Did not initially invest as requested and later refused to adjust for risk tolerance. Nonsense that they adjust anything based on you, one size fits all trash.

We initially talked to a Fisher client…

We initially talked to a Fisher client rep that we liked, and felt good about, thought that the firm might work for us. Then we had the Zoom call where we were told ( not asked) to docusign many forms allowing Fisher to move our accounts etc without giving us time to get any kind of full explanation — or even for me to scribble notes as we went along . The reason given was that Fisher needed to get our accounts “ trading as soon as possible”. I had other questions about taxes, and possible retirement when i turned 72 —all blown past by Fisher rep Josh in pursuit of moving our accounts to them and signing up. We were then transferred to a second person Miles, who was much the same. At this point we had to put the brakes on and say wait — give us some time. We read the reviews here in Trust Pilot and see that others felt “ hustled” too. i also see that some people have had a good experience.
We did not. Fisher, don’t pressure and hustle people. It made me feel like you were selling me a used car.

Run away from this company

Update: I was notified by Trustpilot that Fisher Investments flagged my review and asked them to remove it.

According to Morningstar published rates of returns, I'm doing MUCH better elsewhere than Fisher Investment's rate of return.

2nd Update: Fisher again requested Trustpilot to remove my review after my first update and this time Trustpilot removed it saying I was "advertising" for other companies when I never mentioned any other company by name. But I edited my review anyway to get it to stand.

3rd Update: Fisher yet again requested Trustpilot to remove my review claiming it "contained defamatory content". Fisher's rates of returns are factual, black & white numbers, as are the returns from investments options offered by their competitors. Same goes for their much higher fees than many of their competitors. Morningstar is a very highly reputable and respected reporting service in the financial field and makes it easy to compare. Those figures are also available directly from each company in their prospectus.

Those numbers are what they are. They are factual and not defamatory. Maybe if Fisher thinks the reporting of those factual numbers is defamatory, they should work harder on improving their returns and/or lowering their fees?

Here's more factual, hard numbers: As of this writing 40 out of a total of 74 Trustpilot reviews give them the lowest possible 1 star rating.

More black & white factual numbers: On Yelp, as of the time of this writing, 97 out of 139 total reviews gave them the lowest possible rating of 1 star.

GHOSTED

Started the review process from a contact from Fisher in response to an add about their publication. A local VP came to our home and reviewed their services. We agreed to start with an annuity review. Had that review and received basic results. At this point we were still satisfied and considered moving forward and surrendering some annuities. However, after that with mtgs scheduled to review entire portfolio (additional information), we received a lame excuse to cancel/reschedule mtg. It never happened. All further emails and voice messages to ask what happened were never responded to. Have to say, poor customer satisfaction. A simple courteous response that they did not plan on moving forward with us would at least have been the right thing to do. Since that time, they contacted TrustPilot because our initial review contained an employee's name. Interesting that they are more concerned about this than reaching out to us to rectify the situation.

Rethinking Signing Up With Fisher

We are in the process of signing on w Fisher and Robert who has a VP title was out point and lead. We liked what he had to say of the firm’s performance. However, he handed us off to Carl and we are a bit concerned of the level of Carls ability to listen and don’t get a sense he truly understands our goals.

He was asking us what we wanted to make and we said, you are the expert! What do we expect at a minimum? He was nice but not exuding confidence.

The paper work has been a debacle with the help of Theron. How can you not know your process with peoples live savings at stake?

We are not impressed and rethinking on going with Fisher. Have appreciated these reviews. I have to listen to my gut and it says to look elsewhere…

People, do your homework well for your future.

So surprised by these reviews!

I’m reading all of these reviews and to say I am flabbergasted is an understatement. Fisher are not miracle workers, they are an investment firm that has consistently out performed the benchmark MSCI World index. Yes, their fees are high, but the service they provide is second to none in my opinion. I joined around 3 years ago, and since then we have had a number of market crashes, but I have stuck with them and again they inevitably out perform the benchmark by some distance in the recovery. They have one fund, Purisima, and depending on your risk appetite, will balance the levels invested versus cash based investments. My pot has grown 40ish % in those 3 or so years and I’m very happy. A lot of these reviews are about the hard sell etc, very few come from actual investors in Fisher, and those negative ones appear to be because they didn’t have the patience to see through a down turn. I saw one saying “manage it yourself”. If you do that, make sure you are an expert! If not, Fisher is a well respected investment firm and if you have the patience that’s stock require, you will be rewarded!

Fisher let me down

I have to say I was very disappointed in the way Fisher VP Larry handle a issue with Fisher. I had an account set up and was about to transfer my 401k and Pension for them to manage. When I asked how we should handle my pension he told me they would not answer any question until they had access to all my accounts. I just asked a question nothing more and the response was we do not answer those questions until we have your money in under our control. You will never get my money if you can not even answer a question about my accents. It also took a week and I had to send a message to the VP Larry for him to answer 2 weeks later. Not the way to run a business if you ask me.

BS ... "We do better when our clients do…

"We do better when our clients do better" and Fisher also do better when their clients DON'T do better. They charge a flat investment fee based on your assets' value, so if you have $1M invested initially, they charge a flat 1.25% (or so) and when they "manage" your assets where the value goes down to $900K, they still collect the 1.25%. Also, the custodian they work with (Sell-side brokers) will charge you commission on transactions which may not be directly benefited by Fisher, it is still a cost that YOU as client pays.

I am lucky to have some financial smarts, so I took my monies OUT of fisher....I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND FISHER INVESTMENTS

We believe our simple, transparent fee structure—which is based on the value of assets we manage for you—helps minimize conflicts of interest. And while third-party custodians who hold client assets generally will charge additional fees, Fisher Investments does not earn any of these fees—helping keep our interests aligned with yours.

Poor communication upon requesting the sell of part of my portfolio, was not made clear funds would not liquidate from stocks on same day and lost small portion of withdrawal due to dip in market. Would have held until value increased had it been clear.

Please improve communication in future!

Fisher Investment spam email

Fisher Investments recently started sending me unsolicited marketing spam. Having never opted into receiving their emails I've clicked unsubscribe only for their confirmation screen to inform me it will take them 30 business days for them to remove me from their list. 6 weeks!! Shoddy stuff!! Certainly not the conduct of a reputable business.

Investing is a long term strategy

I am struggling to understand some of the poor reviews left by others here on TP. I began my investment journey with Fisher in around 2020 and invested in Feb21 I can only say that looking at some of the dates and comments. these commentors were basing their judgement over relatively short timescales during troubled times globally. We made 20%+ in our 1st year during the global covid pandemic, and then this was followed by Mr Putin`s invasion of Ukraine, and in the UK the short-lived but very economically damaging Truss/Kwateng administration and continuing global conflicts,we`re the other side of that now and Fishers have navigated us to a currently 30%+ upside. Very happy with the service and advice provided.

Fisher has made me a millionaire

54yrs old and have been with Fisher for almost 5yrs after 3-4 financial advisors thru the years. Was tired of having advisors ask me what I wanted to do and watching their so called strategy plummet or make no money when markets were going up. Fisher doesn't ask, they manage the money and make the trades. We have more than doubled our investments and yes markets are going up but we are surpassing S&P. They are not day traders, this is a long-game strategy so you have to ride out the occasional dips.

As for customer service. The frontline salesperson can be a little exhausting but remember they are not the ones managing your actual accounts and trades. Fisher has a great back office team that will help you with all sorts of scenarios, predictions and reports if you ask.

I went to one of their seminars and heard other clients complain after a couple months they weren't making enough. You need to have realistic expectations and trust the process.

I am not saying Fisher is perfect but there is no way I would have achieved our current status by myself or with a typical financial advisor. We are on track to retire 5yrs early.

Horrible representation

I have received numerous calls from salesman, "Jake," I've been tolerant of his persistent phone calls and indicated numerous times that I am especially busy with other investments currently. But when he began to speak over me, my tolerance level was exceeded. A terrible representative of a company I had previously judged favorably. No longer the case: boiler room tactics by a Millennial selling a product to a 79 y/o. Ugh.

I cannot rate Fisher Investments highly…

I cannot rate Fisher Investments highly enough. I made the initial contact and eventually following due diligence I sign up with an investment portfolio. This was in November 2022. In the last 18 months my portfolio value has increased by 38.5%, which is over 20% per annum. So obviously no complaints on performance. Our client manager has been very good.
I do have other investment portfolios with other investment managers, mainly to diversify a bit, but none have match Fisher’s returns, most at around 12-15% per annum

They contacted me and we had some discussions , but then after reading some of these reviews I made alternate arrangments - I was then called back today by some halfwit in a cheap suit and patronised about my choices (I'm a 30 year commodity and financial markets veteran) and told I made the "wrong call" - well actually you clearly demonstrated by your approach, and the other reviews here, that I made the right choices
