My experience with this recruiter was disappointing from start to finish.

The website does not appear to be properly set up — there was no confirmation of CV submission or application receipt, which is basic practice in any structured recruitment process. The overall approach felt unclear and poorly managed.

Communication was inconsistent. Edel, in particular, came across as dismissive and unprofessional. Shane was pleasant over the phone, however there was no follow-up afterwards.

Recruitment requires structure, transparency, and respect for candidates’ time. It would genuinely benefit this company to undertake general business training on how to manage a recruitment process effectively — and to understand that there are customers on both sides of recruitment, not just the hiring company.

Unfortunately, this experience did not reflect strong professional standards.

I had the pleasure of dealing with Edel in the past. She was fantastic, gave me great advice & was always on the other end of the phone if I needed to speak to her about anything. Highly recommend!

I don't make a point of doing online reviews and am only doing this one on a point of principle.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Edel where she did an excellent job of placing an unlikely candidate who wasn't looking for a job into a role where she had to convince the employers of the merits of the candidate themselves, so, on both sides, an "above and beyond" job.

She has one negative review on this site that the person hasn't put their name to, so, I'm leaving my details here to add credibility to the counter side of the argument.

I had a deeply unprofessional experience with FP&A Senior Finance & Executive Search (fpna.ie).

As a senior executive, I value respectful, efficient communication — especially from recruiters claiming to operate at an executive level. Instead, I received an unscheduled cold call in the middle of a busy workday. The recruiter immediately launched into an aggressive, dismissive tone, repeatedly interrupted me, and seemed irritated from the start.

Despite politely asking to continue the conversation at a scheduled time, she refused to pause, spoke over me, and handled the entire exchange in a way that felt more like an interrogation than a recruitment call. To my shock, she turned out to be a senior executive within the firm.

If this is how they approach senior talent, I can only imagine how they treat others. The interaction was rude, chaotic, and devoid of any professionalism.

Avoid this company at all costs. There are far better, more respectful executive search firms in Ireland. This experience left me with serious concerns about their values, methods, and credibility.
