We received a call from Barry/Gary the delivery guys when they were 30 mins away. They turned up on time, and asked where I would like the items placed, I said place them on the ground they said that the items would be better standing up as laying down would damage the paintwork, I agreed. Both Barry and Gary know there job well and clearly didn’t want to damage the items, they were quick careful and very efficient.

The website made the selection of the type and style of gate I needed and then guided through measuring the necessary dimensions
The ordering, manufacture (easily incorporating a late change from me!) and delivery was very smooth with good communications throughout.
I waited until I have completed the installation of the gates before writing this review to allow any latent problems to become apparent.there were none.
The quality of the gates, squareness, flatness, accuracy of dimensions and finish are all excellent.
I can’t reference the actual people who were involved in the whole process as their names were smudged on the trust pilot card but I was impressed with everyone.

Quality and appearance was as I hoped
Quality and appearance was as I hoped, so v happy with the gates now installed. Service was ok - but see below - and delivery guys Tony & Jordan delivered on time.
However, the lead time I was given on ordering was misleading. When a client asks for lead time they mean when will the item be dispatched or delivered. But to G&F UK it's the date they finish making and send to be painted. So need to add 2-3 weeks. This was not made clear and caused me scheduling problems for the fitting. No apology given when i pointed this out.
Would have been a 5 otherwise.

Great quality build but be cautious
The build of the gate I ordered was excellent. No complaints.
Important to understand that they only manufacture the gate and didn’t really make it clear to me that they do not install. They have contacts but I know a local person who installed it.
Be careful as they will ask you to confirm the measurements after they have sent someone to verify. This is to cover themselves.

Beautiful gate, easy purchase, careful delivery
The website was easy to navigate, giving excellent advice on measuring and fitting.
"Extras" such as posts, hinges, hardware etc, were easily available too through the website.
There is a huge range of gates for all situations and locations, with bifold and trifold options available too in hardwood or softwood, with oil or colour treatments and personalisation too at an additional price.
We were kept informed when the gate was completed and again when it was ready for delivery. We were informed of the delivery day and on the delivery day.
When the gate arrived, it is as beautiful as it looked online, Thank you Gareth.
Delivery was undertaken by Gary and Simon, who were careful and respectful of our property.
We were also delighted by the small Christmas gift too!
Can't wait to install it!

Had some new gates made with locks…
Had some new gates made with locks fitted very well however lock failed after a few months customer service was extremely helpful and replaced lock immediately by overnight courier

We weren't told they won't deliver until they have multiple orders in our area.
We've been drawn into buying a pair of driveway gates by an estimated delivery date of next week. I called a couple of days ago just to check measurements for placement of hinges and was told they were ready for despatch. I called today to be told they wouldn't be delivered next week because there are no deliveries to our area next week. There may also not be a delivery the week after and so on until there are sufficient deliveries to justify delivering to our area.
I was pointed to an extremely woolly part 7.3 of their Terms and Conditions that said nothing about this scenario. I was told they could be sent by DX but "they may arrive damaged" - passing the buck.
Absolute garbage for customer service.

This must have been very frustrating for you and for that we apologise. As a small local manufacturer of 100% British made high-quality goods, we have been working very hard over the past year to build and improve our own UK-wide delivery service. Historically, we have tried to rely on large 3rd party delivery service providers, but unfortunately this all too often led to our goods being handled poorly and arriving at customers damaged and/or even broken. We take tremendous pride in the high-quality of our bespoke hand-made gates and so this was a cause of repeated frustration for us and our customers. And so we much prefer to deliver our gates ourselves. To do this we have, over the past year, purchased our own delivery vans and hired, trained and built a new dispatch team for our company. Poor experiences such as yours demonstrate that we need to do more – and with our limited resources we are absolutely trying our best to do so.
Once again our sincere apologies for the delay in the delivery of your gate. We are working hard to resolve this and hope that once received, the gate will bring great satisfaction for many years to come. And that you will ultimately be glad that you chose us for this.

My review should be 4.9 as the only fault was on the top rail this had a roughed surface which I needed to sand down to prevent water sitting. Apart from that Dan & Ian made a great job of these gates, thanks! These replaced gates I had purchased 13 years ago from Gates & Fences Uk ( in hard wood this time ) in the hope they last longer. However having researched the market I was and am very pleased with the product together with service from all the staff I have dealt with. Thanks also to Tony & Gary for the prompt and careful delivery.

Excellent craftmanship. Lovely gates.
I am delighted with the quality and the look of my gates. They are well worth the money.
The delivery drivers Barry and Simon were extremely friendly and left the gates in the location of my garden which best suited me.
The only downside was
lack of communication from the company. I was not contacted about the progress of my order. I had to phone twice to chase it up.
I also received no confirmation of delivery date or time .
