Grippy Tyres Reviews 

Grippy came recomended to me and I used grippy tyres because they will fit tyres in the evenings, which for someone like myself who works full time is a god send! The fitter was friendly and polite and he called to tell me when he was 30 mins away. This in itself was great as I could get on with my day and be waiting when he arrived. Their prices were extremely competitive and their Internet booking experience was painless . I would not hesitate to use grippy again and have recommended them to a friend who has used them as well!

One of the most trouble-free and easy experiences I've had with any work to do with a car. Grippy's tyre technician was on time and quickly replaced my car tyres. He was knowledgeable and friendly. The service was easy to book and I had no trouble finding the tyres I wanted. The price was very competitive. Not having to lose time visiting a car garage/workshop where they make you wait while trying to sell you all sorts of extras and add-ons and also overcharging you is a huge plus of Grippy's service.

Booking the job was quick and easy. I get to compare different tyres performance and price. Booking is easy and I'm re-assured when I see almost immediately which engineer will visit. The guy was friendly and professional. Good value service and I have recommended to friends and will use again.

So, I had 2 tyres fitted to my 4x4, the remaining 2 tyres were to be balanced - although the driver quite rudely disputed this at first until he re-read his work sheet and decided that I was right.
The two new tyres were inflated to 45psi, 15psi more than the car manufactures recommendation. I didnt find this out until a week later as at the time I asked if he needed to see the handbook for the correct pressures he said "no" and that he knew what they should be. A classic case of putting your ego first I think! Theres no shame in not memorising recommended tyre pressures for every car in the world right...?

A few months later I order 2 more tyres as the fronts now need doing. On some 4x4s you need to match brands front and rear so that the central viscous differential is balanced, particularly at high speeds. The tyres have since dissapeared from the grippy website! So I phone them up and enquire. Im told that the tyres are now available but they forgot to make them appear on the site!

Back I go to the site and now book 2 more tyres to match the ones previously fitted on the vehicle. Done! That is until i get a phone call saying that they cant now get hold of the tyres. So they do have the tyres, then they dont have the tyres, then they do have them again, then actually they dont have them!

So ive already booked and paid for these tyres which dont exist. Im offered an alternative and assured they will be a suitable match to the new tyres purchased previously. Only problem is they dont seem to know what it is they are giving me. "Its either one of these or one of those" im told - being two different rated tyres. As they dont know what they are giving me they at least have the decency to charge me only for the cheapest of the two alternatives.

On the day of fitting I arrange to leave work early to arrive home for the 5pm to 8pm fitting window.
At 6.30 im phoned and told the driver is over 4 hours away, driving from Dover (to Hampshire) and that actually they are going to cancel my fitting! OK I think, come around first thing in the morn and that will be fine, we cant help bad traffic can we...
Im then told my fitting cannot be done tomorrow and the next available slot is on Saturday, 3 days later!

This is just plainly poor customer focus in the business. If something goes wrong you sort it as soon as possible. You dont put customers back to the end of the queue because you failed to deliver first time around. I need these new tyres on now so I can put some motorway miles on the car without damaging the vcu (differential). Im told by grippy that there is "nothing that they can do" which is the most useless, bailout of a phrase. Of course there is something you CAN do, but you are chosing the option that is most simple for your business. If you are in the supermarket and the till breaks, once they fix it they dont send you to the back of the queue, you serve them as soon as possible.

I cancelled my order and requested a refund which apparently takes 3 days! I then thought about it and if the driver was 4 hours late, for a 3 hour journey, he must have left his last job halfway into my time slot. Traffic or not he was never going to get to me on time. Be warned it seems grippy are over inflating themselves and booking more slots than time in the day! Read the other reviews on this site and it seems Im not alone. Before you buy from grippy ask yourself the question "once ive bought these tyres and arranged time off work - will I mind when they dont turn up and offer me a slot 3 days later so I can do it all again?". Then go to your local tyre shop.

Im going to have to do what I should have all along, drive to a local tyre shop, pay a few quid more than grippy for the tyres that I want, fitted in front of my eyes, done!

Rude mechanics who dont know their stuff, A flaky supply chain where stock is checked AFTER an order has been placed and paid for, Staff and business policy that have a "Cant Do" attitude. Surprised? Well you get what you pay for dont you?

Fitter arrived as agreed and on time. Tyres where fitted in no time on my driveway!! Overall an absolute joy to deal with! Will definitely use again and have already recommended to my friends and family. Thanks again!!

I ordered a tyre online and paid, with appointment 2 days later - all set and very happy. spoken to manager and took half day off, just waiting for the driver come to fit my new tyre. On the day of appointment, got a call at 10am, been told the driver is in hospital?! so he can't make the appointment. I need the car for the weekend got lots of plans and stuff to do, but they said they can't arrange anything for me until sunday afternoon! then i said can you just deliver the type and i can find a local store to fit for me. Answer is no! I can't see they are even trying to make any effort to make their customer happy, they just don't care. got refunded. thanks for ruining my weekend, will never use again

things went wrong due to a stuck locking wheel nut that refused to come off despite the heroic efforts of Peter and his immaculate VW Betty which the Main Ford agent had to remove. Unfortuneately this meant a double journey Grippy.....no talk of extra cost to me, return organised within a day. Peter pre advised his arrival time and on both occasions arrived dead on time. Marque of a good company is how they deal with problems.....i have nothing but paise for Grippy !!

Jay (Fitter) and Maurice (Van) arrived on time, Jay was polite, helpful, knowledgeable and friendly.

Maurice is well equipped and spotlessly clean.

The level of customer service was outstanding.

It's a shame all companies aren't this good.

I will recommend Grippy to all my friends and family.

I had a very helpful member of staff. He was on time and clearly enjoyed his job.

Not only did he replace tyre quickly and well he also let me try nitrogen (I didnt book this) to see if there is any performance difference!

Excellent service, I had originally ordered the wrong tyre for my car - not a problem - after speaking to the lovely lady in Customer Services she arranged for delivery of the correct tyre.
Jason came to my house first and pumped my tyre so I can use it until the correct tyre could be fitted. Two days later Karl came and fitted the correct tyre. These guys were so courteous and friendly.
From the price, fitting and service you can not fault this company.

This was a brilliant experience. Got a phone call as stated in the blurb, saying when arriving which was great. Really, quick worker and friendly too. I love the fact that the work is done at home rather than having to get to a garage. Will use again for sure. Very, very pleased :-)

I purchased 4 tyres to be fitted at home this afternoon. The fitter called me first thing this morning to advise what time he would be here. I was not able to be at home when he arrived, but this was not a problem - the job was done and the fitter called me to advise that he had finished. Excellent service from start to finish - my telephone query prior to ordering was answered courteously, the website is user friendly, ordering is straightforward and communication is excellent. I will definitely use this service again.

I needed a new tyre quick as mine had worn out beyond repair. They were able toa ttend 2 days faster than any other similar service, communication was prompt, and the chap who actually came to fit the tyre was lovely. Very polite and quick. Would completely recommend them to anyone. Oh, and to top it off? They were a good £20 cheaper including fitting, than anybody else excluding others' fitting charge! Bonus!

Would Recommend. Had a new tyre fitted at my home, Easier than waiting around at local garage. I booked Grippy again to fit 2 new tyres on my husbands van and one on soft top car. Grippy rang to say that the tyres for the van wasn't in stock but we could have the next ones up for same cost, so even better for us, they also ring you on the day of fitting to give you a more precise time. So yes would definitely recommend.

The fitter rang and told me he was going to be a bit late but kept me informed and up to date which was good. When he arrived he was well manners and great to talk to, we talked while he carried out the tyre fitting and he even saved me £30 by showing me that my tracking didn't need doing.

Overall a very pleasant experience from Grippy and I will be using them and recommending to friend in the future.

From start to finish the experience was easy. I booked online and two days later I had my new tyres on my car. Overall, really happy with the service and I will be using Grippy again.

The price for the service was not only competitive but half the price of my main dealer, plus no need to book it in for the work to be done and wait for it to be completed. The technician changed the tyres at home in quick time, leaving my wife to get on with her day without any disruptions, what a perfect serive!
