First Ball Academy is a not-for-profit cricket Academy with a difference. We launched at the end of 2020 with big ideas and as soon as Covid restrictions allowed, have been providing affordable and accessible expert coaching and mentoring. We aim to support and develop cricket provision throughout Croydon, particularly targeting underrepresented sectors of the community including girls and young people from BAME and low-income households. Apart from Pay What You Can FBA Memberships, we sell kit, clothing and an increasing range of equipment to help fund our work. Our vision is to develop partnerships, improving cricket engagement through increased diversity access to the sport. PACE, our Partnership Achieving Cricket Equality is FBA’s concept to bring organisations together with a commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion and equality in cricket.
