Dreadful! Flush doesn't work, original installer went silent when reported fault, other plumbers shrug their shoulders and laugh at the 'childs cheap toy' quality of the internal fittings. This was expensive and has been a disaster. The worst piece of sanitary ware I have ever encountered. I thought I was buying a Swiss quality product not realising that the business had been taken over by a bunch of British city slickers who appear to have trashed a once reputable brand
Enclosed cistern unit developed a leak and had to be replaced. The bathroom fitters contacted the the company for a replacement as it was our only toilet. Geberit said to send in claim once all the work had been completed. When the claim was submitted along with video footage of the cistern they have categorically refused to honour this as no claim reference number can be provided. The bathroom fitters said this was an phone conversation and the replacement unit was needed ASAP.
I have a Geberit AquaClean 8000plus toilet, and at the time of writing this, have had it for some 3 years.
It is a lovely easy to use toilet for the disabled, all the bells and whistles so to speak, great quality.
In all the time it's been installed I've not had a single issue with it.
Once I contacted Geberit support with a question about it, and got a prompt reply, fully answering my question.
I fully recommend this Geberit product & the company!
Beware of any products (in our case a Hydr8 shower screen) linked to Geberit that offer a ‘lifetime’ warranty - these warranties come with so many technical exclusions that they are not worth the paper they written on.
Great after sales service!
Quick response via telephone system
Engineer was quick to assist and boom in onsite visit
Visiting engineer provided regular comma in the day on expected eta.
Upon arrival Patrice was courteous and professional all the way through! Thank you
I bought a Geberit concealed cistern and white flush plate online. Beware the flush plate is a separate purchase which is insanely expensive (£60-£70) for what is basically a cheap bit of plastic. I feel that I have been conned.
Had 2 Geberit cisterns fitted 4 years ago. Have to dis assemble them at least every year to clear a problem with a seal or an inlet valve. The company say this is a simple process but it involves completely removing the workings to access the seal which can be compromised by a small piece of grit in the water supply - and it all takes at least 2 hours for a layman. We have a soft water machine but in a hard water area with no softener it must be much worse. The cisterns cost £700 + each plus installation. The UK operation are helpful but there is a basic problem with the product. They need a re engineer on the valve and seal. I've used normal cisterns for 70 years and never had these maintenance problems.
Have subsequently found that some of the problem is that my cistern is tank fed and the tank is old and may contain contaminants that 'gum up' the Geberit. Have to disassemble and clean out regularly but the spare parts are reasonable, the after sales staff helpful and the cistern itself is efficient - so apologies to geberit!
