Genesis Capital - Poor Experience
My experience with Genesis Capital was very disappointing. From the beginning, I found the company difficult to deal with. Communication was slow, inconsistent, and often unclear, which made the entire process stressful. I expected a financial services firm to provide transparency and reliability, but instead I was left feeling frustrated and uninformed. After poor initial experience with Austin Isaacs I wrote the CEO and Sales Head because this was off the rails. The complaint was past down to Todd Barnett whose first words to me was, "how can I help you" as if I were standing at a Walmart counter and taking up his time. Then after explaining the issues he replied, "I thought you had to discuss something on my level". I was a bit confused. I had already sent the complete deal breakdown to Todd. He obviously never read it. He did inform me that he hadn't read it but he can see why they didn't look at it. Not a great thorough evaluation there by Todd Barnet I would you say. Then he past me on to another sales person, Andrew, who informed me that for a 3.5 million deal I would need 50% equity in the deal yet I was told they can do up to 100 million. This felt nothing short of generic or dismissive. Obviously, Todd informed him to quickly get rid of me. This lack of support made me feel like my concerns were not taken seriously.
On top of that, the process felt unnecessarily complicated and drawn out. Rather than providing solutions, Genesis Capital seemed to create more problems. I did not feel like they had my best interests in mind.
Overall, I would not recommend Genesis Capital based on my experience. If you are looking for a company that values communication, transparency, and client trust, I suggest considering other options.
