My Personal Experience – May 9, 2022
I paid Global Immigration Consultants Limited (GIC) for Canada immigration processing at their Dhaka office (Gulshan-1). When I requested a refund after deciding to discontinue, they refused despite providing NO services.
How They Scam:
• Money transferred = money theirs, regardless of services delivered
• Force you to sign non-refundable agreements on 300tk stamp papers
• They blast continuous spam texts and calls pressuring you to visit before payment
• Once you pay, communication stops and refunds are impossible
Intimidation Tactics:
• Officials personally call to pressure removal of negative reviews
• Facebook reviews are DISABLED to silence victims
• They post FAKE positive reviews on Google while suppressing truth
• Their lawyer threatened a "Manhani Mamla" (defamation case) when I complained to Vokta Odhikar
• Case was never resolved; I never recovered my money
Critical Red Flags:
1. Not Registered with Any Authority:
• NOT registered with CICC (Canada)
• NOT registered with MARA (Australia)
• NOT registered with OISC (UK)
• Operate as unlicensed brokers, not certified professionals
2. Multiple Shell Company Names:
Same operation runs under: Global Immigration Consultants Ltd, GIC Education Limited, GIC Global Ltd, and GIC Chittagong
3. Fake Reviews:
• 1,207+ Google reviews (3.8 rating) – many fake
• Facebook reviews DISABLED to hide complaints
• Similar companies worldwide show 1.4/5 Trustpilot ratings with fraud complaints
4. Website Red Flags (gicbd.com, gicglobalbd.com, gicbdedu.com):
• Unverifiable claims ("leading firm," "highest success rate")
• No lawyer credentials provided
• Generic testimonials with stock photos
• No transparent refund policy
5. UK Company Shell Issues:
• Company #10562975 filed dormant accounts
• Virtual London address
• Bangladeshi directors running actual operations

✓ Australia: MARA-registered only (mara.gov.au)
✓ UK: OISC-registered only (immigrationadviceauthority.gov.uk)
✓ Get written contracts with clear refund policies
✓ Verify credentials independently
