This company left me very disappointed…
This company left me very disappointed with its dubious outcomes. Subsequent tests at different facilities showed my blood levels were normal, whereas Get Tested had reported some results as elevated, suggesting supplements to boost those levels unnecessarily. Rather than offering a refund, they justified their actions with excuses. Steer clear of this service!

I bought a kit as a gift to my husband
I bought a kit as a gift to my husband, the product packaging looks old, worn, and completely unpresentable. For a medical test costing £99, I would expect packaging that looks professional, hygienic, and trustworthy. This item was intended as a gift, and in its current condition I am honestly ashamed to give it to anyone. This is not acceptable for a product of this price and nature. I have not received any infomration form customer service.

Unreliable Service and Poor Transparency
I purchased two tests, and both were significantly delayed beyond the advertised turnaround time (7–14 / 10–15 business days). One test was marked as received on Jan 23, yet no results were provided by Feb 14. Only after I contacted the company did the results suddenly appear within a few hours.
The current test was marked as received on Nov 6 — 24 days before December. When I asked about the results on Nov 23, I was told there were December-related delays. It is now three additional weeks later, and there are still no results.
Separate charges for testing and return delivery add confusion, and repeated failure to meet stated timelines shows poor reliability and transparency. Unacceptable service.
Update after GT response:
The February test was marked as received on January 23. The stated turnaround time is 10–15 business days. Results were released on February 14, which exceeded the maximum stated timeframe — this was not a one-day delay.
A second test received on November 6 (well before December) remains significantly delayed.
When returning the first sample, I was instructed at the post office that return postage needed to be paid, which I paid in good faith. I have since been told this should not have been required, indicating inconsistent or unclear return instructions.
Due to repeated delays and loss of trust in the process, I have already emailed the company requesting a refund for the outstanding test, as I no longer require or trust the result.
This reflects repeated process and communication issues rather than an isolated incident.

I don’t recognize your specific case, but I do want to address the points you raised and want to solve this with you. Regarding the results dated February 14: I’m very sorry that these were delayed by one day beyond the stated turnaround time. If results are not delivered within the promised timeframe, compensation can be offered. If this hasn’t already been handled, please email us and we’ll be happy to look into it.
That said, it’s important to clarify that the results were released on February 14, which you state is the same day you contacted us. Results cannot be sent before the analysis is completed, so the timing was not because you contacted us, but because the analysis had just been finalized. Still, I’m ofvourse very sorry it took an extra day.
Concerning the test marked as received on November 6: if you received a message about December-related delays, this may have been an automated response, this info is also visible on your results page. If your sample was sent in early November, it should of course not be affected by December delays, and it absolutely should not take three additional weeks beyond the stated timeframe. That does sound very unusual.
Please email us with your test ID, or update your review with your order number, test ID, or the email address used for the order, so we can check the status and contact you directly.
About the comment regarding separate charges for testing and return delivery: this sounds very strange. You should not be charged anything beyond what you paid when purchasing the test. The return envelope is pre-paid and pre-addressed, and you should never have to pay for return shipping.
If you have been charged extra, or if someone has asked you for payment claiming to represent us, please email us with a receipt or more details so we can investigate. We never ask for customers to pay for shipping when returning a sample.
I completely understand why you’re upset when things take longer than promised. We really want to look into this, and make sure you receive your results. Please send us your test ID so we can investigate properly.

I'm not aware of your specific case, but sometimes lines can show up due to discoloration if you read the results after when it should be read (results are usually only valid about 10-15 minutes after doing the test). If a line shows up after this, it is not considered positive.
If a very faint line showed up at the time when results should be read, this could also mean that it's a borderline result (results could not be read) and that the test needs to be retaken.

Some of our tests can take a bit longer depending on parameters, and things like certain analyses require culturing or more complex processing to ensure accuracy.
Hospital laboratories work with similar timeframes, and our ISO-certified partner labs follow the same high standards used in clinical settings. This means the results may take a little longer, but the quality and reliability stay very high. 😊

Have not received the 2 tests and impossible to get resolved without speaking to a person and contact forms only. Would not recommend. If I get any update from the company, I’m happy to update this review.

Not happy with the test kit. The website states that test is able to detect antibodies from historical infections. I've ordered 2 tests and both came negative despite the previous positive laboratory test.

I’m really sorry to hear that. If you used a rapid test and it showed a negative result for previous infections, there are a few things that can influence the outcome.
For example, too little sample material, antibody levels that are simply too low to be detectable, eating/drinking before a saliva test or drinking a lot of water before a urine test. We would be happy to double-check this with you to see if anything could have affected the result.

I ordered an expensive test that subsequently after a GP's diagnosis I didn't need to take. As I hadn't used it yet and had only ordered it the week before, I contacted GetTested to explain and asked for a refund - they provided it without issue, so for me, their customer support has been excellent and I will certainly use them again in future should I need a test for anything else.

SCAM- ENTIRELY inaccurate - get them for free at your GP
I have a long history of dust allergy and in recent years, felt that my allergy has got worse so decided to splash out on an allergy test from GetTested to finally satisfy myself to what it was- particularly as I thought I had a pet allergy.
My results (after a long wait) came back and to my surprise said I didn't have a dog or cat allergy. Even more to my surprise, this test said I was not allergic to dust mites. Which I know I am.
So just out of curiosity, I asked the GP of it was possible for them to do private bloods- not only could they check if I was allergic to dust, dogs and cats, but they did it for free.
Now when this test came back my GP asked me to book in for a telephone consultation to discuss the results which I thought odd. Turns out that it was because not only am I allergic to dust (which Get Tested said I was NOT) but I am am TWENTY-FIVE TIMES (yes, 25) over the normal threshold for dust allergy. So much so that I should apparently be wearing a mask while in dusty environments or risk a compromised airway. Yes, you read correctly.
Do not UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES buy your allergy test from this ridiculous company, you will not receive accurate results. If it couldn't detect 25x over the normal limit, it's not going to accurately detect anything.
Still waiting on a refund, can't imagine I'll get anything so considering a report to trading standards instead.

Allergy results can vary between providers if different analytical methods are used, and the tests may also target different categories of dust-related allergens. Dust mites (Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus) are a specific, well-defined allergen, while house dust is a mixture of skin flakes, textile fibres, pollen residues, mould spores and bacteria. Because of this, some analyses measure specific IgE against dust mites, while others assess broader environmental dust. These are distinct allergens, which can result in differing outcomes between tests.
I also want to clarify that the statement about us being a scam is not correct. We use accredited, ISO-certified laboratories that follow the same high standards as hospital labs, calling our service a scam is an untrue and serious claim.
Eitherway, we would very much like to look over this with you to make sure that everything is correct. If you’re not already in contact with us by email, please feel free to update your review with your order number or test ID so that we can reach out and look into this properly for you.

Absolutely awful company with very questionable results, after repeating tests elsewhere my blood results were normal. Get tested reported certain ones as high then recommended supplements to increase those levels even further. Instead of issuing me a refund they defended their actions and made excuses. Avoid at all costs!

For example, results from serum vs whole blood are not directly comparable because the concentration ranges and reference intervals differ. The same applies when comparing saliva tests with blood tests, or tests taken in different units or measurement scales. This can sometimes explain why results seem different when tested elsewhere.

Dried blood spot testing
I purchased the test and I didn’t realise it’s done from dried blood spot. I’m not sure those tests are reliable for allergy and none of the official medical authorities recommends them.
When purchasing, I didn’t see it being mentioned anywhere so I think I was tricked into buying something that doesn’t work.
I have to admit I didn’t know what to expect especially from self taken sample, but I didn’t expect unreliable methods of testing.

Pasting what it says in the website, nothing suggests it’s DBS testing. I received my test results. All items I’m allergic to and I know it from previous skin patch test are not showing. I was exposed to them in last few weeks with severe reaction.
How is the Allergy test Small carried out?
Our Allergy Test Small is a home test kit. After ordering, we will send you a kit with everything you need to collect a small blood sample. Then, simply return your sample to us in the pre-paid envelope
Avoid those tests! They’re not reliable and it doesn’t matter they use a certified lab. Dried blood spot tests are not reliable for most testing scenarios.

To reassure you: dried blood spot (DBS) testing is a well-established and safe method, processed in ISO-certified laboratories. It is widely used in healthcare and research because the samples remain stable during transport and are suitable for antibody testing, including IgG and IgE.
Regarding the product page, it’s unusual that the sampling method wasn’t visible. The test method should be shown clearly on each product page, and we also provide video instructions showing how the sample is taken. If something didn’t display correctly for you, we would really appreciate a screenshot so we can check for any technical issue.

I’ve checked the product page you referred to. While the FAQ section at the bottom does not explicitly spell out “dried blood spot”, the sampling method is shown clearly in both the product images and the video where we demonstrate how the test is taken at the very top of the page, and the product image that shows everything included in the kit also displays the DBS card with “dried blood spot” clearly written on it.
Again, dried blood spot sampling is a well-established and reliable method, widely used in healthcare and accredited laboratories for antibody testing, including IgE and IgG, which this test is.
With that being said, we have now added DBS to the FAQ you mentioned to make it even clearer in the text as well, thank you for letting us know where you wanted it written. 😊
It also sounds like you’re unhappy with the results themselves. Since you’ve already received your report, you must have used and seen that the test was done on a DBS card, as that is the testing method. I’m a bit unsure how this was missed during the sampling.

Fantastic to be able to treat causes…
Fantastic to be able to treat causes instead of going to the GP who treats symptoms. Big thanks to gettested.co.uk for empowering people to get true answers. They also saved me lots of faff & time getting an appointment at the GP when I can do my own smears at home...with no nurse poking at me. Also cured myself of a number of ailments that GPs were utterly useless at even diagnosing, nevermind treating.
