This is a review from a FREELANCER and a WARNING to other FREELANCERS NOT TO USE FIVER. Its not worth your time or energy.
1. They hold your earnings for over 2 weeks.
2. When you try to verify your identity to release your earnings their SMS and Call system doesn't even work. You are only allowed 1 attempt per 24 hours!!! Whereas on every other site, they ask you to try again in 15 minutes, 30 minutes or 1hr. This is inhumane keeping hold of your earnings as long as they can and providing zero help at this point.
3. Support is minimal, you have to search their site for ages to try and find out how to send a support ticket, then they won't get back to you for days, sometimes longer and there is no help so in the end you have basically worked for free, fulfilled a job for a client for free and Fiver keep your earnings.
4. When you sign up and join the site as a freelancer you are inundated with hundreds of scammer messages trying to get you to give out your bank details, do not respond to any of them, they are all scammers that are not filtered messages exploiting new freelancers who do not know the site.
5. They take over 25 percent commission on your earnings that they don't even give you anyway. so if your earnings are 130 USD, they take 26 USD you are left with 104, which they also keep because their system doesn't work and there is no one to help. They make sure in everyway possible to exploit you and keep your earnings from you.
Go to Upworks instead.
Fiver basically makes you work for them and steals your earnings.

I’m sharing this because people NEED to know how Fiverr treats its customers. After more than a month and a half of being misled, lied to, and repeatedly brushed off by Fiverr’s support, I’ve reached my breaking point. Despite presenting undeniable evidence that my bank account was closed in August—evidence I shared multiple times—Fiverr has the audacity to tell me they’ve “successfully refunded” my money to this CLOSED account.
Their support team has done nothing to correct this and has made every effort to shift responsibility onto me, even suggesting I contact a bank where I have no access and no existing relationship. Are you kidding me? This is not just incompetence; this feels like outright robbery. They are holding onto my funds, refusing to fix their mistake, and expecting me to give up.
Fiverr’s actions are UNACCEPTABLE and UNETHICAL. They’ve wasted my time, withheld my money, and shown zero willingness to take responsibility. I want everyone to know: if you ever have an issue with a refund, don’t expect any help from Fiverr. Instead, expect to get strung along while they sit on your money, because that’s what happened to me.
I’ll be sharing my full story everywhere, including YouTube, Reddit, and social media, and I’ll make sure the press knows how unsafe and untrustworthy Fiverr is. People deserve to know that this platform is not only unreliable but also capable of essentially stealing from its own customers.

Disappointing Experience with Fiverr: Not Worth the Hype
Hired Sara and Alba to provide branding and logo design for my Photography business. After completing document, copy, colour and logo ideas, i waited the full 10 days for their creations to be delivered. What i received was of very poor quality which appeared to have been patched together in a day or less. The logo design was so amateurish a 10 year old child could have done better (no offence to 10 year olds). There was no creativity, design nor originality, it was as if they had used AI or other artificial means to patch the whole thing together and had the audacity to charge £500. After a request to make significant improvements and my concerns about their services, we parted company and ended the collaboration. I received a full refund which then takes another 10 days to be credited back to me. Fiverr appears to be full of con artists, use them with caution snd where possible insist on F2F comms, particularly at the outset, you will likely find many are reluctant to communicate this way for various reasons. You should also take caution at their past reviews , many cannot be verified and look to have been bot written and in the case of S&A are clearly false. Whilst some on Fiverr may be genuine (exception) many appear to have set up to make a fast buck or two from naive buyers. My advice for your branding, look to traditional sources locally, you will pay more but should get a much better service

Fiverr's concept is good but... The problem is that for some jobs that will take time to reveal the quality of the freelancer's work you don't have ways of rating their job correctly or even make them fix stuff for you.

My life, turned upside down.
Fiverr does not care about the livelihood of its sellers. I spent thousands of hours working with buyers over the years, and was able to make a living using their site. I was able to make a living on the business I got from them and considered the work I did on Fiverr my full time job. This worked very well for me for many years, as I am disabled and can only work from home.
But in these last couple of months, everything has changed. Sellers are now rated using new metrics and statistics, which they have refused to clarify the exacts of (presumably to prevent sellers from gaming the system). These abrupt, arbitrary, and illusive changes have turned my life upside down and I now make only a fraction of what I used to.
The metrics that determine how successful Sellers can become are now based on things that were never explained to Sellers. For example, I regularly added extensions to my buyer’s orders so I could perform extra work for them, but unbeknownst to me, this has completely screwed me for what seems like all eternity.
Because of these recent changes, I’ve gone from making a livable wage month to month to barely $300. I’ve been selling various things around the house to put food on the table, and worry for my future more and more each day. The rug has been pulled out from under my life.
Despite my best efforts over these last months, I have not been able to increase my seller or gig ratings to the point where I can advertise myself on the site. Because my traffic is so low (or nearly non-existent) I fear I may never get the chance to improve my scores to begin with. The ratings are based on many things (which it does NOT explain to you fully), and which go back to when you first started selling.
I’ve sent messages to Fiverr’s customer support explaining my situation, pleading for help, answers, clarification, for a manual review of my services (99.8% of my reviews have been 5.0 stars)… anything. But they have been unbelievably callous and disinterested in helping me. They have not answered any of the questions I’ve asked them, and instead resorted to copy-pasting the same corporate made messages over and over again. They’ve even seemed to get frustrated WITH ME because I’ve asked for clarification on things and for them to respond to questions I asked them in earlier messages and never got a response to. At one point, they even said that any requests for preferential treatment would not be accepted, even though I never asked for anything even close to the sort. I only ever asked for a manual evaluation of how the order extensions I’d added to many of my previous orders was adversely affecting my Seller rating despite those extensions being added for the benefit of the Buyer in all cases.
I poured my heart and soul into Fiverr and never imagined my life would take a turn like this. After working on their platform for years I even began seeing myself as part of the Fiverr family. But now, I feel like a dog who’s been thrown out on the street and is watching as the ones who abandoned me drive away, never to come back for me again.
Avoid at all cost - they scam you out of verification money
Avoid at all cost. Scammed me out of my verification fee by having me pay this fee and then later not approving the seller account I created. Claiming I had more accounts, ignoring that had contacted them requesting to delete one as it was due to a simple mistake with login and emails, not an intent to scam or anything. They then reinstated the old account instead making me have 2 again, and I deleted it again. I asked them to approve the one I wanted to keep. Got some dumbo refusing completely and said it remained disapproved. They seem happy enough to support actual scammers though, as the place is full of them. I had someone stalk me in chat the moment I signed up trying to get me to give them my login details and identity.
Many reviews are bogus
I used a freelancer who had great reviews and great looking products on his page, but was utterly useless. I guess a lot of the reviews on the Fiverr site aren’t authentic. Fiverr made it easy for me to cancel the order but they didn’t refund my money - they gave me a credit note, so effectively the money has been lost.
Fiverr Taking Sales Tax on Services - When Not Usually Applicable
I have no problem with the individuals who use Fiverr to provide services. What I have a problem with is that Fiverr is doing some shady things.
Make sure to check your invoice from Fiverr. It seems that they charge 'sales tax' in addition to their fee. However, I will share with those who are not wise to the tax situation - sales tax, in most states, is not assessed on services. Make sure to contact your states Dept of Revenue to see whether Fiverr has a sales tax certificate to pay sales tax to your state.
When Fiverr support has been questioned about this, their response is that they take the tax from "everyone" and that their system cannot be set up not to take the tax. And after sharing all that, they will not/cannot refund the money, advising you to talk to a tax consultant.
I have filed a complaint with my state AG's office regarding and I would share that if you see the same on your invoice - you should consider filing as well.

May be owner of this platform. They only care about their business, they do not think about the people who are working there. Freelancers are kind of their employees and fiverr is making a living because of freelancers. But for fiverr freelancers are just like dogs. Dogs better.
They do what they want, they make their own rules. They take down gigs as they want. Honestly, they do not think a bit about the sellers.
Taking 20% from all orders. And even from Tips.😂What the. Promotted gigs. Pro seller. So many way to take money from freelancers.

Fiverr customer support is the worst. If you work with a good person then all works fine but if buyer just want you to do his work and get refunded, he can. You can't do anything. I always asked if there is anything missing, I haven't done but there is no answer. They just cancelled my 1000+dollars order very easily. They only ignore my messages because they noticed that they were wrong. So I want to know if there is any other service on top of customer support that I can compain and discuss. If I am wrong with the order ( I proved my service with all online tools and can prove again ) then you can cancel all my orders as well but will you refund me if you are wrong by cancelling the order? If there will not be solution then I will also go to court with replies.

I really do love to create video content, and I was so excited to use Fiverr for this service. It was a shock when my account was disabled.
Fiverr doesn't properly check accounts before blocking them. There are individuals who engage in fraudulent activities on the platform, yet their accounts remain unaffected. I have never done anything wrong on Fiverr, yet my account was blocked without any valid reason. After sending numerous requests for clarification, I was informed that my account was blocked due to alleged s*xual and n&dity content. How can there be s*xual content in hair and makeup products or videos in a spa where people are covered? Is the creation of luxury spa services content considered n*dity or s*xual? Furthermore, why wasn't I given any prior warnings? Why does Fiverr block accounts without conducting a proper investigation, while spammers thrive on the platform?

This is not fair at all. I've worked so hard for my account, and I lost it just because they couldn't properly check the account before deleting it.
And one more thing, I'm really curious why accounts where girls in bikini sell their photos are not blocked if you blocked mine, the account which is not similar to these accounts at all?

I was a fast growing seller that was removed without warning
I was a fast growing, high rated seller on Fiverr. Without any warning they terminated my seller account, stating I violated their TOS.
However I showed them proof that I didn’t violate the TOS as stated, since I brought the customer to Fiverr from my social media account. They keep ignoring me or giving me the same generic robotic response.
Fivers practices continue to trend towards treating sellers, who all their revenue comes from horribly. I don’t see how they will possibly stay in business at this rate.
Beware of Scams on Fiverr – Horrible Experience
Fiverr is a scam company that provides no security to its customers. I believe I have been one of the biggest victims of this. Firstly, I was scammed by a seller who never delivered the item I requested, yet the payment of $1000 was automatically accepted for Order Number FO61EAC42CF04.
A few days later, I received a bulk of messages in my Fiverr inbox from five different sellers (scammers) pretending to be from Fiverr. They sent links and asked for my credit/debit card details. Now, knowing that this website is not trustworthy, I reached out to their support staff. Unfortunately, their response was simply an apology.
The link and QR code I received were directly linked to the Fiverr website, which opened up my Fiverr account. Despite this, Fiverr takes no responsibility for any scams that happen.
Please do not trust this website, as it offers no protection for its users. Stay away and save yourself the trouble!
