A bad buy Grundig Fridge Freeze
We purchased a Grundig American Style Fridge Freezer 18 months ago. Our first call-out was just 1 month, the control panel on the front did not work properly. the next call-out was June 2021 the Ice Maker broke. August 2121 the Lights on the front stopped working. An engineer came out, could not fix it, then said he would order the parts, he returned on 15/08/21 with parts and again said he could not repair the lights and would have to order a New Door.
On the Afternoon of 25th after the engineer left l phoned customer support. After a long discussion regarding the Product and my 2-year Guarantee only has 6 months left and how utterly l was now worried that no one would give me an extended Guarantee, he agreed that it was not good and gave me an Uplift number that l should take to Currys and they would take care of an exchange. On arrival at Currys the service young lady got through to Grundig and was told the number l was given was not an uplift number.
It was nothing. I was blatantly lied to. Looking on Grundig website 40 minutes ago, they do not have an American Style Fridge Freezer listed.

Paid for the door handle to be fitted on the right. It took them 2 weeks to send someone as no one was trained to do the job. Then the top shelf in the fridge door broke. The lid fell off. Trying to get a new shelf is impossible . Don't buy from Grundig!

Appalling. Waited on the phone for 45 minutes and no one picked up.. don’t know how I’m supposed to get my appliance sorted. Had no end of problems with my appliance and they keep putting a band aid over the problem without just sorting the major issues.

Never answer the phone no matter how long you stay on it. The only way to register you problem is via their website. I got response and they arranged an engineer. they gave me Reference for Engineer Booking [97334558]. But never turned up. I called the engineering company they told me that Grundig cancelled my visit. No reason given, no contact, no email to say why! and I cannot get to them through the phone.
Appalling service
I have a Grundig dishwasher that has is showing an error code and doesn’t work. I have tried to call Grundig and Biko via their customer service numbers. Both send me to the same recorded message where I’m kept on hold for 30 minutes plus then the call is disconnected. I’ve had some replies to email messages then when I explain there is a fault I hear no more. The machine is still under warranty so other engineers reluctant to fix it as they are concerned that they won’t get the parts. This is appalling customer service. I would give 0 stars as a grade if I could.
My Grundig upright fridge packed up…
My Grundig upright fridge packed up after 5 years service with brown rust- coloured powder appearing in the vegetable drawers. Turns out the evaporator is leaking! Now a major schlep to replace at around R3000. Seems better to buy a new one of another make
and return this one to the scrap heap. It was a nice fridge until it broke. No more Grundigs for me!
Fridge Freezer under 3 years old failed. AVOID
We bought this fridge freezer less than 3 years ago, and are replacing it with another make in two days!
Think it has always had a problem with temperature control, but this only recently started showing up as a warning light came on and an Error Code 4.
Nothing in handbook but search online seems to confirm problem.
If you want you can try claim on the 5 year warranty by the manufacturers but then you'll be without your fridge freezer while they fix it.
Have seen a few similar complaints on Grundig appliances which is a shame as Grundid used to be a good name for reliability.
Am so disappointed and won't be buying Grundig products again.
I will never buy another Grundig…
I will never buy another Grundig machine again in my life and can honestly suggest you consider a non-Arçelik (Beko, etc) made machine for your next purchase. Bought it based on five year warranty, that it (used to be a) premium brand and specification was what I wanted. I couldn't have been more wrong! Broke down after 16-months and whilst I can't complain about the initial contact to get an engineer sorted, absolutely everything apart from that has been a disaster. Reliability - terrible. Service - terrible. Spares - terrible. I gave an extremely detailed report of the fault, what I'd done (checked filters, another power source, etc etc etc) and engineer arrived with no parts and spends 3 minutes with me repeating EXACTLY what I'd reported on phone only to report "seen this before, needs a new board". Why didn't he being a board with him!!! Now I'm waiting on part being shipped, engineer to call again and three weeks on I've still no working washing machine. This product cost me £500 and could have bought two cheaper machines for the money but thought I was buying a better machine, totally incorrect. Seriously, reconsider your purchase if you're thinking of a Grundig branded machine.

I bought a Grundig tall larder fridge in 2016 with an extended Warranty. I also bought the matching freezer.
This year (2021) the fridge stopped cooling and brown sludge appeared inside the fridge - looked like rust.
I phoned the warranty company and was told an Engineer would visit but not for a couple of weeks because they were very busy. Then I get a call from Grundig to say that there is a fault with all of these fridges built between 2015 and 2016. Cant be fixed. Something to do with the heat exchanger on the back (like a grill) not having the correct anti rust treatment. So, the item was to be replaced. I was given an uplift no. After some back and forth discussions with Currys, who wanted to give us a refund of just £80! I spoke to a customer services lady at Currys and she said once I had the Uplift no from Grundig it was a simple case of going to a local Currys, choosing a new fridge and paying any difference in price between what I originally paid and the price of the new fridge and it would be ordered and delivered subject to stock, and the faulty fridge taken away. I visited a Currys and after they again tried to offer £80 they then agreed to do the above. So if you have a fridge with these problems, it is a known fault. Contact Grundig direct for an Uplift code. Hope this helps.

We have had our Grundig washing machine for less than 2 years and has gone wrong yet again this time it needs a new heating element. We had to wait a long time for a engineer to visit who was making us look silly saying you wouldn't know that the machine is heating up really you only have to feel the door .Now we are waiting for the part for over a week which I don't understand when nearly all places have them in stock .This machine is a Beko with a Grundig badge with a huge mark up in price to cover the crop 5 years parts and labour guarantee.Whats worse is the incredible time waiting in a queue on the phone to get it sorted

Grundig heatpump dryer - Purchased a Grundig heat pump dryer a few years ago, it has already developed a fault, the pump stopped working, I have not even used it very often as I have two dryers, and I mainly use my other dryer with the vented hose, it goes to show that these heat pump dryers are not reliable, it worked well when I first purchased it, but there really should not be a problem with a low user and only after less than 2 years, its disappointing, it cost me a lot of money to purchase.
This is my final purchase from Currys.
My Grundig tall larder fridge has stopped cooling after 5 years. The drain to the drip tray was blocked with brown/red sludge, and the interior bottom, behind the salad drawer, was covered in brown/red dust. This I have learned is due to an internal rust problem, with is unsurprising, as the finish at the bottom front corner of the side panel and door have both rusted through the white enamel finish.

DO NOT buy a Grundig larder fridge!! We have only had this fridge 3 years, cost over £600, but for the last 2 years it has slowly deteriorated with brown liquid/dust seaping out of the vents inside the fridge. The smell is like rotten eggs. After reading reviews we can see that other people have had this problem too. We will never ever buy any appliance again from Grundig!!!!
48hrs for an engineer to visit? Really? And even longer to complete the paper work!!!’
We bought a Grundig fridge freezer from Currys. The type with fridge and freezer displays, and alarms when the temperature rises. Unfortunately the compressor malfunctioned last week, which day we are unsure, as the refrigeration and freezer displays stayed the same -18 freezer & 5 dogs for fridge however when switch off and back on, the true temp was 2 degs for Freezer and 9degs for fridge. Clearly the refidgeration had broken sometime before but the state of the art product didn’t work. The display may as well be written in chalk. Having had a full fridge and freezer full which spoiled approx £250+ Grundig who designed and manufactured the product blamed Currys as they sold it to me, it’s their fault. Surprise surprise , Currys blame Grundig!! So who’s to blame? Further more Grundig felt it reasonable for me to wait 48hrs prior to an engineer visiting to try and fix it. Once written off they also claimed it would be another 68 hours before they could write off the fridge freezer due to the weekend and they were off. These people just don’t realise how necessary this equipment is for every day life, however they will be more than willing to tell you when they’re trying to sell you one but not when they have to fix it.
Worse company & Appliances EVER!!
Washing Mashine Fault - My grinding washing mashine has now broke nearly 10 times infact it could be more, since I bought it they have replaced the washing mashing too but again the same faults keeps happening. The motor has gone twice & the belt keep snapping along with other issues where the washing mashing is not useable.
This time the motor has gone over a month ago now and there was all smoke coming from the washing mashine. The engineer come out and said he needs to order parts 2 weeks ago now and I’ve still had no update as to when they are coming back. I’ve rang 4 times to be told each time they will call me back in 48 hours but they havnt on any of the occasions. I’ve also emailed and all I’ve had is a reply saying sorry for the delay somebody will call me when there is an update but again still no call.
I’m a key worker with 3 school age children 2 of which has special needs and I’m being left with no washing mashine and having to wash clothes in the sink.
I will never ever buy another product from this company again and would never recommend them either. They are the worst company I’ve dealt with in my whole life and they literally don’t care about customer service at all.

So we bought a fridge freezer 2 years ago and it’s had a fault three times but they still keep trying to repair rather than replace. This morning they told me they would have have repaired it 5 times before even considering a replacement, the ongoing fault is it freezes everything in the fridge too. When I explained I had to store insulin he just said sorry about that and hung up on me

Very poor service
I have been waiting over a month for a part for my washing machine. Grundig customer service is very poor and staff very clueless they keep saying that someone will phone you back to let me what's happening ( checking where the part is). After calling very regularly one staff member told me that the part was has arrived in and someone will call me, guess what they never!! so yes more and more calling... Another staff member saying no part has arrived so they clearly making things up as they go along!!
Frustrated customer
Purchased a grundig washing machine through currys, 5 years parts and labour, had it less than than 5 years, its started leaking, first time I have rang them for someone to come and repair it. Was on the phone for over an hour, the two grundig advisers were useless, awful attitudes didn't basically care, took ages just to get general details up on screen, in the end I had to put phone down on them as they didn't have a clue, it was like knocking your head against a brick wall, currys were not much better either, still got a leaking washing machine. Grundig Tall Larder Fridge…
Should be zero stars at best...Bought the Grundig Tall Larder Fridge GSN10720W from Currys. Worked okay for 5 years, and I really liked the space inside the fridge and the look of it.
HOWEVER, it has suddenly stopped working and there is a brown powder and sticky brown sludge that has appeared at the bottom of the fridge beneath the salad drawers. I cleaned it up a few times thinking something had spilled inside the fridge but it suddenly stopped working last week and all the food was spoiled. Vegetables in the bottom drawer were covered with the brown powder. It cannot be safe.
On reading other reviews, it seems to be a very common problem with rusting inside the back of the fridge. I seem to have got a few years more out of my fridge than other people got! Phoned both Currys and Grundig and were told as it is a few months outside warranty nothing can be done. Terrible customer service from Grundig on the phone with the advisor sounding like they were reading from a script and told to phone Currys again as they sold it to us. There is obviously a widespread issue with the manufacture of this fridge and I would AVOID AT ALL COSTS! You will regret it.
