Having to pay for something that you have already bought because the company went bankrupt. Is the definition of blackmail I already bought the item. It's practices like this that makes more people pirate. Because if buying isn't owning then pirating isn't illegal. Sending out a software update to brick my device that I've already paid for to lock me into a service that I would never agreed to. This will be fine if they say hey. If you don't want the service we will offer you a full refund, but that was not the case. I hope you guys go bankrupt.

Awful, they're now forcing subscriptions on their users that had originally owned their devices outright.

Pretty sure this is fraud and likely breaking US law. Buy Google or other IoT, DO NOT BUY their products. Shady business doing shady things.

They made my device that I payed for stop working unless I buy a subscription. That is blackmail!

This company sold a device without subscription and then changed the rules and now demands a subscription. If you want to change to another controller unit from another brand they have locked the Futurehome unit so you can not exclude your Z-Wave devices. I think this is criminal and i will move forward with this.
To get in touch with support is impossible. Tried for hours..

This company can rot! Changing to a subscription service after purchasing should be criminal!!!!

You own a product until they decide you don't unless you subscribe to a plan.
Then they proceed to brick the device you bought.
Shit company.

This greedy SCAMMING company will brick you product when they want more money, unless you suddenly start to pay them monthly for what they "sold" you. In short: whatever you buy, they may/will steal back, or change the terms of service so that it is useless unless you pay more.
They successfully generated tons of e-waste this way.
