Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 271 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed dissatisfaction with the delivery service, citing issues such as late arrivals, missing items, and unwanted substitutions. People also reported problems with product quality, including items with short use-by dates, mouldy produce, and even a dead spider found in biscuits. The ordering process was often described as difficult, with frequent website crashes and unfulfilled orders. Furthermore, many consumers found the customer service unhelpful and unresponsive, struggling to get refunds or resolve issues. However, some people mentioned positive experiences with the delivery drivers, describing them as friendly and helpful. A few customers also reported receiving their orders on time and with all items present, occasionally even receiving better substitutions for out-of-stock products.

I will never use Asda again.

I will never use Asda again.
Not to be trusted, I ordered a shop earlier in the week which came minus alot of what I ordered for substitutes.
They have tried to take £225 from my bank account this morning!
I paid earlier in the week, this is a completely different amount and I've ordered nothing!
Customer service woman absolutely clueless so I've stopped the pending amount with my bank and cancelled my bank card.
I had this a few years back and stopped using them.
Definitely won't be ordering with them again.

This was the first time we used Asda…

This was the first time we used Asda home delivery (Carlisle), we have always used Tesco.

Ordering was easy, products were easy to find, booking a delivery date was a doddle.

Had no issues with substitutes, clicked for no substitutes and didn't get any.

The shopping was so much cheaper than Tesco and we got a lot more, we buy a lot of Tesco Finest, we bought a few Asda Exceptional.

Delivery was within the two hour slot, the driver was lovely, she couldn't have been more helpful

Asda have definitely fallen in product…

Asda have definitely fallen in product quality. I find a lot of their food tastes absolutely horrid. Purchases some taramasalata yesterday and the taste blew me away! It was absolutely disgusting.. sour lemon mayonnaise and I doubt there is any actual cod roe in it. I went online to check the ingredients and what it says on the packaging and what I read were not the same at all.. it says fish roe online but cod roe on the packaging. I then left a review of how vile it tasted. It went live and then they hid the review through their AI tool they use. Outrageous...asda has gone so far downhill since the take over and that's a shame as I wont be shopping there anymore!

Disappointed

Every single time, late delivery, Missing Items, refused refund on line, then you have to spend time calling them. Plus on the other hand you still don’t have what you need it and have to go to the shop yourself 😡.

Shameful excuses and bad service

Once again computer issues, it really is disgraceful when customers are paying for delivery passes and find once again cannot check out, items you add do not appear. Every time I use Asda online I have to clear all my data I have changed my browser, contacted customer service who were not helpful, also contacted my local branch I order from the man I spoke to for advice how to checkout my groceries after numerous attempts was patronising proming to ring back with some help but of course never did. I think customer loyalty is stretched beyond belief now I know I am certainly going to shop with Tesco it's reliable and how many times can you keep checking to see if Asda has technical issues, they do not respect or care about their customers. We should be allowed to cancel our delivery pass with a refund for days that the computer is yet again not working.

PLEASE DO NOT USE

Order arrived on time but was only ambient items. Driver explained big mix up with several orders and that chilled and frozen items would be delivered next day. When I called customer services to check delivery times I was told driver had cancelled missing items, and therefore once refunded the items could not be delivered. I am totally non weight bearing following an op , hence the online order! I was left with bread but no spread or filling for sandwich and no food items . The dog food arrived , so he'll be fine!
To add insult to injury , the online shopping duty manager promised to call me back and hasn't. The order was £123 and they refunded £60!
PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT USE ASDA IF YOU ARE VULNERABLE, UNABLE TO GET OUT OR RELY ON THE DELIVERY ETC!! I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN.

ASDA PRICE

ASDA PRICE, ROLL FORWARD AND ENJOY?!
On 23 March 2026, I bought a pair of Bluetooth from Asda store in Broughton, Preston, display priced £15.98. On 27 March 2026 returned it due to fault and had it replaced at which time I realised that I was charged £19.98 at the time of purchase without being informed. I then enquired at customer service desk as to the reason for this and why I was not informed the price difference? Only to be told that “the wrong barcode was attached to the good and she was sorry!” to me? It is called misleading the consumer.
Since 27 March 2026, I have written three email to Asda customer services for an explanation and yet to receive a response!
The question is; what other products Asda attaches the wrong barcode? NO CONFIDENCE IN THIS RETAILER.

Will go elsewhere once delivery pass runs out

Have a delivery pass so have stuck with them but short shelf life a real issue. This week ordered 10 fresh items and had to return 5 of them. Drivers always pleasant and helpful but they are let down by the people picking the products. Won’t be using once pass runs out.

Constantly receive items due out of date

Constantly receive items due to go out of date the very day I receive them, or the day after. How can I be expected to finish a months worth of meat, vegetables and bread within two days of receiving my shop. Items usually missing. Substitutions arent always horrific but are present in every order.

Had a delivery today and thankfully realised one or two items were missing. Asked and the driver said he’d have a look. Brought back two full crates of shopping and said they were hiding in the back. Shopping I’d have not received had I not noticed a couple things were missing, which can’t always be the case when you’re grabbing hundreds of pounds worth of food.

Feedback from an unvalued customer

I recently opened an account with Asda and booked my first online delivery. On the email confirmation, I noticed that the name of my property was missing from the delivery address even though it was on my online account. Customer Services were appalling and advised me to cancel my delivery and start again but what would change if my full address was on my account, I asked. No answer. Then it was suggested that I contact Asda on the day of my delivery to give them my full address. There clearly was an issue with their computer system or a genuine admin error, I said. Surely they could rectify this. But No. Then I was disconnected. I gave up and closed my account which was very disappointing as I had only opened it a couple of days ago. They did not seem to care.
One star is one too many.

I will never ever use this insanely bad…

I will never ever use this insanely bad service again. They gave me a £20 voucher if I spent £40 for a click and collect. I spent over £65 so more than enough. The voucher worked and everything was good. They sent me an email on the day of the collection to let me know a lot of the items was missing so they removed the voucher but still charged me full price for the remaining items! Not anywhere does it say this in the terms. I called to complain and no surprise it's an overseas call centre that I had to call 3 times to get someone to understand me. I complained about how they take the voucher away when it's their fault some of the items wasn't there! I was offered another voucher that they said I could spend right away as compensation. They didn't bother sending it. I called again and this time they did send it. So I spent exactly the voucher amount then I noticed you still get charged £5 if you don't spend over £40! So basically all they've done is give me the same voucher that I have to do the same process again and hope they have everything in stock or again lose the voucher again! How is this compensation ASDA??? I've went to the store and they actually had everything I ordered so this to me is a con to get you to buy online!! I have shopped online with Tesco and Sainsbury's and whenever I've used a voucher and items aren't available I still get the voucher!!

Bought an imported leg of lamb last…

Bought an imported leg of lamb last week on special offer. Tasted more like liver and the vacume bag was full of jelly because the joint was packed whilst still warm after slaughter. Surely a company as large as Asda can demmand better from the boning plant/ importer.
