Just like everyone else I came here after being forced to download the new app, and just like everyone else, I hate it!
I can no longer just have my favourite magazine caterorgies on one page, in chronological order, where I can easily see what I’ve read. Now there isn’t even a separate tab for magazines and everything is thrown in together…
I spent 10 minutes trying to work out what to do, closed the app, emailed to cancel my subscription and cancelled my payments through the bank.
Readly, thank you for the last ten years, it really has been great but unless you revert back to the old layout, I won’t be returning.

New app is appalling. User Interface is awful, have to run the app twice before it lets me in. Doesn't show magazine covers even when running on WiFi with a very fast fibre connection. Going to Cancel after several years of being a sunsciber

What an absolute S***show. The new app is atrocious. We can no longer access puzzles.
The content is all over the place, some previous titles no longer available. Tried to cancel my subscription online and it is not allowing cancellations ( surely illegal).
I will be cancelling my direct debit. A great app destroyed by corporate greed.

Been using Readly for several years and was very happy with it, but no longer. They recently "updated" the app and it's a total disaster. For a start all your saved bookmarks are gone and the whole thing has been rearranged. Previously every title zoomed to your saved setting, making it easy to read, now it's random chance if it fits on a page or you need a microscope to see it.
Seriously considering cancelling subscription.
**UPDATE**
As per the reply, I can now access my bookmarked articles, but it's not easy or obvious.
There is a Saved option in the floating menu that appears when you first open the app. But if you have already closed this, then you have to scroll to the very bottom of the page, past all the garbage they think you want, but don't. Then in a sea of menu options look for "saved", and there are your bookmarks. Very good, but now there is no way back, no Home or Return button, so you have to restart the entire app.
The menu is actually one of my main gripes, it floats in front of the main screen and can only be closed with no way to summon it back. Also the banner that welcomes you, but serves no other purpose, sits in front of the magazines titles and just gets in the way. It doesnt disappear or move up when you scroll, but just steals 20% of the screen for no reason. I know my name, and what website I am on, I don't need a constant reminder.
Just fix all this crap and act like a professional media company, not some amateur hobbyist learning to make web pages.

I would normally give a 5, but this app is awful!!!!
Seems like a backward step. Keeps crashing.
Bring back the old experience

I have subscribed to this since it 1st started in the UK. Been pretty happy over that time. However the recent update has totally ruined the experience. Don't know who signed this off, but they need to think again.
Gone from an easy to navigate app to something bordering on unusable.
Very likely to cancel my subscription unless a correction is coming.

Used to be great but not anymore!
I was a great fan of readily and regularly recommended the app and use it on a daily basis. Unfortunately it is now terrible. The platform is awful and the ability to do puzzles and crossword puzzles in newspapers and magazines has gone.
I contacted the support team who basically told me that you can’t do puzzles anymore. Pdf format is used and basically a great platform has been ruined by the new company. As the old adage says if it’s not broken don’t fix it.

OMG, this new app is so awful, but it may be by design to cover how drastically Readly has cut their content. Transferring over from the old app you lose all your bookmarked titles (by design?) It is impossible to search the whole catalogue anymore, all attempts to see non UK titles are blocked, the app seems to be little more than a pdf reader and the whole thing may well be the death of the service.

stupid
what a fuc... up is this ? take care of your customer and vring ALL the old features back, i mean ALL

A perfectly good app is now unusable.
Can’t do puzzles anymore - the main reason I subscribe.
Can’t identify which issues of a magazine I have already read and my library has disappeared.
Ready have lost a loyal customer.

Very disappointed with the new app. We can no longer complete the crossword and other puzzles in the newspapers or the puzzle magazines. A big part of the reason for subscribing was to do puzzles. Also my bookmarked articles have been removed. So two big disadvantages in the new app. We would much rather have kept the old app. Considering cancelling the subscription.

Have been a happy subscriber since 2023. The latest update means that the app wont work on any of my ipads as the app wont work with older devices. I tried to cancel, but they have made it impossible to cancel the subscription which seems dodgy to say the least. Would not recommend and advise anyone thinking of this company to steer well clear unless they decide to change their ways.

Have been a subscriber for many years and recommended it to many friends. Would have happily given it a 5 star rating, but now must agree with all of the negative comments. The new app that has been forced on me is an utter shambles.
They need to get their act together fast and restore the previous app or cancellation will follow within the month.

Readly is a fantastic way of accessing written media like magazines and newspapers (5 stars). The latest app is not as easy to navigate as the previous version and some titles seem to have disappeared.

Used to be the best app ever, but the new app has taken away one of the best features, the ability to complete crosswords and puzzles from daily papers, magazines etc.
Will we get a price reduction for losing this feature? Very disappointed, considering cancellation.

I've been subscribing to Readly for many years, but now after being forced to download the new app, I am finding it impossible to use.
It is difficult to find content as the search facility is extremely poor. Most of the bookmarks I saved over the past 5 years have disappeared, and many of the magazines (and their back copies) are no longer available.
I will be cancelling

Have been a subscriber for years. What have the done?! The new version is awful following removal of App, do difficult to read and scroll.

Readly has now become Unreadly
What used to be a clean, intuitive way to browse and enjoy magazines has somehow been redesigned into something far less usable. The new interface feels like it’s been built around aesthetic and article promotion rather than how people actually read.
Simple things now take more effort. Navigation is clunkier, key features feel buried or removed and the overall experience is less fluid. Instead of dipping in and enjoying content, you find yourself hunting for it.
Have tried to cancel my subscription, but they are currently not allowing it.Probably because they are haemorrhaging subscribers. What a mess.

I have had to download the new app which now does not provide the ability to do crosswords, suduko, etc in the puzzle magazines. When I contacted customer support they got back to me and they said "it is no longer possible" and told me to use the "Games" option that is available. Half the reason I have the app is for the puzzle magazines. I sent them another email asking if this was permanent, no response. Also when I tried to do the "Interactive Edition" of Suduko Puzzle Masters it doesn't work either. So in conclusion, if you are thinking of getting this for the puzzles, don't because readinga codewords magazine isn't as much fun as you think it is going to be!

Like many other Reviewers, I was forced to download the new app which is a step backwards from the previous version. Titles that I had read for many years had simply disappeared and I decided to cancel my subscription, however, on the landing page for cancellation there is a message telling me that “Cancellation of your subscription is not possible right now but you’ll be able to do so within the next few days”. So I’ve checked back on several occasions and this has not changed. I contacted Customer Support by email but I’ve not heard anything back from them, in the meantime I’ve instructed my bank not to pay Readly any money. This is a real mess and I for one will not be back.
