Do not use this service
Do not use this service. My account has been deactivated for YEARS.. and they still try to charge me. Everytime we see a charge from them I have to fight to get my money back, and it never seems to get out back on my account. I have written the better business bureau, and my next step is a lawyer...

I enjoy it
I enjoy it. But I do wish the free tier had a little bit more data. Maybe 500mb....But it's still pretty great for the value. If you consume a lot of data, this may not be the network for you.

I love the service that I am receiving so far! You can not beat the free service! Nobody else on the market is offering a better deal! I am no disappointed and I’m sure you won’t be neither.
Freedompop bad company
This company still your many. No acces to costumer service. I contact them 3 times, they promised me to call back. Nothing. The still take money from my account. I decide to close my current bank account, and open another one, because nobody helped me.

Great Option
The cost and practicality of the Freedom Pop SIM card was the reason we purchased it and have already refilled it. Works great, and is plenty of data for the camera's functionality. This is the most cost effective way to power devices that only need the data option.
Scam! Beware
BEWARE! IF YOU BUY INTO THEIR SCAM, WATCH YOUR CREDIT CARD BILLING FOREVER. I purchased a “prepaid” plan at Target (1Gb data/month, unlimited talk & text) in November 2018. Upon activation, I accepted a free 30-day upgrade trial with the assurance I would be able to cancel the free upgrade and return to my plan without penalty. Before the free upgrade trial was up, I tried to cancel the upgrade, but there was no option to go back to my prepaid plan in their drop down menu (only the free plan with less service than I paid for). Since you cannot talk to a real person after signing up without paying extra, I submitted an online request to cancel the upgrade trial and return to my prepaid plan. I got this response: “By now you have assigned the plan $0.00 due every 6 months and you also have active the subscription FreedomPop Phone Premier Semi-Annual for $ 26.94 monthly, plus taxes: $ 3.21. Due to our policy once the renewal charge was applied to your account we won't be able to process the refund.”
My credit card was charged for the upgraded service. I submitted multiple complaints asking for a refund. Nothing. I complained to the BBB. They didn’t help. I finally called my credit card company and had them reverse the charges and block FP from trying to make those charges again. FreedomPop then INACTIVATED MY ACCOUNT because going to the credit card company “violates their terms of service”. FP refused to refund my prepaid amount or fulfill their 1-year service obligation I had already paid for through Target. No phone service. Money lost. Lesson learned.
NOW OVER A YEAR LATER (1/31/20) THEY CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD $53.10 !!!

We only use it for emergencies
We only use it for emergencies, and the free service is perfect. I'm not techy but your support team helped me correct my mistakes. It may seem to good to be true, but try it you will like it.

You cannot make phone calls unless you download their app on your phone. The app is so buggy, the calls drop often! I was just trying to save some money and this headache was totally not worth saving a few bucks. They have absolutely no customer service you can call! its all through email which takes 3-5 days to reply. Tried to port out, holy moly! More headaches!

So far it seems to be going well
So far it seems to be going well. Though one day I used 92% of my data without even knowing I was. That was alarming!
That hasn’t happened since and we are enjoying the service.
Getting a hold of a person can be challenging. but we haven’t needed someone since we got up and running.
The service is good for the cost
The service is good for the cost. Calling outwards is good, incoming calls are buggy, and can miss without giving missed call notifications. If cost is important to you, it's worth it.

I have found i have data coverage most every where i go. I have had trouble with the talk. I am unable to make calls frequently. I have to sync data for it to work, Sometimes i have to restart my phone.
Arrogant and rude customer services…
Arrogant and rude customer services from the UK team. Emails from wmyers @ freedompop.co.uk are a real bad example of how not to conduct yourself in business.
Do yourself a favour in the UK and go GiffGaff.

Great Service
Great Service! reasonable pricing and great features all around. So far so good! Hope to experience continued great service under the new ownership.
Easy to set up and pricing is good
Account was easy to setup and the cellular service is very good so far. The pricing for the FreedomPop product is reasonable. Overall I am having a positive experience with the FreedomPop service.
FREE is NOT FREE!!!
FREE is NOT FREE!!!
You will be charged $20 a month top off fee and they want to charge you $6.95 a month not to be charged the $20 top off fee. There is no way to just cancel or turn off the auto top off unless you pay the $6.95
WHAT A SCAM!!

Good service
I have no problems using FreedomPop and the data is fast can also stream. Call quality is good and texting with pictures works good.
Perfect first cell phone
FreedomPop is a great service for introducing kids to their first cell phones. You can start with a free or inexpensive plan, then ramp us as budget or need allows. It requires a bit of perseverence, the app takes some getting used to
Bought this SIM for my husband
Bought this SIM for my husband. He mostly uses his phone at home on Wi-Fi. That's why I wanted a really inexpensive plan.
I was paying an extra fee to prevent…
I was paying an extra fee to prevent freedompop from automatically charging this top up charge to my account, My account was paid up until February 21, 2020. They had already charged a top up fee when I initially set up my account which they disclosed upfront when I opened my account. In December 2019 I downgraded to the free plan but still paid the extra fee, which came out to about $9.00 for 6 months, to prevent the free plan from automatically charging the top up charge for the next 6 months which was suppose to start on February 21, 2020. Despite this they charged a second top up charge to my account even though I was paying to prevent them from doing this, Also, I never went over any limits because I had the unlimited talk/text/data plan which means they never had to use any money in the first top up charged. I had to file a dispute with the credit card company because there is no way to speak to anyone live and when I used the support email to contact them all I get is a generic response which looks like its automatically sent to anyone who contacts them. I also had to close my fredompop account and cancel the credit card they had on file. Now that I have closed my freedompop account I am expecting my top up charges to be refunded to me since they were never used but based on some of the reviews I see online It don't appear like they will do that and it is no way to reach them live. I will also be contacting the better business bureau if I don't get any satisfaction from the credit card company. Anyone using freedompop I suggest you use a prepaid debit card and only leave $1 on the card since they temporally charge a dollar to your account every month to prevent you from using a card that you can lock and unlock, I gave them a one star rating because they wont let you post a review with zero stars.
