I had difficulties to install the e-sim…
I had difficulties to install the e-sim ( several retry before it finally succeeded the next day). But once it japan it worked fine uppon landing at the airport.

The esim requires an app (that tracks you)
The esim requires an app, which is not the usual case for esim. Usually, you sign up and get a barcode which you can use on other phones. When trying to set up esims for family, requiring everyone to install an app which spies on you is a real turn off.

Using this in Guatemala was easy and worked great. I had never used an eSIM before so was apprehensive on if it would work and if setting it up would be hard too the whole process was easy and it worked great. I have an iPhone and so the only slight issue I had was that sending texts to the few people I know who don’t have iPhone didn’t work, so we had to communicate through WhatsApp instead.
