Ideal piano course for adults - I appreciate features such as separate hand practice, wait mode and video above sheet music, indicating notes to be played. The range of songs is fab. As an adult who’s... See more

Very cool way to learn the piano
Very cool way to learn the piano, doesn’t get the 5 stars as I couldn’t find quite a few songs that I’m early keen to learn :( but other than that I love it… it would be nice to have the option to hide the piano and hands so it forces you to read the notes without cheating
Needs a larger library of music from all around the world to include video game music and movie music
I like how it provides an easy, intermediate, and advanced tutorial to it's library of songs. How you can slow down the speed to the songs and just practice left or right or both hands at once.
The BAD: limited playlist. I'm disappointed that many newer songs or songs that are from games or movies aren't available. I don't like that even in advance mode, the hand and key guide doesn't show every single note played...in other words, you would need to know how to read sheet music to be able to play the entire peace as it was meant to be because you can't just rely on the video of the hand placement and highlighted key strokes as some pieces purposely omit a note, assuming that you know how to read the music sheet. Thankfully I can read, but it is annoying you even have to notice and accommodate for this. Lastly, even some of their songs that they have, randomly disappear from the library. Ex) I looked up a Happy Birthday song and the one I started practicing couldn't be found again the same day. What gives?

Best piano learning app for technique and basics, as well as for learning songs.
This is my second time with Flowkey …
This is my second time with Flowkey having stopped previously, however having established that my ability to read and transpose the music to my hands left a lot to be desired ,I have started all over again with the courses ,hoping to make improvements.
Excellent for playing your favourite songs
I was able to play my favorite songs on the piano app, even though I can't read music sheets.
Could I please have the following songs:
"Merry Go Round of Life" (from Howl's Moving Castle) by Joe Hisaishi
"Tian Mi Mi" by Teresa Teng
"Kiss the Rain" by Yiruma

Flowkey lets you learn at your own pace and has a large selection of music that you can learn to play. Highly recommended it for beginners and intermediate players.
I am loving flowkey
I am loving flowkey. I have never played piano before and I'm married to a leader in the piano industry who is a proficient pianist and a retired piano teacher. We have a beautiful piano in our house that I have been passing for years. Flowkey has removed the intimidation of the learning curve for me and has quickly gotten me to playing songs with both hands and reading music! My wife has been recommending it to her clients after being so impressed with how efficient Flowkey is helping me learn.

I really love the availability to learn the piano at my own pace. When I have a little time or a lot of time, I use flowkey to guide me. It is set up very user-friendly and has countless songs and teaching levels. It is a fairly easy site to navigate. The only downside I found so far is that it is not comprehensive for learning timing. While it has sections, nothing keeps you accountable, so I'm unsure if I am following correctly or not. I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants to learn the basics of playing and reading music.

I had to switch from to C D E …… it got a bit complicated but I managed to play letters instead of solfège.
I enjoy this app
I enjoy this app and all the flexible ways to practice and learn. Suggestions to help are 1) allow to continue playing a song that I learned in ‘learning mode’ after all the parts are done. Maybe add a last part that is just the music sheet so I can go back and play without having to do any of the ‘learning’ parts. 2) Often I get stuck because it can’t hear all the notes from both hands. Is there a way to let me know what note is unheard or give me a quick tip for landing all the notes better?

High-quality product design, inspiring tutorials, tons of songs
The yearly subscription is pretty expensive but totally worth every cent. The app has superb functionality and aesthetic, easy-to-use GUI with lots of tutorials and even more songs of all genres to practice. With sustained rehearsing and perseverance, the app helped me get from beginner level to amateur intermediate within months—I’m not gonna perform in Carnegie Hall anytime soon, but the intuitive and interactive support the app offers has made me feel competent and turned piano playing into a truly fulfilling and fun experience. I highly recommend this fantastic app to anyone learning to play the piano!
I am enjoying the challenge of learning…
I am enjoying the challenge of learning piano. The instruction is easy to understand. Fingering video is helpful.
I do think that completing an exercise is offered too early. I typically keep repeating lessons and songs until I am really comfortable with advancing. Also, sometimes the app doesn't pick up my notes even though I am playing correctly. It's frustrating when the music freezes and won't advance when I know that I am playing the correct notes.
Overall it's been good for me. But wish I can go back and repeat exercises to perfect my playing.
Flowkey is an amazing app for…
Flowkey is an amazing app for practicing the piano. I've used it for several years and tried many others as well - Flowkey is the one I keep coming back to.
Good song library, and a good, clean UI. Several modes for practicing that are really helpful.
It's not perfect though;
- No metronome/tempo controls - this is a major drawback to not be able to play to a set tempo and hear beats
- Song library feels stale, far between releases of new songs
- Songs tend to pop in and out of the library (licensing issues, I suppose)
- Lessons are very basic - this is not the "tutor" app you're looking for
- Many songs on Intermediate are BOTH easier AND shorter than on Pro. This is a major pain if Pro is to hard - you usually want to play the full piece even if it's arranged in an easier fashion.
Great motivating app
As an adult student I absolutely love Flowkey. It keeps me motivated and happy. It’s great that there are different levels of difficulty for all of the musical pieces. So you don’t feel being left out and can learn on your own at your level. I progressed over the time to intermediate to pro level (or I think I did))).
I like it ok but wished there were newer American songs
I like it ok but wished there were newer age soft songs like soft rock: enja, Celine Dion, country songs & newer Christian Church songs. Its a little boring but its ok to start but eould prefer more American newer songs. I THINK IT WOULD BE NICE FOR FLOWKEY TO GIVE SENIOR DISCOUNTS FOR US OLDER PEOPLE. OUR MEMORY ON PLAYING & REMEMBERING KEYS ONCE WE LEARN THE SONG, ISNT AS GOOD AS IT USE TO BE. I'M NEARLY 60 IN SEPTEMBER.

Great
Great, just wish more modern songs...metal and rock too! Can I request "Edge of the World" by Faith No More?

It's a shame that there aren't enough…
It's a shame that there aren't enough songs by Ludovico Einaudi, for example, or Yann Tiersen, and there are far too few. It would be nice if the repertoire were to expand.
Good but could be much better
Generally, the instruction is good, concepts are clear. When applying them in a song though, there should be an option to start with a slower tempo rather than offering that at the end of the lesson. Also, while learning the song in phrases is good having the ability to drill more difficult passages is better. I'd recommend having an option where only the notation is available on a full screen so you could play it like traditional sheet music.
