I visited store 862-Short Pump

I visited store 862-Short Pump, and was greeted by a young man, and started with signing in, then onto my evaluation.
You stand on an electronic floor device that measures total encompassed foot pressure. Their device wouldn’t connect to the internet/store network etc. Did this twice. No luck. I joked I must have bad luck. The representative said yeah, you must have bad luck. Then on to a manual foot pressure testing pad. Makes a carbon image of your foot pressure.
I asked if they work with insurance companies-he said HSA’s only-no other. I said I need an official quote electronically or on paper, to discuss either my doctor and my insurance company, to see if I might be reimbursed for the expense of a “starter program” costing $1700.00. Are you kidding me?
They said they can’t offer a quote and their products could be looked up on line. I asked to see a manager. As I have specific needs for my feet, not generic views and pricing. After a minute, the manager comes out from behind, head down, unpleasant blank look, and she asked how she could help. The representative explained to her in the back of store, what I wanted. I repeated that I would like an official quote to present to my insurance company and to review with my medical team. She said we don’t do that. I told her It was unbelievable. We got no where with this-I stayed professional and courteous, and she became combative that I would suggest that their practice was odd at best. She began a street head rock motion, and said she could not help me, and suggested I take my business elsewhere. I’m a manager, and found this highly unprofessional and discourteous. I said I will gladly leave, but could I get a business card from her and she said unfortunately I’m out of them. So I got the store sales rep card of Jacob Johnston.
I’ve rarely had a bad experience with a retailer or business, but this ranks as number “ONE” as worst ever. My recommendation is to see your doctor and buy orthotic insoles on line ranging from $60 to $250, NOT $1700. A lot of people-after research, indicate that this was a bad experience and foot pain, in many cases, came back worse than before. Steer clear. This is a “gimmicky falsehood” that should be approached with caution.

We'd like to look into this further, including the conversation with the manager. Please email our Care Team at CustomerCare@thegoodfeetgroup.com if there are any further details you'd like to share.
