Force Majeure ( Buyer Beware ) My ex Wife 86 years old had a Greenstar Boiler supplied and installed by this company the system has never worked properly since it was installed I have sent numerous emails and phoned Seven Times to request a visit to correct this but every time have been told by the Receptionist Kyla that she would have to speak to her Manager, they have only responded by a pre recorded email message but nothing has ever been done, we were told that Gas Assist are no longer installing heating systems only servicing according to the Receptionist and we could not get any assistance as every time she said the Manager was never available to discuss this problem. When the Gas Assist Engineer initially fitted the boiler he also removed the Battery from the Smoke Detector and left the unit hanging from the ceiling ??
We contacted Worchester Bosch Service Manager and was told that the Thermostat that this company had fitted was not one that they use and was probably the cause of the boiler faults, to date we have not received any assistance from this company and have now contacted a reputable Local Worchester Bosch Appointed Company to put right the faults with the boiler installation, Do not use Gas Assist if you require any assistance they are not interested,
I would have given this Company Zero Stars if at all possible.

Had an issue with my grandparents who have dementia being charged for cover they didn't need.
The company responded to our email promptly, and after looking into it, issued a full refund.
While I would prefer this situation not happen in the first place, the company was fair and fast in dealing with the issue.
Useless after sales service
We had our gas boiler installed by them last year but their after sales service is absolutely useless. Contacted them 3 times about arranging an annual service but we heard nothing back! Perhaps they lack confidence in their installations
Vulnerable customer let down
My mum was cold called and sold a policy despite her having a British Gas cover in place. She has dementia and this should have been obvious on the call. I have just found this direct debit and have cancelled it.
Poor Customer Service
My mum took out this cover 2.5 years ago when she had the onset of dementia. She already had cover with Scottish Gas. How she was contacted I do not know as now she cannot remember. They have had 2.5 years of money and have never been near my mums boiler as their policy is the onus is on the customer to phone and arrange. It was only recently when I became her POA did I realise she was paying for a boiler service with two companies. I contacted Gas Assist in early January to cancel the policy and await my refund. I have been constantly calling them as the refund never materialised. I was fobbed off with so many excuses. I phoned again today to be told by an employee that she had emailed the Director last week about my case but he had not got back to her. I emailed him myself today and within 20mins the refund was in my account.
I cannot comment on their work but their customer service is terrible.
The 1 star review was based on the time it took to get a refund of £80. My initial contact was on the 5.1.24 and only after 6 emails and 3 phone calls, the last email being on 5.4.24 to the director did I get my refund.

Disgusting Company
My mum was cold called she has dementia and vulnerable. Boiler cover taken out but was not needed as was under 12 months ago. No paperwork received only aware when I checked her statement.
I contacted customer service for a full refund advised only entitled to partial refund as past 14 days cancellation policy.
Explained regards my mums dementia and that she is on the PTS system so she shouldn’t be called. Informed cold calling not illegal , paperwork posted and took no responsibility not received that’s the post.
2 emails sent 1 replied standard reply saying sorry not happy with service partial refund that’s it.
Cold calling prays on the vulnerable!!!

I have read your reply and this may not be my experience but I represent my mum who has demand is unable to reply herself.
I have no customer reference number as still no paperwork received.
Cold calling you did do as your customer service adviser told me it’s not illegal. You pray on the vulnerable even when things are put in place to try and stop you.
I continue to say you are a terrible company with no compassion.

Trying to contact them, emails being returned undelivered, phone number is a mobile answer phone. Paying £16 per month £192 per year . Think I’m going to try & get my service done then cancel the plan. Might aswell just get a local gas fitter to do a service without all the hassle

Disappointing behaviour
I am a retired school teacher, and had a period of poor health a couple of months ago.
I think that in that period, Gas Assist must have cold-called me and persuaded me to take up boiler cover with them.
This makes no sense to me now, as I have had the same person look after my boiler for many years.
It wasn't until I was looking over my bank statement with my nephew that I spotted a direct debit with Gas Assist.
My nephew called Gas Assist on 9 Jan, and they cancelled the direct debit and gave a partial refund. He also posted a negative review on trustpilot to say that Gas Assist should not be cold-calling elderly people and getting them to sign up to cover they don't need.
Unfortunately (and quite dishonestly in my opinion), Gas Assist flagged this review as "not a genuine experience" with trustpilot, and it seems that trustpilot have indeed removed the review.
I am therefore posting my own negative review. If Gas Assist have to cold-call people (I don't think a good company should really need to do this), they should use more judgement if it is obvious the person is more elderly. They should immediately give a full refund if they are told the cover was taken out in error. They should not be so dishonest as to get negative reviews removed that they know are genuine.
