I didn’t have an option to rate it less…

I didn’t have an option to rate it less unfortunately.
I had a genuine claim when on 14th November, three weeks prior to flying to USA I had the misfortune to fall from a ladder shattering my calcaneous (heel bone). My hospital doctors advised against flying due to the immediate risk of DVT.
I claimed on All Clear Insurance and when my wife returned from the visit I missed out on. This was 11 January when I provided every detail including hospital reports, invoices etc.
All Clear passed the claim to Gallagher Bassett and after many non responses to emails and phone calls, requests for more information etc (there was nothing more to give them) I am still waiting for settlement of my claim. The time of writing is 23rd April (5.5 months).

Disappointing communications

Disappointing to have had recent dealings with Senior Case Manager Ella A. Contradictory and difficult to deal with. Her alleged "busyness" has seen her get her facts wrong (proven) however there has been no self awareness and she has taken no accountability.

Ref: impossible document request!

Ref: GLUK/573393

My flight AF1069 to Marrakesh on January 10th 2025 was cancelled due to heavy snow fall that day and when we managed to leave on the following day after several delays we arrived late in Paris and couldn’t catch the next flight and had to sleepover in there again. When I got back a week later, I contacted Avanti to make a claim with the letter Air France has sent us as proof of cancellation.
My claim was handled by Gallagher Bassett company who refused Air France letter stating that they cannot accept their wording of operational issues , air traffic control issue created by the snowfall occurred.
I contacted Air France to explain them that my insurance company needs them to clarify their wording. Air France said that letter should be sufficient as other people have claimed with the same letter as they’ve never had any passengers of the same flight as mine asking them for a personally written letter. I was so frustrated that I got depressed after five months of back and forth conversation with Air France and Gallagher Bassett.
My daughter was going to Paris and she told me that she’ll enquiry at the Af office about the letter on my behalf which she did and the AF Officer told her that it’s the duty of the insurance company itself to officially request a detailed letter from them not the passenger.
I reported that back to the claim handler
They told me that they don’t that. This situation grew to so much frustrations that I fell into depression because the whole situation really worn me out mentally!
One the passenger I travelled with (who received his compensation) advised me to leave a review as that will prompt them to listen to me. But I was too hurt and depressed at that time and each time I decided to write I would feel the frustration taking over me and the anxiety of reading a negative reply were making me feel sick to the stomach! Writing this today is like digging out the denim again!
I feel that they have deliberately asked me for an impossible document on purpose so that no payout is made!

Gold Standard for Terrible or Non-existent Customer Service

It's hard to know what went wrong with this company. They reach out to you to gather all the information to support your claim, and you literally never hear from them again. Zero feedback, updates or communication. Nothing. Unbelievable and worst ever customer experience across all industries. Total waste of effort. The minute you hear that your claim is being managed/processed by Gallagher Bassett you might as well not bother. Save yourself time, energy and the frustration.
