Stay away from the Treacle and Ginger cake…

I have always had a pleasant experience in Gail’s Henley and the bread and pastries are always good. I decided to buy the Treacle and Ginger loaf cake. Possibly one of the worst cakes I have ever had. Very large pieces of fibrous ginger made the cake inedible, one bite and the rest ended up in the food bin, not what you want when you spend £12.50, if they had used stem ginger it may have been good, but God it was awful. Please stay away from this concoction it is truly awful.

DISAPOINTED No CASH Accepted!

I regularly shop in Gails Bakery in Henley on Thames as I work in the town, I've always found the staff helpful and friendly and the food amazing. This morning I went to pay but by cash, to my surprise they do not accept cash!! Cash is a legal tender and it should be my right as a customer to have the choice to pay with whatever legal tender I wish............Extremely disappointed in the stance with Gails, you have now lost a valued customer due to your blinkered views on accepting legal cash tender!!

Hello Debbie, thank you for your feedback. Our decision to go cashless was made
to streamline our operations and enhance safety for both customers and team.
It's also in line with our sustainability efforts, as we no longer have to
transport cash (by car) from our 130+ locations. We appreciate the inconvenience
and hope you can understand we are doing this for what we believe are the right
reasons. If you would like to discuss this further, please get in touch with our
central Customer Experience team via Get in Touch | GAIL's Bakery (gails.com)
