Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 84 reviews, most reviewers were somewhat happy with their experience overall. Many customers find the product to be a game-changer, noting their cats adapt to it easily and it significantly reduces odors, creating a fresher home. People appreciate the simplified cleaning, with less frequent full litter changes and easy daily maintenance like scooping and stirring. The integrated health monitoring feature, using color coding to detect potential urinary issues, also provides valuable peace of mind for many pet owners. However, some customers also noted that the litter often doesn't last as long as advertised, with odors returning sooner than expected. Many people reported issues with the fine, sand-like texture, which tends to track everywhere and create dust that can cause coughing or irritation. Additionally, some reviewers found the product to be quite expensive, questioning its overall value for money given these recurring issues.

I had high hopes for Fit Litter

I had high hopes for Fit Litter, but unfortunately it didn’t work out for us. After placing it in three trays, I noticed a strong dusty, chemical-like texture in the air that made it difficult to breathe. I tried airing out the house, but the issue persisted.

Even after following the instructions and regularly moving the litter around, it didn’t look or smell clean after three days. I was also concerned when my cat with stage 1 kidney disease showed neutral colours—something that made me question the accuracy of the results.

Ultimately, it was the lingering chemical smell, the dustiness, and the lack of visible cleanliness that led me to cancel. It just didn’t feel like a safe or sustainable option for my household.

Tracks everywhere and only lasts a week at most

The particles are very small and sand-like, living in a small one bedroom flat they were tracked everywhere. My floors were constantly crunching like they were covered in sand. The litter does not last anywhere near a month, it becomes saturated and starts smelling very bad. A very disappointing experience.

litter for an easy life!

Honestly surprised reading these reviews. I’ve not noticed any kind of chemical smell and the litter lasts well and has no urine smells. I’d say it maybe lasts 3 weeks not 4 is all.

It’s been a game changer for me not having to ‘sift and dump’ every day - bit of a swirl and it’s as good as news. And as it’s so fine it doesn’t track like thicker litter.

I think it’s great!

Full of chemicals

Ok initially but as soon as moved or scooped the smell of chemicals comes out, it smells like urinal soap. One of my cats got sore eyes

Mixed bag of pros and cons

Pros
- Hides the urine smell
- It has lasted 3 weeks so far (but it looks like it could last a few more days)
- Our very fussy cat took to it with a transition.
Cons
- Have to stir it daily to hide the urine smell
- Stirring releases a very strong chemical smell than instinctively feels toxic and makes us sneeze for an hour afterwards.. I worry it isn't healthy for our cat, who must also find it overwhelming with his senses.
- The grain spreads everywhere and because it's so small you don't notice until you tread on it!
- Possibly only lasts as long as 1 month if your cat doesn't use the litters as its only toilet.. we have 2 trays and he has access to outside.
- Maybe it will become obvious but it isnt too clear when it needs changing..

In summary, in writing this I find myself considering switching back to Catsan.. that unnatural smell.. just.. urgh!

Not 30 days worth and possibly oversensitive to alkalinity

I put 5 cm of Fit Litter in my solo cat’s tray on 20 July. He transitioned from Catsan with no problems and initially it was fine. Yellow/olive patches daily which I stirred in and for a week I noticed no smell at all and no dampness.

By day 9 (yesterday) I was noticing a smell/dampness and now I see blue patches. I’ve made an appointment for a wellness check at my vets next week on that basis, but I also don’t think that a healthy cat is likely to develop a urinary tract infection literally overnight. I’ll update if necessary to be sure that the blue is accurate because the wellness check is going to cost £85 and I wouldn’t be doing it if it wasn’t for the blue in the litter. Obviously, I hope everything is okay and it’s just the litter being oversensitive, but also I don’t want other people to be spending money on vet checks if it’s not necessary and the litter isn’t entirely accurate in that prediction.

Either way, it’s now day 10 and I really feel I should change the litter. I just don’t like the idea of my cat’s paws treading in that much yellow damp litter, so I don’t think that the 30 day claim is close to being accurate. I had expected it to be less than 30 days, but I thought it might last more than two weeks at least.

(As for the alkalinity suggested by the blue patches, my cat doesn’t really drink water (at least I’ve never seen it happen in a decade and his water bowl empties very slowly) so it’s possible that he isn’t getting enough moisture from his food although all of my research suggests that it’s normal for some cats not to drink very much. )

Don't waste your money

I wanted to like this kitty litter as it sounded too good to be true. I only have one cat and at first, it was great. My cat had no issues changing from our regular kitty litter to Fit Litter. It wasn't too messy but I did find a few crystals outside of the littler tray, but no issue. It was easy to clean for the first week, but over time, the kitty litter stopped absorbing the urine and by three weeks, it became a slushy, stinky mess. The urine odour was terrible and we could smell it throughout the house. Even my cats feet started to smell like urine.
It would say thay this product lasts 2 to 2.5 weeks with a single cat. But it ends up being very expensive having to replace it that often and it does not reflect what the advertising says - you will not get 4 weeks out of it, unless you are happy living in house that smells like cat urine and having a cat with urine smelling feet.
Don't waste your time with this product.

Messy and not as good as suggested

I’ve persevered with this for over 4 months and yes it great for showing health through colour change and it lasted (for 2 cats) for about 2 weeks as advertised but even though I mixed up the litter daily after about a week it started to smell badly. I was fortunate that have a closed litter house that reduced smell in the home but when it came to daily stirring that smell had no option but to come out into the house.
My biggest disappointment is the small nature of the sand like litter meant it got tracked everywhere and being clear you couldn’t see it so it felt like I was walking on crushed salt each morning when I came down to where the tray is.

Great concept but very pricey for something that is not competed as suggested when I first subscribed

I unfortunately feel I must leave this…

I unfortunately feel I must leave this negative review, I find it hard to believe it’s had so many positive ones…. I agree with the other reviews that this litter STINKS after 4 or 5 days, but 1 week my whole home is saturated by the smell. it does not need changing monthly like suggested. It’s a shame because I had such high hopes, I just can’t get past the smell and the price point.

Disappointed with advertising

I've been using Fit Litter for two months, & unfortunately, I won't be repurchasing a third time.

Yes, it does reduce urine odour and you don't have to change it as frequently as some other litters... but only to a point. After about a week, the litter starts to turn yellow and gives off a salty, unpleasant urine smell. You can visibly see the urine patches, and it becomes clear that it needs to be changed far more often than the “monthly” claim suggests.

My main issue is the misleading advertising. If the brand clearly stated that the litter needs changing weekly and adjusted the price accordingly, I would probably give it five stars. But at this price point, it just doesn't deliver on its promises.

Pros:

My cats adjusted to it right away

Helpful for monitoring feline health

Convenient delivery and subscription model

Easier to vacuum up than other types of litter

Effectively hides urine smell, for about a week

Cons:

Needs weekly changes, not monthly as advertised

Price is too high for what it actually offers

Gets everywhere like most litters but as it's fine like sand, it can be annoying

Develops a strange, salty odour over time

Doesn’t mask poo smells very well

Concerned about ingestion risk during grooming due to its sandy texture

Not fit for purpose.

Not fit for purpose.
After 1 week, the litter is completely saturated with urine. There is simply no where for it to go and the smell is disgusting.
The cats have tracked the urine soaked litter through the house.
This would have to be replaced every 4-5 days and not every 30 days as advertised. Very expensive product that doesn't do what it says on the tin, unfortunately. The only saving grace is that I was able to cancel my subscription.

Amazing Cat Fitlitter for your fur babies

I recently lost a beautiful 7 month old Maine Coon boy to a disease that attacks the kidneys in male Pedigree cats. There’s no indication of anything until a kidney turns solid & then there’s nothing that can be done. I saw the advert for the pre-registration for FitLitter. I talked to the breeder about this & as I have 5 other cats all indoor I decided to switch over immediately it was available, The elimination of any smell is amazing & it’s not anymore expensive than Catsan which is a good product but it still releases odours when it needs changed & if you stand on it barefoot it’s just like standing on crushed Lego!!

FitLitter doesn’t have these limitations no smell period, standing on it barefoot is like walking on sand my previous traditional litter was costing me about £25 per week for 5 cats However I am now paying £49 for 5 bags of FitLitter the difference is I don’t have to buy any extra like I frequently did with the traditional litter, I am finding that I don’t need to fill the trays as much with FitLitter which means I only use 3/4 bags leaving me with a spare bag or 2 to top up the trays after over enthusiastic attempts to bury deposits and if needed I can donate a bag to my brother to try it & potentially transfer another new customer. In short I am a very satisfied customer I live in a flat that I have to keep warm due to Nerve Damage & chronic pain traditional litter is very stinky in a warm home meaning lots more cleaning to keep the smell down this is yet another reason to switch over to fitlitter

I don’t normally leave reviews but I…

I don’t normally leave reviews but I have to say this cat litter is a game changer. I have five cats and their litter trays are in their aviary outside. In the heat the old litter would smell and they would drag it back in the house on their fur and feet. With fit litter it’s a game changer, no smell even in the heat and no annoying little bits litter stuck in my carpets and rugs. Plus I don’t have to change it every three days!!
