I really enjoyed studying with general assembly. I am desperate to switch my career into IT. But I didn’t get any internships in python language. If you help me to find out something for me any volunteer work or internships. I am so happy to work on it.

Honest Review of General Assembly's Data Science Immersive
If you're considering enrolling in the General Assembly's Data Science Immersive program, I urge you to pause and reconsider. While the allure of a promising career in data science is strong, this program, unfortunately, falls short of its hefty price tag.
Firstly, the cost of the program is exorbitantly high, and one would expect a high caliber of education and engagement in return. However, the reality is a stark contrast. The instruction quality is underwhelming, with the instructor often seeming disinterested, merely going through the motions as if wishing to be elsewhere. This lack of enthusiasm and engagement is not only disappointing but also detrimental to the learning experience.
The program's purported value lies in its career placement support. However, this too is largely overhyped. The career advice provided is generic at best, lacking the personalized touch and insight one would expect from a program of this stature. As for career placement, it's more a facade than a reality. The job opportunities they forward are nothing more than formalities. A recruiter, in a moment of candor, even admitted to me that their hiring decisions were pre-made, and their engagement with General Assembly was merely to maintain the relationship with General Assembly.
A particularly concerning aspect I discovered mid-program was the manipulation of employment statistics. General Assembly combines the employment results of their Data Analytics and Data Science Immersives to present a rosier picture of job placement success. This blending of statistics is not only misleading but also misrepresents the true outcomes for Data Science students specifically. Many graduates, including myself, found that the majority of job placements were in data analytics roles, which require a different skill set than what is taught in the Data Science Immersive. The marketing tactics employed by General Assembly are deceptive, painting an unrealistic picture of the program's outcomes.
As someone who has gone through the program, my advice to potential students is straightforward: save your money and time. There are myriad resources and pathways to enter the field of data science that are more cost-effective and genuinely supportive of your career aspirations. General Assembly's Data Science Immersive, unfortunately, is not one of them.
I loved the instructor
I loved the instructor. The registration and onboarding process was confusing and the person who assisted me was quite rude. Finding a job after graduating the course has been extremely difficult. I was told there’d be help after the course with networking and finding new jobs which didn’t occur. I didn’t feel the cost justified what was provided.
Great tutors and lessons
Great tutors, lessons where well structured and comprehensible. Length of the course was ideal.
Amazing course, Amazing Instructors
My instructors were extremely helpful and approachable, which makes it so easy to engage with the materials and learn. I cannot speak more highly of this course and my instructors.
The skills that I have learned have helped me look at data in a different way and to use Excel, Tableau, and SQL effectively. I also think the course has given me an approach to data that I have applied to other tools like Power BI. While these tools are not the same, I can look at data, know what needs to be done, and understand how to display it effectively.
Software Engineering - Great Educators, Great Education
I think that the whole experience has really been refined over the years, and it really shows. The tech stack used to teach the students (Github Repos, Slack, Zoom) has been organized and well planned, allowing the students to really focus on learning. The teachers are some of the most relatable people, but they are experts in their knowledge of the coding concepts necessary to start coding. I feel that after leaving this bootcamp for Software Engineering (while that market has been flooded with recent layoffs), I feel thoroughly equipped knowing the basics of web development and SWE, and feel that I have a solid foundation to go and chase bigger and better projects with the skills I've obtained in bootcamp.
Great instructors and curriculum
Great instructors and curriculum. I learned alot. Great community as well on Slack. My only qualm would be with the way the program oversold itself in the outcomes section. The market for junior engineers is terrible right now, and although we graduated 8 months ago nobody in my cohort has found fulltime work as a dev..
Good learning environment
The materials taught are highly relevant and currently applied in the industry, specifically in Singapore. While the learning here has its limitations, it provides a solid foundation for further exploration as you enter the industry. Beyond knowledge, the instructors, career coaches, and staff are exceptionally supportive. They are approachable and eager to assist students. Given the nature of the bootcamp, the overall environment is conducive to learning, with everyone sharing the common goal of learning. It's certainly a distinctive educational experience compared to traditional schooling. Certainly, don't anticipate spoon-fed education; there are instances where you genuinely need to stretch yourself and delve deeper.
