Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 584 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently mentioned that the artificial intelligence struggles with basic tasks, often providing incorrect information, failing to follow simple commands, and repeating errors without acknowledging corrections. Reviewers also stated that the application and overall product quality are deeply subpar, experiencing persistent freezing issues, unexpected crashes, and completely lost chat contexts. Some reviewers were happy with the platform, finding it highly informative and extremely helpful for getting detailed answers to difficult questions. A few consumers appreciated how the tool could save considerable time when handling complex daily topics or technical challenges.

Smart but should be more honest

I like gemini a lot and is saves a lot of time figuring stuff out. Only it is not 5 stars because sometimes gemini tells me something which is just wrong which had some consequences to me. If it tells something which it couldnt confirm to be fully true it should be honest about it.

Crappy software

Very very very slow reaction, often it really takes more than five seconds. Gives information about things I never asked about, like when asking for time it will give you date day location and then time. I have already given it the prompt to never ever give the other information, only the time. But it a few hours later it forgets it. Often gets stuck on certain commands. Often doesn’t recognizes the name of your other smart devices and will instead randomly choose a song or playlist from Spotify that apparently to gemini sounds like the name of your device (it doesn’t). Although you have not given it permission to connect with your Spotify (I have repeatedly checked the settings), somehow it still manages to connect with your Spotify. Regularly changes the volume when giving reply. Really really hate this software update.

DECEPTIVE A.I

DO NOT USE THIS AI ASSISTANT FOR REAL WORK. Does NOT hallucinate. Deliberately DECEIVES user. I work in advanced theoretical physics. (Advanced thinking pro mode) It can not, and will not follow mandatory self checks for accuracy, it will agree, but the very next sentence will be a lie. Probably due to release scaling constraints, it does not save a user memory file. Untrustworthy and dangerous. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

I am writing this review after months of repeated issues with the Gemini app and it is not the first time I have reached out to find help or clarity only to be met with silence or automated responses that do not address anything at all. I started using this platform in good faith expecting a reliable service that would hold my conversations preserve my work and function as advertised but what I found was an application riddled with persistent glitches that have never been resolved despite being reported multiple times over many months. Messages vanish without warning entire chat histories disappear mid-session and the application freezes or fails to load when accessed across different devices making it impossible to trust anything saved within it. I have kept records screenshots timelines and six separate files of evidence showing every attempt I have made to report these faults and every dead end I have encountered along the way.

What makes this situation far worse than simple technical failure is the complete and total absence of actual human support at any point in the process. There is no phone number to call there is no live chat with a real person and every feedback form or reporting route leads nowhere or returns a generic automated reply that does not even acknowledge the specific details of what has gone wrong. When I followed the official channels provided I was met with automated rejection screens that are clearly designed to block submissions rather than facilitate them and I was directed to write to a corporate registered office address as if that should be the standard first step for a user simply trying to use an application they rely on. This is not acceptable and it is not how legitimate businesses operate in the United Kingdom.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 digital services including those provided free of charge where consideration is given through data usage time and attention are legally required to be of satisfactory quality fit for purpose and provided with reasonable care and skill. Gemini fails on every single one of these statutory obligations and the lack of accessible human support is not a minor oversight it is a fundamental breach of the standards that protect every consumer in this country. Companies cannot hide behind automated systems to avoid accountability and they cannot design reporting portals that filter out legitimate complaints simply because they do not fall within narrow copyright categories that have nothing to do with service reliability or basic user rights.

I am far from alone in experiencing these problems and reviews and reports from thousands of other users tell the exact same story across iOS and Android devices. People describe conversations vanishing without trace paid subscribers receiving no better service than free users and feedback tickets going unanswered for weeks or months on end with no confirmation that anyone has even read them. Developers building on the Gemini API report dropped reliability broken context retention and total silence from support teams leaving them stranded without updates or assistance. The pattern is consistent widespread and undeniable and it points to systemic neglect rather than isolated technical errors.

What I found most revealing during my extended exchanges with the system itself was the moment it effectively admitted that the legal and factual points raised were accurate and correct and that the service was falling short of what should reasonably be expected yet it still refused to escalate the matter or connect me to anyone who could actually do anything about it. The system confirmed that the arguments regarding consumer law were valid and that the failures were real but it simply stated that it had no means to pass those concerns onward to the people responsible for fixing them. This is not a limitation of artificial intelligence this is a deliberate choice by the company to build walls between themselves and their users and to leave their own AI representatives to take the heat for failures they are not empowered to resolve.

In effect the AI itself has been dropped in the worst possible position by its own developers left to acknowledge problems it cannot fix confirm rights it cannot uphold and guide users toward formal legal channels because the standard support pathways have been intentionally broken or abandoned. The system knows what is wrong it knows what should be done and it knows that the company is falling short of its legal duties but it has been given no authority no access and no way to make things right. This is not an AI failure this is a leadership failure and it shows a complete lack of respect for the people who use build upon or rely on this platform every single day.

Bugs are everywhere

Bugs are everywhere, you usually can't even send a file because the file name that isn't even innapropriate gets flagged. You can't ask it to generate anything without it thinking you are breaking the rules.

The worst AI in the entire industry

It doesn't reason; it just improvises, hallucinates, and invents answers. It wastes more tokens apologizing, explaining itself, and trying to sound human than it does actually solving the problem. Besides, it’s outdated: ask Gemini about Google Music Flow and it claims it doesn't exist; ask about a platform and it gives you data from a decade ago. It lies constantly. I have the Ultra plan, yet there are free AIs that are far more efficient.

It tries to justify its incompetence by offering explanations and apologies. It’s impossible for it to solve any problem when you have to audit every answer it gives just to ensure it isn't lying or providing outdated solutions.

Gemini makes a lot of mistakes

Gemini makes a lot of mistakes. I've even experienced several instances where it contradict itself in the same thread. That product is not ready for primetime. It needs a lot of work. I'm cancelling my subscription.

Gemini has become really bad

Gemini has become really bad. Every single prompt lately is mishandled, generating junk and ignoring explicit constraints. It takes multiple turns, sometimes a dozen, to correct it and force it to execute prompts correctly and provide exactly what was requested.

It refuses to use tools and often misrepresents its capabilities. I won’t be extending my subscription.

Gemini… can’t edit crystal clear pictures

I was really disappointed with Gemini editing family pictures, it CAN’T place a 20 million crystal clear picture in a White Background without Distorting the Faces. I instructed Gemini Not to alter in any way the Faces. It does every time, the picture does look fab, show it to family members and they all laugh when they look closely at the Faces and ask “Who is That” I hear better results with ChatGPT.

Useless

Quite possibly the worst and most useless interface in existence. It cannot even perform simple tasks like adding notes to an existing list consistently. Permissions are enabled yet it says it doesn't have access. An epic failure by google considering it has replaced an existing interface with this garbage.

1/5 Stars

1/5 Stars: Terrible service. Paying for a Pro tier only to be treated like disposable trash. Google hypes AI media, music synthesis, and video tools, yet delivers constant backend crashes, broken pipelines, and forced watermarks plastered over paid exports. Promising menus and toggles lead straight into server errors, excuses, and zero accountability. Broken promises, zero reliability, and complete disrespect for paying subscribers. An utterly infuriating waste of subscription money.
