Your website should state on the homepage that fowardvia does not ship lithium batteries.
Got my package delivered to forwardvia only to find out that it can be shipped locally only which cost me a lot of extra money and inconvenience.

Lithium battery bank is not allowed for shipping internationally. Even if it is possible, it would attract a significant shipping charge due to it containing an item classified as Dangerous Goods. Dangerous goods, also known as hazardous materials, are defined as articles or substances that have the potential to pose a hazard to health, safety, property, or the environment. These goods are classified according to the nature of their danger and subject to regulations to ensure safe handling, packing, and transport

Unfortunately, it is not viable to list everything on the homepage. The list of prohibited items is on our website, including a website link on our homepage in the Help section, FAQ, support page, prohibited item page, and on our shipping calculator page, and others. Also, contact us is easily accessible on any pages on our website, where one can ask questions before they proceed to use our service or send us packages.

I hope this information helps explain it, if not feel free to contact us. Our customer service team will get back to you on the same day during our opening time.

ForwardVia is great, but once it leaves them it is a different story.

Very easy to deal with and great customer service. The only time I have had issues is after the product has shipped. The updates/information from the shipping companies (Not ForwardVia) are often lacking to absolutely horrible. Delivery dates are almost always wrong and specific instructions, such as deliver at garage door, are ignored.

My recent experience with ForwardVia…

My recent experience with ForwardVia was terrible. I had three packages sent to them for forwarding to Australia and after ordering and paying for the packages to be consolidated into one, I only received the contents of two. When I asked why my order (and subsequent confirmation email) of 3 packages wasn't fulfilled correctly, I was told a team member made the decision to hold one package because of the overall weight. No consultation with me!....just a secondary charge for the remaining package. If I wanted my third package I had to pay another $400. After asking for compensation for the additional costs, ironically I was also told I haven't incurred additional costs because consolidation doesn't reduce costs. Contrary to what their website promotes......"Consolidation can save you on shipping cost compare to shipping them individually"

Read their T&Cs carefully and get them to confirm your consolidation options before you pay to avoid unexpected additional costs......you won't have a choice once they have your items.

Update:
In reply to ForwardVia's response below... I have sent the order number to confirm. To say you have no record of this encounter is absurd and misleading to all that read this post. Multiple email exchanges don't seem to be enough for you to identify this situation?...maybe that's because there are too many occurrences!

We just checked and can see an oversized package was released from the consolidation order for you to order shipping separately due to it being too heavy/large, which if combined can increase the risk of it getting damaged in transit due to manual handling. Also, combining it would increase the overall shipping cost compared to shipping it separately. A notification email was sent to you when it was released asking you to ship it separately.

You would have to pay the additional shipping charges regardless, which would have been significantly higher if we were to proceed to consolidate it with other packages. This is due to a much larger box is needed to accommodate the oversized package. Therefore, asking you to ship it separately not only reduces the overall shipping costs, it also reduces the risk of it getting damaged in transit.

I hope this information helps going forward and that you will consider using our services again. Feel free to get in touch with our friendly customer service if you encounter any issues using our service.

Exceeded all expectations

I was trying to find a way to send perfume made in the UK to a friend in the EU, and no couriers seemed to offer a service to the public for transporting 'hazardous' goods - at least not at a reasonable cost.

Found this company randomly through internet search, was slightly sceptical (it's my nature) but the reviews seemed positive. Well, I have to say they exceeded all expectations - they were very fast to reply to messages and requests, and once payments were made at the various steps of the journey (one payment to cover re-packaging and courier surcharge, and then a second payment to cover the actual postage cost) they were quick to action them.

My friend received their parcel today and said it was packaged "like Fort Knox", and the bottles inside are safe and sound. Although British people love to moan about how much things cost, considering I didn't have much choice but to use them, Forwardvia's fees were a bargain for what I got and I'm really happy they were able to take care of all the requirements for packaging things up for hazardous transport.

Funnily enough, I did pay £4 extra for photos and extra tape just for a sense of security, but afterwards I found that they'd already uploaded a photo and used plenty of tape. I wasn't even mad, the fact they charged £7.50 to do everything they did, to take all the stress out of it, they deserve the extra £4 as a tip.

I will definitely use them again in the future if I need to send anything 'hazardous' into the EU.

Secure Service!

My materials were carefully packed for safe shipment. Everything about the experience was just first rate. I'm very pleased and particularly delighted to be able to secure British items which were formerly either cost prohibitive or just unavailable in the States.

I recently received my item that I purchased online in the UK and shipped through your company. It was a fragile piece of glassware which arrived in perfect condition. I wanted say what a pleasure it was to use your services and how easy it was to understand and follow the process. This was my first time buying an item that was not available in the US and only sold to the European market. It could not have been easier or more straight forward. Your fees were quite reasonable and the time period from purchase to delivery surprisingly quick considering it started in Denmark, processed in the UK and shipped to the US. I started to use a different drop shipper, but was put off by the intrusive questionnaires and suspicious banking information required to even begin the process. I heartily recommend your company. Thank you!
