Received a call from one of the call centre representative not sure how they got my number, Asked the representative how they received my number (No answer).

Sam (Sales Representative) asked me for vital information even before offering me the Gas and Electrics service (Bank and address details).

I was able to get a offer from them after speaking to the guys for 30 minutes but to be honest I do not trust them with my data.

I registered for the energy transfer for British gas four days ago, but have not received any confirmation email from freepricecompare. Also, I called customer service with my reference number, but the customer agent named Eric, was not able to perform search with my name / reference number. He promised to call me back, which he never did. I will better use other swtich sites.

Update: I do apologise, I did not purchase Home Insurance, it was Home Energy.

I bought home insurance through Free Price Compare purely on the cashback being promised through Top Cashback making the price a good one when compared to other insurers. I never thought that after 33 months of waiting for my £36.07 and two chasers with Top Cashback that my claim would be turned down. UNACCEPTABLE. I went through all the right procedures when buying the insurance but now just feel totally ripped off, drawn in by the promise of cashback and then being let down. The amount of money doesn't really matter any more, I feel I have to provide this negative feedback to stop others losing out.

I would have no reservation in recommending this company. I was very impressed with the service offered and the knowledge of the products in question.

Update. After my previous review, Free Price Compare had it sorted within 48 hours and I now have my cashback. Thank you.

Used Free Price Compare via top cash back in March 2018 to change my energy package, despite twice contacting top cashback, as of today’s date 9th April 2019 cashback has not been confirmed. Have just changed my energy package again and needless to say I did not use Free Price Compare!

Moved from First Utility to Eon last May. Deal was done on 12 April via Top Cashback but still waiting for my “cashback”. Will be switching again soon but reluctant to use Free Price Compare.

Did what it said it would, very satisfactory service.

I used freepricecompare to help my 85 year old mother-in-law to get a better deal. With the added reward of cash back of £40 would be helpful to an old age pensioner. After phoning them so many times with promise of agreeing saying yes you are entitled to the reward it shows on their records. They made a payment of £25, not happy with this I have called and emailed. They will not respond. They are disgusting in how they deal with customers and to steal £15 from an old age pensioner shows how low they will go.

My advice is to use any other price comparison web site, so as not to be denied what you are expecting as a cash back reward.
On the phone they talk nice and and are nice but they say talk is cheap and so are they!

I signed up using a Yahoo email account and immediately got an alert from Yahoo about an attempted log-in to my email account. This suggests an attempt to access my personal account by an automated system, which is extremely disturbing behaviour. They also then tried to ring me the following day, which I had not agreed to, but they were cut off and I then blocked the number. I submitted a GDPR subject access request by email but received no reply. If this is not received by next Thursday, they will be in breach of the ICO rules. Now they are pretending this review does not contain information about my experience with them, to censor negative criticism on TrustPilot.
