Quick to over charge, not quick to refund
Have been with Flow for around 18 months now after purchasing first house - they were the supplier of the previous owners.
Found customer service to be mixed.
Recent service however has been poor.
Points to note -
Did monthly meter readings beginning June.
Was on flexible tariff.
In June, I was checking emails and online portal regularly following meter readings being provided as I knew it was roughly the time my statement was due, and felt we were previously being over charged (£85 in summer months is expensive for a 3 bed house, right?).
No Statement sent either via email, nor available on the Online Portal, so thought I would check each day for statement (usually 7 days before payment due).
Couple of days later I receive an email, a letter AND a text message saying we were in arrears an risked being taken to court if payment is not received in the next 7 days. PANIC! Check Online Portal again, STILL NO STATEMENT, STILL SHOWING £0 OWED.
So, I give them a call, they log in and see that while their records show we have debt, my dashboard is saying £0 and no statement to be seen.
Turns out, they have been hugely over-estimating our usage for months, and I am in credit of over £300 - BUT they weren't going to openly tell me this, I had to call Customer Services to find this out for myself.
Now 6th August, still no refund (full refund requested as we're saving for a wedding), asked for more meter readings to calculate the final balance - not sure why as the credit is up to the meter readings supplied in June (we have since changed our plan to fixed rate and is now in line), which they will not answer.
Long story short, been over charged, they're quick to suggest you owe them money, but if the other way around they do not want to give it back.
Seems good, competitive rates on fixed rates. but will take your money (more than necessary) and don't want to give it back.

It's unusual for companies nowadays to…
It's unusual for companies nowadays to care at all about their customers, however I have found that Kellie at flow energy has the compassion and understanding to give me a feeling that I actually am an individual and that she was listening to any issues that I may have had. Obviously the account had to be settled but flow energy allowed me to sell my late father's house first rather than the usual harassment for payment I have encountered from other companies/ the government, and hence they were the first paid.

In the last month have had to remind Flow about our Fit payment which is late compared with normal and also the amount we were due on the excess in our account. Your operator also had a very difficult Asian accent to understand- I mentioned she needed to speak much more slowly.

Been with Flow for 3 or 4 years now and our bill has only changed twice, once up, once down! We provide a monthly meter reading for gas and electric online.
We get plenty of notice of when a tariffs is about to end so we can seamlessly switch, other providers have been very slightly cheaper but it’s not worth chancing it after bad experiences with ‘big’ suppliers. The online billing and info is clear and easy to understand, best supplier we’ve used!

Not perfect but better than most
Website a bit clunky but i like the way they remind me once a month to read the meters and the price is pretty good too. We've tried several energy suppliers over the years and Flow beat them - they're a solid 8/10 week-in, week-out.

A straightforward business to deal with, helpful staff when needed. Flow Energy has a clear concise web based system for adding gas and electricity usage, seeing you account and and being able to measure usage too.

Been with flow for a few years
Been with flow for a few years, never had any billing issues or problems with direct debits, prices were good. Each month, they email me reminder to send them meter readings and this worked for both myself and Flow. This year decided to switch away as I found a cheaper price with the big 6 who also will fit an energy meter device for free if I want. Flow has been a bit slow on that front but is a smaller company. May switch back to Flow in a year or so if there is a good deal at that time as i also want to support a smaller company if I can.
