This company charged for a trial sub, there was no obvious signs that this trial would then carry over to being signed up for a monthly starter service at a greater cost.
It's a sneaky method. If it was a charged trial it should only be charged just to that, a trial period. That's what you would assume. However there is obviously fine print somewhere that wasn't clear at the time i signed up. Now a month later i was surprised to see a random $80 Aud charge on my account, only with a website address which is now defunct. After searching for what it could be i discovered it was speechflow where i signed up for a trial.
Other companies have similar, but with free trials that lead into a sub fee where its more clear. On some of those experiences i have forgotten to cancel the sub before getting charged. However, those companies are actually decent enough to refund and close my account in good faith.
This company how ever doesn't care. Their response is cold and dismissive. They have charged me for a month they know i wont even use. Tells me that no one find their program useful so need all the money they can get out of people unlucky enough to come across them. Definitely avoid.
Bad experience with Speech Flow AI.
I signed up for a 3-month trial of a new software, but it felt unfinished—text-to-speech functionality produced raw errors instead of proper output. When I tried to cancel, the account settings only displayed paid plan options, with no apparent way to cancel the trial.
Despite not updating my payment method (after receiving repeated emails about "billing issues") and an email that clearly stated:
>“Until we are able to resolve this issue, your subscription to SpeechFlow Trial - $1/month for 3 months** has expired. Please update your billing information to resume your subscription.”
—the company charged me $50 (the full subscription price) after the trial ended.
I’ve sent seven emails requesting a refund, but they dismissed all of them, citing their "no refund" policy.
Given the broken features, unclear cancellation process, and explicit email confirmation that my subscription had expired, I expected their support team to assist me. Instead, they continued to dismiss my concerns.
I strongly advise avoiding this software/company.
