Tenant issues during Power of Sale

These guys represent the mortgage holding company that got stuck with my house after the landlords defaulted. the house went to POS, and eventually sold. They tried to serve me with an N12 but they snuck in the N9 to try and get us to sign away our N12 rights. Now they are taking their time in reimbursing us for the money we are owed. beware, in my opinion they are unethical.

We(me as a buyer and lender)

We(me as a buyer and lender) are waiting for the past 8 weeks to get the DOV(deed of variation) ready,we are getting to 9th week now still nothing, they supposed to do that in 4 to 6 weeks,is a lack of professionalism and actually is a breache of law..
We are struggling, the lender is paying for 2 mortgages,my wife is spending 6 hours a day to get our daughter to the school and back..no one cares..
Very disappointed
Just to mention the region, is in South Ockendon.
They should get a good manager to change all the processes,so they can provide a good service.
To be honest the 2 stars are saying a lot about them.

Gowlings represent the community…

Gowlings represent the community interest company for my estate. Enquiries were sent to them over five weeks ago, and despite ongoing follow-ups from both myself and my solicitor, their only response has been that they are currently too busy to reply. Unfortunately, this delay is now putting my sale at risk.

I have been waiting almost 10 months…

I have been waiting almost 10 months now for a Deed of Variation to be passed to my solicitor, only thing holding up the sale of my property.

During this time, each of the following "events" have happened months apart with constant chasing by my solicitor.

1. They produced the wrong wording in a standard ground rent clause variation

2. They then asked my solicitor to produce the wording for the deed of variation instead of them doing what they are charging the fee for. (my solicitor provided the correct wording the next day)

3.After another 3 months of waiting they informed my solicitor they had "approved" the document. However did not provide the required signed and witnessed copy.

4. Provided a signed copy, but had not been correctly witnessed. Therefore invalid. Immediately, a signed and witnessed copy was requested again by my solicitor.

5. To the day of this review, the signed and witnessed copy has not been produced.

Despite starting the process to sell this property a year ago. Which I assumed would be plenty of time to sell it before April 2025, at which point I will no longer be able to claim back excess stamp duty I paid on the home I moved to.

Gowlings have cost me in the region of £5000 because of this unless by some miracle they finally give my solicitor the correct document today.

If you're reading this after the 1st of April then assume they didn't.
Thanks for the April fool joke Gowling, you got me good... disgraceful firm.
THANK YOU ABBI PETERS @ GOWLING WLG

My solicitor has been dealing with Abbi…

My solicitor has been dealing with Abbi Peters trying to get a Deed of Variation signed. We’re in week six and the whole chain may fall apart if we don’t get it through soon. No one replies. No number to call. It’s a disgrace. These are peoples lives they’re ignoring.

Happy to take this review down if a final DOV is finally sent through.

Achieved a Tribunal Settlement in Record Time!

Gowling WLG assisted us with a Tribunal matter that became complicated due to 5.5 years of delays. Discouraged we decided to start over with a new lawyer. Gowling's Rosa Lupo was recommended, who in turn recommended David Sunday because of his Tribunal experience. I was nervous because there was so much history. How would someone pick up all the relevant data after so many years in? David got all the data organized and coded, digested it, took the bull by the horns holding third party meetings to get materials organized, to get technical expertise and feedback, and then aggressively pursued a settlement with all parties. He's extremely calm, intuitive, and determined to find the right solutions. A little over a year later, our matter which had previously seemed insurmountable, was fully resolved! He'd found a way through everyone's concerns to a successful resolution! David's response times were exceptional. He was detailed, diligent, focused, communicative, and so thorough with his paperwork (witness statement etc) such that we didn't even need a hearing at the end. The Tribunal accepted our settlement. While this law firm was more costly than our original lawyer, I only wish I'd know about them from the beginning so we could have saved years of grief. Gowling utilized other support staff to help keep our hourly rate budget as manageable as possible, but without dropping the ball on the key communications from David. I cannot say enough good things about this firm, and about David Sunday specifically. Would highly recommend. Well worth the spend!

SERVICE NOT ACCEPTABLE

SERVICE NOT ACCEPTABLE

They are more than happy to take your call at the start and advise they are they best and they give best customer service but as soon as you transfer the money for their fees, they wont talk to you over the phone or provide customer service as they promised at the beginning.

they will get the frontline staff to return your call after a day or two or least a email. sometimes if you lucky you will get a call or email from the person who is dealing with your case.

Extremely slow and incompetent frontline staff. They have high charge rate for the services they provide but with a terrible customer service.

Requests Ignored.

I am in the process of selling my house. The buyer and I have been waiting for over two months to exchange contracts because the staff here at GowlingsWLG, who act for the developer, Bloor Homes, failed to register a Deed and then couldn’t find the document for weeks. Having now found it, they fail to respond to correspondence from our solicitor thus leaving us and the buyer just waiting. All parties are desperate to complete this sale but are unable to without their input.

Please choose your conveyancing solicitors carefully. I would never have anything to do with this company. They fail to respond to repeated written requests, Abbi Peters, our solicitor is waiting on a response from you, they have no care in what they do and appear totally incompetent. If I could give no stars I would.

I will now be invoking a complaint with the SRA.

Happy to remove this post should they ever do their job and provide what they need to to our solicitors.

Extremely slow and unresponsive…

Extremely slow and unresponsive service. Will not speak to clients directly as they’re a ‘corporate law firm’. I have been awaiting a deed of variation from the notices team for some time and the delay is soon to make my house sale fall through. I would urge Rebecca Bailey and her team to look into the issue promptly

Update- Response received from Saiema and the deed of variation will be produced. The question is when?
If this is sorted immediately I will remove my reviews.

Useless, do not use!

Instructed my conveyancing solicitor to get an amendment on the registry as required before selling.
Over 3 months now and this hasn't been sorted.
This is FirstPort solicitors, and I would give less than 1 star if I could.
