My main question was “Do I need a…

My main question was “Do I need a static IP address to run your system?” The answer was NO. So ordered an EC1016 and a 2TB hard drive. The bottom line I find now that YES you do need a static IP address and I spent over $800 for something that doesn’t work now. Tell honestly, how would you feel. Please have a blessed New Year.

A dynamic IP address works fine, so a static IP is not necessary.

An addressable IP address is needed, however. In your case, you have a cellular internet connection that doesn't have a true, addressable ip address - dynamic or static. Cellular connections use shared addresses across multiple customers, rather than one address - dynamic or static - for each customer. With a landline internet connection the addressable IP address is your device, with a cellular connection, the addressable ip address is the tower.

In order to do remote viewing, you will need an addressable ip address - it can be static or dynamic, but it has to be unique to your devices. We apologize that this is the case. So, the issue isn't caused by not having a static address, but rather by not having a unique address, at all.

I know that's frustrating to hear. If you would like to do a return we'd be happy to do that for you since you are not getting the remote viewing you wanted. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to help.

The Team at SCW is the best

The Team at SCW is the best. They have great equipment, knowledgeable support, and locally the install team aims (pun intended) to please. My install was done in a quick, neat and clean fashion by courteous quality installers. Rarely does a camera or two need to be moved after placement but after actually experiencing night performance I needed just that and without a hesitation they came back and made the relocations. Both the original install and return appointments fell on days of real wet rainy weather but they showed up as scheduled without a complaint. Could not be happier! Thankful to have taken AM-570 Radio Host and friend Pete Kaliner's advice to give SCW a call.

Great company.

Their website had the temperature ranges of cameras which was important to me as it can hit -30. Other companies couldn't tell me, even when I called them. Needed help and sent plans to Bonnie, who created a best buy package of equipment to fit my needs. She also honored a Black Friday price two weeks after it expired. It took me the extra time for my isp to confirm they could get me the upgrade I needed for 16 cameras. If you need cameras, get them from SCW.

I was very happy with my SCW experience

I was very happy with my this, my first purchase from SCW. I called with some questions I had about the 8 channel DVR to replace an existing installation I had. The support person answered all my questions over the phone in just a few minutes. I ordered the DVR a few minutes later online. The online order system was clear and easy to use. I later received a conformation and the shipping information. A couple of days later i received a heavy duty cardboard double boxed DVR. Good shipping material. 20 minutes after opening box I had a up and running DVR system with cameras hooked up and recording. Next business day on the following Monday, I called support and with in about 25 minutes they had logged into my computer at home and set the port forwarding up in my router for my iPhone to set up the remote viewing for the cameras. Over all I do feel rating SCW as excellent is correct. All contacts with SCW was professional, helpful and friendly. I was so well satisfied that I am already looking at the Admiral NVR to add to my location.

SCW Keeps Getting Better

This is my fourth purchase from SCW. The order was processed expediently and arrived one day early. Each time I make a purchase from SCW I'm increasingly more satisfied with the features and video quality. SCW's product line is continually improving. I chose a camera from the Admiral line, and paired it with an existing Vanguard NVR. SCW clearly caution against mixing lines due to the inability to plug-and-play, but the manual configuration was still simple. The video quality and features of the new Admiral line are excellent.

1080P Admiral Series

We purchased the 1080P Admiral Series with 6 HD cameras in late October to replace our 20-year old analog system. Bonnie was of great help with answering questions and the quotation process prior to purchase. During the course of installation, we contacted SCW support team a few times for help with software and network installation. We received great support. We are completely satisfied with the performance of the system and service from the SCW team.

Cameras have condesation in them after 1 hour but after support and a stint of warm weather have finally cleared

(Update condensation has finally cleared)

I got the cameras. Installed them and then within an hour they got condensation on all 4 of then INSIDE the lens cover glass. I contacted the company and was told to remove the cameras, bring them inside for several hours, put them outside turned off for several hours then reinstall. I was also told that they have a silica desiccant inside of the cameras. My big problem is that they will not say where the moisture came from. If they are truly IP67 (water tight) cameras with desiccant inside how could there be any moisture in the camera? I also live in NJ where in spring and fall the temp can from 60 to 20 degrees F overnight so how is this not going to keep happening.

Got good response from customer support but will still need to remove at least one camera to try to "acclimate) the camera. They at least called me to discuss options.

I have completed the acclimation process as suggested by SCW. Kept the camera inside overnight and the condesation evaporated. Put the camera in the non heated garage for 8 hours. Installed the camera on the exterior of my home for 3 hours with the camera not powered on. Powered on the camera and the condensation returned by the following morning. At this point 4 out of 4 cameras have condensation and the acclimated camera did not resolve the issue. I do not trust that replacement cameras will not have condensation.

I can say that customer support have been very nice and very responsive but I do not feel the warrior 8.0 camera will work for me or anyone in a region with cold climates.

SCW has sent me out new cameras. I will test one to see if condensation occurs. If the first camera works I will swap out each one at a time. I’m skeptical that they won’t fog up but am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. The any of the cameras show condensation I will persue a refund.

Latest update:

Well after a stint of warm weather (above 50 degrees f) all my cameras have finally cleared of condensation. Once this happened the condensation did not come back even after it dropped below freezing. I will keep monitoring but I hope they stay this way. The customer support has been unbelievable and I don’t think you would get this kind of support anywhere else! I will keep monitoring.
