Unreliable platform, help desk extremely slow or non existent. Clients were constantly having trouble downloading images & I was being charged per image by fotomerchant while having to use a third party program to upload images just so my clients could actually get what they paid for.

I made the mistake of wanting to support an Australian company, in the end it caused me to look unprofessional to clients who couldn’t understand why they couldn’t access their images. Some of these clients included media staff from magazines with plenty of experience dealing with downloading from photographers sites. It was a stressful experience and there was no care from fotomerchants end. Be very careful if you’re dealing with higher volume of images, it may be great for small scale uploads and downloads but anything more and it’s a gamble on your business reputation.

A very efficient commercial back end if you're a professional photographer.
Prices are reasonable and there are plenty of tools to analyze your sales. It's easy to set up password protected galleries with automatic watermarking. There are plenty of options to set up catalogs and products with a usable and intuitive interface.
I've given 4 stars because of the lack of phone support but Fotomerchant tell me it's something they'll address soon. Staff are helpful and respond quickly to requests for help or information. Highly recommended

Being a passionate (amateur) photographer I needed to find a website authoring solution and service provider that allowed me to easily build and manage a cost effective, visually inviting, commerce enabled and photo lab integrated web site. Fotomerchant is all of this and more. The site tools are easy to understand and use. However, and this is far more important, the support provided by the support team, all of the support team, is second to none. I cannot thank all of the support team enough. They exemplify the very best of on-line support practices. As a result I can spend more time making images rather than managing a website. And given personal experience with other website providers and solutions, I can say that Fotomerchant ranks at the top of the list for ease of development, ease of management, the capabilities of the site tools and systems, the uptime and performance experience and the wonderful support. I've been with fotomerchant since before they were fotomerchant.I have since become friends with the team behind this powerful platform. As a professional photographer I first heard about them when I owned an Art Gallery. Back then I knew they were the future and ever since then they have taken something great and have made it even better. They don't rest and they don't stop. As a professional photographer who lives in a fast moving digital world what I look for most is simply something that makes it easy for me to run my business. I closed my actual brick and mortar gallery because I knew Fotomerchant was the future of my business.I travel a lot. I work all over the states so I need a website that compliments my pursuit as a professional Artist. Fotomerchant does that. My website helps me in so many ways. Client viewing,digital downloads, prints, you name it. It's easy to navigate & it has so many amazing options that as a professional I simply love. Lets face it there are so many services and companies out there all trying to tell us that their platform is better then someone else's. I know fotomerchant - like I said I knew them before they were fotomerchant - when they were just a few guys with this amazing idea that they were trying to introduce to the USA & The World for That Matter. This was over 5 years ago.They certainly have grown since then. Trust is important to me & I say with 110% confidence and trust that I highly doubt that the other guys care as much as fotomerchant does. They come out with updates all the time - they are constantly trying to refine their beautiful platform. Because they care. They truly do. I'm proud to be a part of their team. More then proud. I've seen them grow into what they are today and what really excites me is thinking about what they will be tomorrow. The relationship between a professional photographer and his or her website company is more important then people may think. I have their back & I know they have mine. Flat out...there is no better platform then Fotomerchant because they are The Best There Is.

I wanted to be able to build a site that I could build and customise to suit my business needs. Fotomerchant gave me this and opened my eyes to so much more I could do.

I love my clients can order prints from professional labs in Australia straight from the site has changed my business for the better. Having clients be able to do this is something I couldn't offer before from a site. My business has a whole new dynamic with this offering alone. If you want to use your own lab you can also do so. Fotomerchant allows you to build your site to suit your needs.

A real winning point for me was to have an Australian company offering everything I previously could only find on international sites. To find an Australian company that offers everything I had on my wish list and more is fantastic. Being able to contact real people in real time without waiting for international time zones helps me and my clients. Any questions I have are answered so quickly and the patience of the support team with my many queries has been wonderful.

The Fotomerchant team are constantly listening to their clients & ever evolving to build new offerings based on feedback. The team make you feel you are a person and not just a customer.

Would I recommend Fotomerchant? Absolutely!

Since subscribing to Fotomerchant we have been very pleased with the service. Users seem to find it an easy site to navigate and purchase from. Selling photos isn't our core business however the ease of using Fotomerchant has allowed us to create an alternate source of income for a relatively low cost.

I trialed Fotomerchant as they have an Aussie presence which was lacking in the other two hosting providers I have used.
I found Fotomerchant to be a very easy and intuitive interface to use easy and quick to get up and running.
Has some great features and I do prefer the gallery style offerings to my previous site provider.
Reasonably priced and using print partners in Australia is bonus and supports Aussie companys.
Great site, easy to setup and manage, great features, good performance.

For someone who is not tech savvy at all, the team make this experience exciting, fun and extremely easy. I am finally building the website I have always wanted. They are so easy to deal with and super fast at getting back to you on any questions you have.... just great! I love fotomerchant! It makes it so much easier to control my workflow without stress. The site is so easy to navigate and I love the templates and the ability to create my website to suit my clients. When I discovered Fotomerchant, I was not looking for a new website. I had one that I had made myself and that worked just fine! But then I started watching a demonstration of what Fotomerchant could offer me and I was instantly hooked. Fotomerchant has everything I need to make my "fine" website amazing! And they are adding new things to improve it all the time! However, as excited as I was about building my new website, I was worried about how time consuming and difficult it was going to be.....and I couldn't have been more wrong. Fotomerchant has been the platform for ZenWave Gallery since we launched in 2012 (and for a good while before that), and they have supported us right from our initial email exchange.

The product offerings are of the highest quality and the website platform has gone from strength to strength with continuous improvements and feedback sought from customers. I have just switched to Fotomerchant from Wix. The service in comparison is amazing. I have had a few teething problems but lots of people have been at the ready to help.
I do find it a bit difficult sometimes that you must add images to galleries first before you can use them in blogs etc but I think that is mostly just getting into a habit.
I have also been a bit disappointed with my mobile website. I particularly picked a template that was mobile friendly and it has had lots of issues. Again however people have been willing to help and some problems were fixed for me while some are still a work in progress. So far very happy and love the ease at which I can see site statistics.

I was so excited when I met the guys from Fotomerchant at the Baby Summit. Everything that I had been wanting for my clients was all there. They offer everything I need to showcase my work to prospective clients as well as sell to my clients. Hosting my site is also a bonus as I know I can communicate easily with them and they explain everything so I understand. Having a photography background as well as IT enables the staff at Fotomerchant to design elements that they know we will benefit from. My online galleries started life at print on demand sites and when I decided I wanted my own site to build my own brand, I researched a number of photography hosting platforms. They all had one thing in common. They were overseas based and some of them were quite expensive.
Then I found FOTOMERCHANT. Here was an Aussie company born and bred, with a small, dedicated, band of staff, offering direct fulfilment from Aussie printers, with a proven track record.
I signed on in 2014, just at the right time it turns out. I was immediately impressed with the prompt support, with most of my questions answered in hours not days. I was pleased with the simplicity of set up and the clean, functional designs.
This year FOTOMERCHANT launched Version 3 of their platform and took the designs to new levels and mobility. I love the new look to my whole site with the Tokyo template. Those huge background images, my images, just take my breath away.
My site looks so professional and yet personal. I have a great blogging platform that allows me direct links to my images for sale, in each and every post. I have unlimited storage and bandwidth, a virtual cloud backup for my files, and the choice of direct or self fulfilment products. I use both.
I can have unlimited pages and galleries, nest them, hide them, direct link them to other sites. The behind the scenes dashboard is fairly intuitive and easy to use. There are heaps of clear instructional videos and support is a chat away during business hours. I've easily set up my own domain name, Google analytics, Captcha, and Social Integration. Every time I log in, I can see at a glance my visitor stats, where they come from and how they got there.
Even better, the price is comparable and, in most cases, better, than any of the opposition when comparing features. Their strategic partnerships with well known print labs and other suppliers means peace of mind on the quality of the products I offer.
The support from the FOTOMERCHANT team continues to be superior, with prompt responses to my queries and tactful replies when I'm being just a little bit dense.
FOTOMERCHANT is in continual improvement and I'm always excited to see a new blog post from them with their next stage for our growth.

Absolutely, loving fotomerchant. This is my first website and I can't be more happy with how it's all working out. The Themes are so user friendly. Derek and the Team are amazing with helping answer all of my many questions and there has been a lot. Poor Mike Cheng has been back and forth with my questions since day dot and he has been so beautiful with helping me set up and navigate my site when I've had a problem. There are so may tutorials to help you as well and these are great! I LOVE THEM.

I've used a few different online stores for my photos over the years and Fotomerchant is head and shoulders above the rest. The customer service is just amazing - every time I need assistance with the site they are able to talk me through it immediately. I highly recommend using these guys.
