Lovely Bakery to visit

I’ve visited many places in Brighton as I enjoy takeaway food and eating outside, but I wanted to share my experience at Gales Bakery in Brighton. The food was absolutely delicious, and the overall atmosphere was very welcoming.
Tommy, Andrew, Attila, and the rest of the team are consistently friendly and helpful, always greeting customers with a smile and Their positive attitude really stands out .It’s a lovely place with excellent service, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

No disability friendly not accepting cash.

We Placed an order and then told that they don’t accept cash. My son who is disabled cannot use payment cards due to his disability’s understanding contactless and unable to read the amount charged. He can only use cash. He wanted to treat me to afternoon tea. We ended up going to Costa’s.

Hello there, thank you for reviewing our bakery. Our decision to go cashless was made to streamline our operations and enhance safety for both customers and team. It's also in line with our sustainability efforts, as we no longer have to transport cash (by car) from our 100+ locations. We appreciate the inconvenience and hope you can understand we are doing this for what we believe are the right reasons. If you would like to discuss this further, please get in touch with our central Customer Experience team via gails.com/pages/contact quoting this review.

I don’t mind expensive if it’s value.

I don’t mind expensive if you are getting value for money.
When you have multiple staff behind the counter twiddling their thumbs but are unable to deliver a £4 plus coffee to the table but rather insist the customer waits for it at the end of the counter while their table gets taken by someone else is bad service.
When I politely expressed my dismay with this situation with the bloke taking my order I was met with laughter so I cancelled and took my business to one of the many other coffee options in Seven Dials.

Liars who exploit their employees

Worked here for 6 months when I moved to Brighton and Hove.

I was immediately demoted from Barista to a Team Member within 2 weeks, due to there being 'too many baristas'. I was told this was my only option other than being fired. This took my hourly wage from 11 to 10 an hour which was very disheartening. I was then told to move to a different Gail's location for '6 weeks' (ended up being 6 months) as they didn't have enough staff in that particular branch, no explanation or communication as to when I was going back to the original Gail's that I applied to, which I only applied for because it was around the corner from my house, meaning I now have to travel 45 minutes to work instead of 10. After months of being asked to make coffees all day for customers because we were always busy while also doing the Team Member jobs, I asked my manager to be recommended for a promotion back to my starting hourly wage, as I was doing all the work that a barista does and more. After I was told no, I put my notice in.

Be very careful with exploitive places such as Gail's.

Is part of the recruitment process that you have to be rude, unfriendly and arrogant? So many people would kill for a job in this day and age and you employ people like this. ( Gails Brighton and Seven Dials )
