Great customer service

I was really impressed with the customer service from Gathera. I had ordered some full spectrum 3 head clip on lights in the sale but was about to go on holiday. They very kindly held my order to dispatch once I was home again to receive it.
Unfortunately when it arrived today the box was damaged. No sign of any damage on the outside so it must have been sent this way. It looks like someone put their finger through the box trying to push it into the packaging. Pity about this as otherwise I would have given full marks. Fortunately the lights were not damaged.

Delayed Order, Poor Communication, Conflicting Explanations

I placed an order for a Sun Shelf and hydroponics basin on the 10th and the experience since has been extremely poor.

After ordering, I received no dispatch update or tracking information for over 10 days. During that time, I also contacted the company through their website and received no response.

I was later told that delays were due to a warehouse move and high order volume from a sale. However, this doesn’t really add up, as I placed a separate order for another item which was dispatched within 2 days.

I was then contacted to say the hydroponics basin was out of stock and asked if I wanted to proceed with just the Sun Shelf and a refund. I responded immediately confirming this, but despite that, the Sun Shelf still hasn’t been dispatched.

Overall, communication has been poor and inconsistent, and I’ve had to chase for basic updates while receiving conflicting explanations.

Very disappointing experience—I’d be cautious ordering if you expect reliable dispatch times or clear communication.

As a side note. I just want my shelf... Please... I want to grow my dwarf tomatoes indoors. I have absolutely no idea what kind of messing around is happening in that warehouse but please just send me my sunshelf3...

My sunpatch (roof part ordered 2 days ago) has shipped within 2 days. To wait 16 days and they haven't even created a Shipping label for my sun shelf is ridiculous.

Despite the delays and lack of communication, the only response provided has been a simple apology and a “thank you for your patience,” with no meaningful resolution or compensation.

***EDIT*** received the items on the 26th The staff clearly try their best over email. The products themselves are great I'm really happy with the sunshelf, sun patch and hydro basin.

Speaking on behalf of the hydro basin. The current lid is so flimsy that after applying it as carefully as possible to not damage it. It's cracked and broken in the corner. Clearly a cheap thin lid that unfortunately will require a redesign. I look forward to potentially a better design. As I like this company even after all the hassle.

Thank you for the updated review. We're so sorry that there were initially so many errors with the order but we do try our best to make sure that we fix these as best we can.

The Hydro Basin lid has received similar feedback in the past and we are working on improving the design for future iterations. Our intention with the basin is to be the largest hydroponic basin that you can get of this style for the price.

Poor quality products and customer…

Poor quality products and customer care. I have the Gathera clip on red/blue grow light and when it works it's quite good, the plants seem to like it, but the problem is reliability. It goes through spells of working ok (although don't bother trying the timer function because that doesn't work), and then will go through even longer spells of not turning on, no matter how much you jiggle the cheap usb cable in the cheap plastic wall adaptor (with wayyy too much wiggle room). I sent video evidence to Gathera of it not turning on, and after some really generic and unhelpful troubleshooting processes, they eventually agreed to return the product. I haven't taken them up on this because it was too much faff and would leave me without a grow light for the remaining 40% of the time it works. I would generally avoid any company in future where you see their co-founders having to respond on a case by case basis to bad reviews because their customer service team is unable to do a good enough job first time.

Faulty product

The light I bought from you 4 months ago (September 2025) stopped working properly. The button which adjusts the intensity of the light does not respond

Customer Service Very good

I bought a product that unfortunately got lost in transit. Despite this though I had a generally good experience as Tamara solved the problem efficiently and I got a replacement product so the customer service was excellent.

My North Facing Dungeon is now a Jungle!

I honestly didn’t think my north facing living room could ever support a proper collection of plants, but the Gathera Sun Shelf and Sun Bulb Pendant have completely changed that. What used to feel like a bit of a light starved dungeon will now be a full on indoor jungle!!!
The Sun Shelf quality genuinely surprised me. The bamboo wood is solid, beautifully finished, and miles better than the cheap, flimsy shelving you often see elsewhere. It feels premium, sturdy, and well thought out. Assembly was very straightforward too. All the brackets for the LED lights fully installed already & lined up perfectly. It was so easy and wasn't frustrating like most flat packs!!!
The Sun Bulb Pendant is both versatile and really well designed. It looks great even when it’s not switched on, and the adjustable light direction makes it easy to tailor for different plants and heights. Since installing it, my plants have responded incredibly well. No sulking, no stress, just healthy growth!
A special mention for customer service. It’s clearly a small team, but that actually shows in a good way. Every question I had was answered quickly, and with a genuinely friendly, personal approach. You don’t feel like just another order number.
If you’re struggling with low light or want a setup that’s both functional and beautiful, I can’t recommend Gathera highly enough. It’s completely changed how I can use my space.

Sun Bulb | Full spectrum LED grow light…

Sun Bulb | Full spectrum LED grow light with adjustable lens and tilt. This product looks really good and the fact you have an additional item with an app to set up times, turn on/off makes it really good. Product is really good. I will write another review once I see results seeing my plants happy and thriving!
Also, I’ve seen a review saying it’s really hot when touch. It is hot but that’s normal (energy, heat) and it is not extremely hot that will hurt you unless you keep your hands for longer longer period… anyway I just thought this could helpful for those who might be scared of the product due to a little normal heat.

Gathera, keep it up creating and refining more products that make our plants thriving!!

Crap product that barely lasts a few years.
Had an eco kitchen unit whoch at the two year mark had an electrical fault that kept popping fuses and risked an electrical fire in my home 😔
When i contacted to ask about warranties or parts was told its out of warranty and had no parts available(wonder why)
Asked for discount to repurchase and was offered 10 percent for a product that cost me hundreds and didnt last long and was a massive safety risk.
Will never buy from this company again!

I'm Dilhan, one of the co-founders of gathera. I've had a look through your customer service chat with Tamara and I can understand your frustration.

For starters I'd like to note that all of our products are 24V or under and RCA and SAA certified - meaning they are safe for the Australian market. We have sold almost 100k grow lights/smart gardens and had no issues, so I want to guarantee you that there is no legitimate electrical fire danger that could be posed from our EcoKitchen. We did not clearly communicate this to ease your concerns.

In your situation I believe it is likely that the pump or adaptor on your EcoKitchen failed, which could be fixed with a replacement part. I can see Tamara offered you to purchase a replacement part as it were out of warranty (purchased in April 2022 and therefore replacement parts are not free). We did not communicate the options that you had correctly. I believe a phone call would have been suitable as there are a few pathways that you might have had at that point.

We did offer a 10% discount on your next purchase, I believe our customer service representative could have offered more. I am sorry that it was not to your liking.

Overall we're sorry that you've had a poor experience and will take your feedback on to improve moving forward.

I have been in talks with Tamara at Gathera, who seems disinterested and has refused to provide me with a power supply, or even information on where to get it. Absolutely appalling customer service, effectively being told that I can't read, having them send me highlighted pictures of their vague wording.
Don't use this company, unless you intend on soend hundreds buying all of their kit rather than just a few pieces.

I'm Dilhan, one of the founders of Gathera, and I am deeply sorry for the poor experience that you have had with us.

From a high level I can see that your £56 order was refunded after your discussions with customer service highlighted that you were unhappy with the product.

Looking at the situation I understand that the 2x sun panels that you bought are heavily discounted clearance item that are almost 75% off their initial sale price. The product page referred mostly to their use with our main product "the sun shelf" which has a power supply, but I understand that there was no clear statement noting that it did not come with a power supply.

Of course the biggest failure in this query is with our customer service team. Power adaptors for this product are readily available and quite affordable. I apologise that our team were unable to point you in the right direction to find a solution that would enable you to use your sun panels.

We've taken on this feedback to ensure that our team guides our customers to the right places for spares and compatibility concerns. We've done years of work to ensure that our products are easily compatible with off the shelf parts - so this is a big disappointment on our part to not be able to help you.

Excellent communication and service

I had previously bought a Sunshelf 2 which I was very pleased with. I wanted 2 extra growbasins but couldn’t find the product on the website. I contacted Gathera…they had discontinued the basins but had 1 set available. The communication was great..fast, friendly and helpful response to my enquiry. The basins were dispatched immediately, well packaged and arrived in perfect condition. Beans and basil now growing rapidly in the new units. Fabulous! Thank you.

Very fast delivery, items arrived well packaged. Missed an item off the original order, but the issue was swiftly resolved by Tamara in Customer services, and the missing item was quickly sent. Helpful and responsive with good communications.

I have seven grow lights and a…

I have seven grow lights and a terragarden, my plants flourish in my dark home, the terrapkanter is fantastic for starting the veggies for my garden.
Until now I've had no problem, but one of my grow lights stopped working, so I messaged Gathera to either get a replacement or exchange, Tamara was so very helpful responding to my emails within hours, and she gave me hints to troubleshoot my lights, and that fixed them, it's taken me too long to put this review up, the company had a different name when I bought my first one!!!
Brilliant products, brilliant company, if you have ANY issues message Tamara she's FAB!!!
