My partner and I used Glover Priest to buy a property, it was our first time doing most of this process. The staff were absolutely lovely throughout our whole process, when I felt like I was asking silly questions or asking them to repeat, she always answered in a kind and calm manner. They never made me feel as if I couldn't ring or email her about anything. I have and will continue to tell the praises of this company, I have already referred 2 other people to use this company.

A self styled property lawyer called Kellie has been acting for the buyers of our property. She was originally instructed in January and soon after that she was told that the developer of our new build property required exchange of contracts by 7 April. She has shown no sense of urgency at any stage and has made no effort to meet the 7 April deadline. As the date for exchange passed she was asking stupid questions about building regulations approval for 20 year old loft insulation installed by our predecessor’ predecessors, which unbeknown to Kellie did not require building regulations approval). She has also spent the last 10 days dithering over bifolding doors that were installed 13 years ago when our house was extended by our predecessors. Kellie has been uncommunicative throughout and has taken long periods of time to carry out very simple tasks. A new date for exchange of contracts has been set for 17 April but Kellie is making no effort to achieve that and has more or less told our conveyancer that she has no intention of doing so. If our purchase falls through we will be left out of pocket to the tune of several thousand pounds, her own clients will be left several hundred pounds out of pocket for their property survey (and will lose a very nice house) and our estate agents will not get paid. Kellie is, by a long way, the worst conveyancer I have ever come across. If our transaction falls through I shall report Glover Priest to the Solicitors’ Regulation Authority and if necessary take legal proceedings to recover our losses. If I could give her no stars I would.

Sophie handled our conveyancing excellently, helping us navigate the conveyancing for our latest buy to let.
The transaction was a little more complicated as Sophie needed to look deeper into the management agreement from the housing association to guide me on the suitability of the deal. My property purchase went through last month and we have already received our first payment.. great work!

Started off really well, then I found out through my estate agent that my solicitor quit her job. Not once did the solicitors call me to explain the situation. Then later when everything was almost done, they told my estate agents (not me) that they sent the contract through the post. Not sure who they sent it with as to this day (almost 4 months later) I still haven’t received the important documents.

After I drove all the way to their office to sign the documents that they “sent through the post” they had the audacity to say that the post office must of lost it. It’s nice to know that such important documents were not treated as such. I got the keys to my property on the 8th of Jan, and yet still to this day 28/03/26 the important document are still yet to be delivered.

So it’s easy to come to the assumption that the solicitors lied to me about them sending the documents in the first place…

The communication of this solicitors is borderline non existent. Then when it came to moving day, the sellers didn’t leave the property until 7.45 hours past they were meant to. And the solicitors couldn't care less.

Avoid them at all costs, as soon as the fee is paid they could not care less.

Attentive, friendly, professional all through the process, backed up with sound advice and great communication. A delight to work with and highly recommended. I was always told theres no such thing as a good solicitor but Ellie and Sally were fantastic from start to finish. I was always kept informed with quick replies and they handled everything as soon as they received it.

Couldn't be bothered to keep in contact with me, constantly blamed the searches for not being complete, only to find out they were completed 2 months before. Wanting more money for extended searches even though previous questions hadn't been answered. As a 1st time buyer I was hoping for a guiding hand to make the process easier. Instead I lost out on buying my dream home. Just to be kept updated instead of blaming others would have really helped but nothing.
