First time using, time will tell

Very disappointing experience with FREENOW.

I strongly believe I was overcharged because I was a tourist. The amount charged was approximately double the fare shown on the taxi meter, which is simply unacceptable. When I noticed the issue, I raised it with FREENOW customer support and expected a thorough investigation and fair resolution.

Unfortunately, the support process was slow, took a long time to receive a response, and ultimately failed to address my main concern. Instead of properly resolving the matter or providing a refund, I was offered a restricted voucher that was of little practical value and did not compensate for the issue.

What makes this even more frustrating is that I previously had a similar experience with one of FREENOW's competitors. Their customer support responded much faster, investigated the case properly, and provided a far more reasonable and customer-focused resolution. The difference in service quality was significant.

Customers expect transparency, fairness, and accountability when something goes wrong. In my case, I experienced none of these. Based on my experience, FREENOW's complaint handling and customer service fall well below expectations.

I will think twice before using FREENOW again and cannot recommend the service based on this experience.

Their service is satisfactory, quick to respond and at your door at exactly the time of booking.

Drivers are overcharging via the app. I contacted customer services to have the overcharge refunded but they haven’t got back to me.
I have found it better to pay the driver direct but you need to double check what they put into their machine. I have had drivers who add a few euros to cover bank charges.

Another 2 weeks have passed and I'm still waiting to hear from someone via the Chat about over charging me! I was assured on 14Aug that someone would get back to me. It's now 30th and I'm still waiting for some decent customer service! Appalling. Beware users, and move to Bolt/Uber.

I have been using freenow for years via the app. It's not always been reliable but now they want me to give them my bank card for storage. The option to pay driver directly either with card or cash has disappeared. Is this legal? Can they force us to leave our card details with them.? Also, they take your money before you receive the service so what happens if the driver cancels? How do you get your money back?
It all seems like this company is controlling and bullying 😔

Good very easy

Have used this taxi app whilst in Athens as an alternative to Uber. On all occasions we’ve had to upgrade to priority request to get a taxi to come for us which is always at least 10% more. Plus always allow more time!

It was a great experience and at the same time paranoid. Thanks to KHALID PAYAM, he really deserves recognition in terms of his work. Integrable, Honesty, Friendly etc. I was paranoid coz I forgot my phone inside his cab, but he deliver it to me in exact day even though he’s already in central. I was so dumb and reckless at the same time and it was totally my fault, but KHALID, handled it in a perfect way. I salute this guy seriously. Hopefully he will get more blessings. Thank you so much KHALID!

Good app to use in Europe

Very good app for drivers and riders , definitely recommend !

Most times I go working, it's easy to get started and normally I'm kept busy. I'm happy with Free Now and haven't had many problems over the years working with them. Staff are always obliging and happy to help.

Dimitri was helpful and gave us a pleasant ride to the airport, all in all it was a stress free trip.

It is so easy to use Freenow in Barcelona. I use Lyft in the United States all the time and the app is just same in Barcelona Spain.

I could be more happy using the Freenow app.

Terrible service. Booked a taxi, the driver choses to let someone else take the journey, I panic thinking I'll get charged and then they try and charge me a cancellation fee which I understand initially given I've cancelled it but clearly there is more to this as the driver does not need compensation, he has ditched us.

I try to message on their only option of communication and get no response at all to any of my messages, just an AI chat bot.

I tried to reserve a ride from L'Isle St. Louis but the drivers kept cancelling when I told them that I was using a credit card. I advise you to not bother reserving if you do not have cash!

Used the app 3 times. 1st time - fine. 2nd time, not great. There was an "app glitch" that wouldn't allow the driver to start the ride. He drove out of the way to get to the "entrance to the park" hoping that would "fix" the location problem. It did not. He asked us to cancel the ride for which WE were charged the cancellation fee. Then we got charged more on the actual ride because it was farther than where we initially called him. (Not the driver's fault. He was very nice.) Third time VERY BAD! Because of VERY heavy foot traffic, we were dropped off short of our location. The meter read 20 Euro at the time. Either the driver failed to stop the meter, or the app doesn't allow him to stop it short of the requested destination. We were charged 32 Euro. So, we walked AND got charged more than 50% more than the meter. Because the app had our credit card, there was nothing we could do about either "glitch." It did get us taxis when we needed them, but . . .not a great experience 2 out of 3 tries.

Fraudulent company, I was charged by the app and the driver. I raised 3 support tickets and multiple help requests via the app, all AI, no humans ever responded. It’s now been 2 weeks and no one responded. I will have no choice but to report the transaction as a fraud to get my money back. I also raised a formal complaint and still no response.
