(Tunbridge Wells) Food and drink were fine (as usual at a Gail’s) but although the café was quiet the unoccupied tables (and in one case the benches) were covered in crumbs/sticky mess/spilt liqui... See more

I am staying in Witney for work reasons ans stumbled across Gail’s
I have never heard of them before , and what a revelation!!!!
Every day I somehow find myself there in front of the counter , choosing breakfast , dinner and evening meals
I am only here for five weeks and am already thinking how i am going to miss it
The staff are amazing , really nice and chatty and happy to help
All in all have had the best service and great food
GAILS Bakery Wanstead what a total unclean seating area not clean bits of crumbs on seating and tables no where to sit at busy time had to climb 3 lots of stairs only to be told this area is close no sign at foot of stairs to say it was closing or closed just not good enough tea was OK though.
Love the vibe of this cafe, bright spacious and unbeatable location. This is now my favourite hangout on Sunday morning with my dog. The service provided Tuyen was amazing!
What's happened to Gails Ciabatta ??!!! New one is heavy and hard. Just terrible. Very dissatisfied!
Visited today , 4th April ( Bank Holiday ) about 2pm. The shop was not busy when we arrived. Sat outside , tables were dirty, the customers whom sat at the adjoining table asked a member of staff to clean their table, one would assume this was an opportujity to clean the remaining 3 empty & dirty tables .
This was not the case. Nor was there any offer to wipe the table we were seated at. My wife then decided to have a second coffee.
When I walked back in the shop there was a family of 4, 2 adults & 2 minors at the cake display in conversation with a member of staff.
I approached the counter where another member of staff was standing ( not serving, not carrying out any task )
The young lady ignored me, mumbled some words to her coleague and walked away from the serving area.
Her colleague whom had by now served the family with their cakes and one assumes was about to get their drinks stopped in front of me and ( I kid you not ) asked me " are you looking for something "
I asked for a coffee and she informed me I should be behind the 4 / 5 people whom had now arrived in the shop .
The first guy standing there even stated I was waiting at the counter when he entered the premises.
The young lady was not remotely interested.
If as a company Gail's feel employing young people with limited ability to speak English is the way forward , Good Luck with that.
I have visited Gail's in London many times.
Branches that are very busy for long periods of times on a daily basis.
The staff are courteous, efficient and helpful.
The two young ladies working in Horsham at 2pm today were unfriendly, rude and contributed to one of the worst customer service experiences I ever experienced anywhere in Horsham.
Best service ever in the Bracknell store. The server was so polite and sweet.
Gail’s in East Dulwich…. So moody?!
Such a bad energy in there. Lighten up!
Summertown Gail’s in Oxford is great. Go there most weekends to buy croissants from our favourite waitress Hong (Serial Chiller)!!😉
This review is for Gail’s bakery in Bath. The waitstaff was rude and racist. The drink mocha was served with spoilt milk and no chocolate. The food served was incomplete and missing components specified in The description. (Avocado on sourdough toast was missing coriander and cress salad). The food is underwhelming compared to other Gail’s(Oxford or London)
What is wrong with the world? I rated 2 because it’s edible. But £4.20 for an almond croissant how is that acceptable? Well it would be if it tasted out of this world but it does not. At all.
And then today I thought I’d also try their madeleines. They were barely risen and dense. And where was the lemon zest flavour included in the £1.40?
We are being screwed.
Had walked past earlier and it looked busy and popular so decided to stop for a cuppa a bit later.
Wish I hadn't bothered and had walked to one down the road.
Staff seem totally indifferent, tables not cleared plus very noisy.
My lemon and ginger tea was lukewarm and insipid.
VERY DISAPPOINTING
They always cancel the order last minute. Very disappointed
90 % of the time, they cancel the order
I’ve been a loyal customer of Gail’s for many years but from this day forward I will stop buying my bakery from there. The customer service is shocking & it puts me off going into their shops. Today was the final straw after being ignored twice & two other customers being served before me, I was then asked to move out of the way!
I gave 2 stars as I do like their bread offering!
📍 Gail’s Spitalfields
Their shop/bakery in Soho has a nice view from the outside, but once you step inside, it is completely the opposite (the atmosphere). I took my mother and a friend who came to visit London for the day yesterday, and we spent around £20 to £25 there because I wanted them to have a lovely time in London. Unfortunately, the staff were very unpleasant, and the food wasn’t the best either.
The coffee was so hot that it took my mother 45 minutes to finish it. You could tell the barista did that on purpose, as he seemed unhappy to be working there, judging by his unfriendly expression. I wish I could get my money back, or at least be invited back for a better experience.
Quite disappointing!
Over rated Over priced and no customer service skills. Awful coffee. Never going back.
Absolutely amazing staff so very welcoming and friendly great atmosphere and the food is delicious
South Woodford. Expensive, pretentious, uncomfortable chairs, heating cranked up far too high - and they won't accept cash. Avoid.
A Shop that Refuses Legal Tender. Once legal tender is refused, I refuse to ever enter any of their venues again. Simple as that. Scruffy, dirty and a place to avoid.
