A monthly subscription I know nothing about

Just spotted this transaction as a subscription coming out monthly. No recollection of signing up for it or how long I’ve been paying for this. I have never heard of them. I am retired and money is scarce. Will try calling to see if I can get a refund but not confident.

This is a service is a scam!

This is a service is a scam!
They do not clearly mark it as a separate service with its own fees associated, most that have signed up for this service have done so unaware they were doing so! Be careful of this service!!

We didn't realise we had subscribed

We didn't realise we had subscribed

A charge of £15 appeared on my banking app with the reference "GO2.COMPLTESAVE.C" which was a complete mystery. A bit of digging and I found another 5 similar transactions tagged "GO2.COMPLET".

I phoned my bank and they explained how to handle this as a scam. They said they had seen it before.

It's a joint account, it turned out my other half had clicked on "save £20.80 on your next trainline purchase", and not realised he was signing up to a subscription service, 6 months ago. He didn't "claim" the £20.80 as he assumed it was automatic. He ignored the monthly email because he assumed it was an advert.

The web address given on some emails he had received, as completesavings. we used that address and tried to log into his account (which he had never done before, so didn't have a password). We requested a change password link twice and nothing happened.

When we tried to cancel via chatbot, it assured us he had cancelled and an email sent but again... no email arrived.

I rang the helpline and (after the signal repeatedly breaking up over 5 minutes), managed to have a sensible and helpful chat with an agent.

He confirmed that the membership has been cancelled, the email would confirm "within 3-5 days", and when I asked for a full refund he authorised a £45 refund and said we would get an email (in 3-5 working days) explaining how to claim the other £45.

Looks good, maybe we will get all the money back? What a hassle...

#### update we received a full refund in 2 working days.

Presumably a scam.

Presumably a scam. I checked my banking app today and I have been debited £18. I have absolutely no recollection of signing up for this and know that I wouldn't ever do so. I will be chasing this up with my bank and the company in question asap. Very unhappy.
Update; have just chased up via my bank's fraud team and from what I can make out this transaction is linked to Trainline, possibly due to signing up inadvertently to some sort of discount offer. Just shows how careful we need to be. Good job that I check my balance regularly or this could have gone on for months.
Further update, I managed to connect this company via phone and they refunded money within a couple of days.

MY PARTNER GOT SCAMMED BY GO2 COMPLETESAVE SCAM…

MY PARTNER GOT SCAMMED BY THIS SCAM COMPANY. THE BANK SAID THEY GET THIS ALL THE TIME FROM THESE SCAMMERS. WATCH OUT FOR MOONPIG AND ARGOS. THE BANK SAID THEY HAVE A TICK BOX AND IF YOU TICK IT WITHOUT THINKING YOU'VE SIGNED UP TO THEIR SCAM. DON'T BUY FROM MOONPIG BECAUSE THAT'S WHERE IT STARTED. YOU'RE WARNED.

Christina

I have just cancelled . it was not easy. I worked out that if didn't cancel they would be taking £240 a year. That is a lot of money for a pensioner or any one.

Basically a scam with rubbish discounts

Beware. Just noticed a secondly monthly payment of £15 to GO.completesave.co.uk

I cancelled it, I’ll right off the £30. I have no recollection of subscribing to this, nor would I have done if it’d been a conscious decision.

They have to explain on their blog why they are not a scam. Says all you need to know.

Should be illegal if it isn’t already.

Took money out of my account without permission. Eventually got it back but lots of hassle and time to sort out. They say I signed up when I made a Trainline booking which is definitely untrue. Could have easily slipped under the radar in my bank account. A definite scam!

Beware classic scam!

Unaware until now they have been taking money from my account unauthorised! These payments can easily slip under the radar, time consuming to get money returned and cancelled! Seems like a scam to me! Would prefer to give zero stars but not possible!
