Bangkok & return we have nothing but praise for this airline. Staff were fab and friendly, food wasn’t too bad, entertainment was fine. We had no delays and even landed before the scheduled time 😁 no lost luggage. All in all a very positive experience and would 100% fly with them again!
Bahrain airport also one of the nicest airports we have travelled to 😁

Very satisfying

Very satisfied with Gulf Air. In early February, heavy fog forced Bahrein airport to close and my flight was cancelled. Despite this, everything was handled properly and taken care smoothly. Great service overall

Damaged baggage, unfair compensation, no dialogue

My checked baggage was damaged on a Gulf Air international flight. The damage was reported immediately at arrival.

Although the airline acknowledged the damage, they offered only EUR 60, claiming that luggage older than five years is automatically considered “wear and tear”. This is their internal policy, not a rule under the Montreal Convention.

After I asked for a review of the compensation, Gulf Air refused and stopped responding.

Very disappointing customer care and a clear disregard for passenger rights.

that many passengers often complain about for poor or disappointing service — based on surveys, public reviews, and customer feedback. Note that these reflect general reputation / common complaints, not official safety ratings — and some airlines dispute rankings or are working to improve.

No drinks served

This is the worst airline I have ever flown with. I flew Manchester to Bahrain. Then Bahrain to Colombo via Male. We were offered only 2 drinks in 18 hours. This is not acceptable to prevent dehydration. Cups of water were served with meals only. No spirits or beer on either flight. Flight crew ignorant and kept in the galley with the curtains closed. No response to calls. Most airlines offer regular drinks and not just water. Terrible and I will never use this airline again
