I went on a works Christmas meal to Gaucho Manchester. The service wasn’t good. We had food arrive we didn’t order and we were charged for it. The wine order was taken wrong and we were told we wouldn’t pay extra but it was still added. The service charge is daylight robbery as the service we received was poor. The steak was the only nice part. I have since complained and got only one reply to 4 emails to say someone believed the restaurant had received it. Since then despite requesting a response I’ve been completely ignored. Their customer service is beyond incompetent. Unless you are going to turn up eat a single steak and leave I wouldn’t bother.

An almost empty restaurant by 8pm. 3 tables out fo 30+ still occupied. I wonder why?
The supposed Minestrone contained no tomatoes of any description, no discernible pasta and was a watery green inedible mess.
The Chateau Briand was acceptable but not cooked as requested.
House water is £5.50 a bottle and the wines are expensive.
We will not be going back to Gaucho and I fear for the company’s future.
The prices should reflect the facilities!!!
Visited the Richmond branch.
Starter - Minestrone soup - very tasty, a little salty
Main course - Chimichurri ribeye for main with side of green vegetables and mash potato - tasty
Dessert - Pancakes with banana split ice cream - tasty
Enjoyed all of it. Was even happy to pay the £170 bill (including wine) except when I went to the toilets and saw how disgraceful they were, e.g. dirt, dust, mould, lots of black marks/stains which the General Manager casually told me were from smoke (not sure how that makes it OK).
General Manager assured me next time I visit the above will be rectified.
Let’s see????
AMAZING BURGER GREAT SERVICE!
Our server was Ana Bianca, she was super professional with a great recommendation for a Melbec that was delicious. I have to recommend the burger, I know it is a steakhouse but the burger is FANTASTIC!!
Shocking service
After looking on there website we decided to book Manchester for our anniversary on Valentine’s Day. The service was absolutely atrocious, the staff were wearing dirty white shirts and there was just no etiquette about them whatsoever, it’s like it was a chore to serve you. We was placed on small table in the dark, and couldn’t read the menu, the candle was not lit. We ordered the £115 chateaubriand medium rare, it arrived in what can only be
described has a hospital metal bed pan and was more rare than medium rare, we had to ask for the condiments as none on the table. A couple of young ladies got up and went to the toilet and when they came and they had re set the table for more guest, the shock on their faces was priceless.
Gaucho Birmingham
I would like to acknowledge that both the waiting staff and the quality of the food were good. However, this was significantly undermined by the conduct of the restaurant manager, Dominic, whose handling of the situation was disappointing and unprofessional.
It was clear that the manager was struggling to cope with the pressures of service and, as a result, made it evident to our waiter that our table needed to vacate. This occurred despite the fact that our party of six had only just completed dessert, had been dining for approximately two hours, and had spent in excess of £400.
When we attempted to raise our concerns regarding his manner and approach, the manager was dismissive and unwilling to engage in any meaningful discussion. The matter was brushed aside with a cursory verbal apology, which did not adequately address the situation or our concerns.
Had a very disappointing Christmas Day…
Had a very disappointing Christmas Day lunch at the Covent Garden branch.
Place didn’t have a very Christmassy feel and there were no crackers for example. The worst bit was the food. Luke warm food at best but mostly cold.
Served with potatoes and Brussel sprouts which were raw and inedible.
The feeling was they were a steak restaurant and overwhelmed with a Christmas menu and most people choosing turkey.
My advice is to try elsewhere.
Had a works Christmas dinner in Gaucho
Had a works Christmas dinner in Gaucho, staff were great, food was amazing, great service from all staff.
Got terrible food poisoning
Got terrible food poisoning. Was really unwell for several days. Gaucho carried out an investigation and concluded that because I didn't go to the doctor that it couldn't have been caused by them.
Day ruined
The staff at the entrance were really friendly but the waitress was so rude. The food was excellent but because of attitude of waitress it ruined the day for me and my partner.
Very disappointing experience
Very disappointing experience – would not recommend
We booked our Christmas party for a group of 31 people and were extremely disappointed with both the service and the management's response.
Service on the night was painfully slow – there was only one server for our entire party, meaning some guests finished their drinks before others had even received theirs. The main courses were poorly timed too, with steaks arriving first, and potatoes and vegetables not served until around 30 minutes later, by which point the meal was cold and unappetising. Dessert took so long that many of us left without being served at all.
We raised our concerns with several members of management and were assured the issue would be looked into and that someone would get back to us. Despite following up multiple times over the past five months, we’ve received no response or resolution.
If you value good food, efficient service and responsive management, I would strongly recommend choosing a different venue. A very disappointing experience from start to finish.
Just WOW!!🤩 We‘ve been the First time…
Just WOW!!🤩 We‘ve been the First time at Gaucho in the Sloane Avenue and Diego made our visit unforgettable. It really was an experience, we Never forget. I asked Diego if he is the owner of the Restaurant, he is not. But we felt his love to his Job and that makes it Special! Compliments! All the best.
Awful experience!
Awful experience!! Went here on Valentine’s Day with my boyfriend and we were crammed like sardines in the Richmond branch. The waiters tried to bring our mains over when we just received our starters, meaning the mains were cold once arrived. For what you charge, you should not be serving cold fatty steaks. Really disappointed and hope to hear from Guacho about this soon.
Excellent lunch and service
Excellent lunch and service. Would definitely recommend and going back in a couple of weeks with other friends
Too many issues for the price
Went to Gauch recently with my family to celebrate my Son's birthday. For a premium restaurant where you are paying c.£350 for 4 people you expect a premium service so while the below are all minor points there were too many minor points.
- Ordered a bottle of Red. It came but it was a different year to that advertised
- Two of the steaks were over-done, one was meant to be medium rare and was closer to medium well
- Ordered a chocolate brownie for my son but he got a cheesecake. When we questioned it the waitress simply said 'Well you are getting it on the house for his birthday' and walked off
Will find it very hard to justify going to a gaucho again
Don not trust their offer
"I visited the restaurant after seeing an offer on the menu for any two courses at $24. Though I understand that extras like drinks and sides may incur additional charges, the final bill exceeded what was expected based on the $24 deal. Despite confirming this offer with the staff when ordering, I was surprised to find the actual menu prices on the bill. When questioned, they insisted on a specific ordering method, contradicting the advertised deal. This deceptive practice showcases how they mislead customers and coerce them into paying more. A cautionary tale - don't trust their advertised deals."
If Carlsberg made Steak Resturaunts.
We had a private dining experience as a family group at Gaucho Leeds. The service, the food, and the whole experience were top-class. Thank you to all concerned.
