Force u to write a 5 star review
Force u to write a 5 star review to get cashback? Isn't that illegal?
ACCC says:
Section 29 – False or misleading representations
This prohibits businesses from making false or misleading representations in trade or commerce.
--> The survey didn't tell me until after I had completed it that I had to leave a 5 star review to get cashback.
"Incentives offered to customers to provide reviews must be:
applied regardless of whether the reviewer leaves a positive or negative review
clearly disclosed so consumers know the review was incentivised."
-->despite the fact that trustpilot deems this review unprompted, I actually came to trustpilot directly from the survey link, where I was instructed to leave a 5 star review for cashback. Of course, I left a 1 star review to combat this manipulation, but I was prompted by the promise of 25 dollars after a survey (which I never got thanks to my 1 star review). This incentive for only positive feedback violates the guidlines stipulated by ACCC.
Hey Glov Beauty, hey Jessica, you can keep your $25, but you can't silence the consumer!
