Ancient Grains, 'gum gut'.

I was sent the Genius Ancient Grains and Seeds bloomer as a substitution on Ocado. I have a sensitivity to gums in food (Xanthan and Guar) that has landed me in A&E before. I had a reaction to this bread. I had bloating, breathlessness and itching shortly after eating it. I want to make other 'gum gut' sufferers aware of this. I couldn't review it on Ocado because I hadn't actually ordered it (they had substituted it for the Genius 5 seeded loaf, which didn't cause me problems).

According to AI Xanthan gum can be made from either wheat, soy or corn. Unfortunately the labels on foods don't specify which one of these has been used in the manufacturing of the gum.

Waste for monet

Bought tiger bloomer with best before 1 week ahead. Waste of money. Crust falls away when bread is sliced leaving a crumbling core loaf. Will not buy again. Promise and even Warburtons are streets ahead.

I recently tried the Genius 'Rocky…

I recently tried the Genius 'Rocky Road' as an alternative to my usual gluten free sweet treat. They are delicious and nicely portioned, making it to easy for me to dive in for another. I'm on my second box now and will definitely be buying more...

Having been Coeliac for over 10 years

Having been Coeliac for over 10 years, I am so pleased that brands like Genius exist. You make so much easier, I couldn't go a week without your crumpets or lately the tiger bread.

I brought a multi seeded bloomer

I brought a multi seeded bloomer, I was not impressed the fact it all fell apart and had inside missing. I actually couldn’t make a sandwich out of it, instead I had my sandwich filling on a plate and cut small bits of the bread to eat with a knife and fork. Perhaps supply sliced bloomer bread so at least you can see what’s going into the bags. It’s not cheap to buy so expect much better. 2 stars for the taste as I did enjoy, just don’t want to eat a sandwich with a knife and fork.

Shocking Quality – Photos Hidden by Company

Every time I open this bread, the slices are broken, full of holes, or completely unusable. Half the loaf goes straight in the bin.
The packaging is poor the best before date is stamped on the bag, but the front is never properly sealed, which makes me question how fresh or safe it really is.

I get this bread on prescription, and the dates on the packaging often don’t match the supermarket dates. Alliance Healthcare also delivers late to the pharmacy, so it’s even more frustrating when the bread finally arrives in such terrible condition.

I have photos proving all of this, but this company has disabled the option for customers to upload photos. It’s incredibly frustrating that Trustpilot allows companies to block visual evidence, especially when we rely on this platform to be fair and independent.
It really makes you wonder if companies are paying to hide the truth.

For a gluten-free product that people depend on for their health, this is completely unacceptable.

Poor quality, late deliveries, and customer service that doesn’t care.
I won’t be ordering this again and strongly warn others to think twice before trusting this company.

I received below reply today… 19/09/205
Many thanks for letting us know of the disappointment you had with a recent loaf, this is certainly not the quality you should expect.

There are several factors that can contribute to texture inconsistencies, all of which we try to control during our manufacturing process. The information you have helpfully provided has been passed on to our bakers who will use this within the continuous improvement plan we actively have on our breads.

Any complaint is taken very seriously, all are logged, tracked and reported on a weekly basis to the business Management Teams. A very keen interest is given to consumer complaints with a drive to reduce their occurrence.

Alliance Healthcare are the distributer and supplier for all prescription bread, they are who your pharmacy should contact if there are any issues with orders or deliveries.

Hope this helps.

Mouldy bread

My bread went Mouldy Before the best before date, but try finding someone to complain to, the phone number on the packet says go on the website, their website is a joke whatever you click on it goes back to the same page with no contact information. Won't be buying their bread again, it's too expensive to waste!!!

Worst gluten free bread ever

Worst gluten free bread ever!

So they say they have Toastie bread. What an appalling excuse for bread, it’s dry and tasteless. This really should not be on the market at all. I wasted my money and my tastebuds YUCK

Recipe changed to taste like cardboard, fall apart, and half the size

I use to LOVE the genius bread! It was the only gluten free bread I would buy. The farmhouse one. I haven’t eaten bread for a while and I just bought some of this, and they’ve taken away anything that was good about it.
It was the only GF bread that was normal size, but now they’ve shrunk it.
It was the only GF bread that wasn’t like cardboard. But now it is exactly like the cheaper loafs, it’s literal dry cardboard and you waste half the loaf anyway as it just falls apart.
Never buying from this company again unless someone tells me they’ve changed back to the old bread. Absolute waste of money. Just buy the supermarket GF bread as it’s actually better now, and cheaper.

Bread falls to bits and customer service non existent

The gluten free multi seeded bread just falls to bits before I get it out of the bag.
Tried to contact genius. I filled in a contact form …… no reply . I sent an email to the address on the website . I’ve tried ringing many times but can’t get to speak to anyone. Even tried messaging through their Facebook page but nothing !
Their customer care is appalling. I won’t ever buy their bread again. Don’t waste your money.
I’ve just seen you are going to forward my review to the same email address I used and got no response !

Multi Seeded Soggy Toast

I have been using the multi seeded farmhouse for years but I'm sorry to see that it has changed formula. It was the only gluten free bread that made decent toast but now unfortunately it is like all the rest, going soggy and spongy as soon as you put something on it. The new formula looks like it would make a nice sandwich but that isn't why I bought it. How about bringing out a decent toast version too? No one else has that spot in the market.

What went wrong Genius?

produced the best gluten free bread on the market when it first came out. Sad long decline. The one bread that didn't taste like cardboard now is either damp, full of holes or falls to pieces in your hands.
Fair enough they give you vouchers but spent one on the Scotch Pancakes and they smelt and tasted like something unprintable. Super sweet and damp no matter how much I tried to bake grill or toast. Had 2 threw the rest away.
What went wrong Genius?
