Beautifully made gates by Dan. delivered exactly as expected. Tony and Simon from the delivery team were fantastic, very friendly and careful with the gates. Would completely recommend.

Having a new drive built in required new gates. This site looked professional and UK based. Ordering was very simple with a comprehensive array of gates and accessories to choose from. Ordered everything I needed and a prompt reply arrived stating order had been received.
After a couple weeks I called to find out an eta. My call was handled efficiently and was given a production date and that a delivery date would follow upon completion. I was called and told my delivery would be 4 days later with a time slot. Driver called 20 mins out.
All in all a very superior service. Nice touch was a bag of fudge with the names of the guys who made my products (Dan & Reece) and the delivery guys ( Simon & Paul).
Would highly recommend this company.

I have yet to fit the gates but from ordering through to delivery and the quality of the two gates, I could not be more pleased.

Ordering was made easy on the phone, the gates look solid and very well made, finished to a high standard and they were ahead of schedule. The two guys, Paul and Simon who delivered them, could not have been bettered

Our gates were made by Dan and Ian and they are really well made and very beautiful. We have yet to have them fitted as they only arrived today but we are very excited as they will really look lovely.

The delivery drivers were Barry and Ian and they were very polite and helpful when I asked them to place the items at the side of the house. They called me to say when they would arrive and were very prompt.

Great service from Gates & Fences, after ordering I wanted to amend my order which was done easily and efficiently. Deliver by Ben and Gary was fantastic, rand 30 mins before arrival and on arrival moved the gates to where I required them. Excellent !!

Gates were well made, by Dan, and delivered within 5 weeks by Simon and Paul.
DIY installation was fairly straightforward, just a few additional holes to drill and paint.

Magnificent quality hardwood gates, made to measure, hand-built by Jimmy and delivered with care and attention by Paul and Barry. Can’t wait to instal them when they will look great and really enhance the look of my property.

I’ve just received my new gates, they are very well made, corners protected for transportation.
Paul and Barry delivered them, they rang to let me know they would be 30 minutes away, sure enough they arrived on time, placed them where I wanted them, laid foam down to keep the post off the ground.
All in all delighted with the product and the polite delivery guys. Thanks Gates and Fences, will recommend you.

We had to replace our 9 year old softwood gates from ‘another Devon supplier’ and decided to have hardwood gates from Gates & Fences. They were slightly cheaper than our previous supplier for an identical specification and, at £2k, it was noticeable. Their web site is super easy to use but despite that I missed off an option to have the gates oiled in production rather than us having to do it in arrival. A simple phone call got a super efficient and friendly response from Kerstin, who quickly found and amended our order - no drama! The gates were delivered well inside their anticipated delivery forecast by Ben and Simon - two super friendly and helpful people, who carried the gates in and put them just where I wanted them. They look superb - and we even know who made these gates! A complimentary packet of Devon fudge gave us the joiners’ names and our delivery team names. Customer service that others could follow…The gates look beautiful and will soon replace our tired and rotting softwood gates. We can’t wait!

As mentioned, in other reviews, the pre-sales and delivery process was very good. Unfortunately despite being rubbed down and re painted twice, as advised, we noticed that one of the gates began to warp to the point where we could no longer use the drop bolts.
When I called Gates and Fences I was told that warping was not unusual and might occur in wet and windy locations. I live in England! They also said that this was mentioned on their website. I checked and found the following "Being a natural product (and even more so if not correctly maintained) the timber can swell and shrink during the seasons. This is taken into account during the manufacture process and hidden gaps are within the gate to allow for the movement." No mention of permanent warping!
They told me that there was no chance of getting replacement gates or a refund.
I would definately think twice before using this company. Great pre sales but then you are on your own.

The guys who delivered the gates Ben and his mate (sorry can’t rember his name) were very polite and helpfull. Welcome here any time. Loved the fudge, nice touch!

In all honesty, I can’t give a full ore view yet because we’ve only received delivery. The fare won’t be fitted until another two weeks time. However, I have to say that Paul and Simon, Paul in particular, were excellent on their delivery skills. The gate looks amazing, but will reserve a further review once we have fitted it

Nervously I placed an order for a set of driveway gates having had no previous experience with Gates and Fences…. No need to worry .. how refreshing to deal with nice people who take a pride in their work and really care.
The communication during manufacturing was good, the gates arrived as planned, were expertly delivered and the quality of the product is top class.
